Lily smiled at Lian, "thank you. I really wasn't entirely sure what to wear, but watching people come in I'm not sure I went simple enough. I don't usually do this sort of thing." She gave a laugh.
"You look nice too. I like the vest," she said before putting her hand in her lap and smiling.
"So shall we try this twenty questions thing or would you rather just do some catch up. I haven't seen you around school, even with spending time in gym," she continued to smile as was customary of Lily. She was a smiler, just as friendly as can be.

Presley had arrived some time ago, but left promptly after. She then convinced herself to come back, and busied herself looking around and trying to be scarce. She had, however, staked out her table when she was there before, and tried to discreetly observe the table she knew she was assigned. There was a cute young woman there, by the time Presley had actually arrived and decided to stay. Her outfit was quite simple, though pretty. Presley had waves of her hair clipped back, but for the most part, it hung loose; in ex-Crystal Academy spirit, she'd worn a cute dress. Her spiderbites, however, which were two small gold rings side by side on her lower lip, remained.
Presley took a deep breath. She'd never been on a real date, not one that ended well... and even this... she had heard some people got assigned in same-gender pairs as a joke, or accidentally, so Presley was going to approach this situation like she was meeting any other new person: it just happened to be Valentine's. And they were calling it a blind date.
Why had she done this to herself?
"Hey... I'm Presley," she addressed the woman sitting at the table. "It's nice to meet you." Presley stood around awkwardly, tried to smile.
"Since we got paired up... do you mind if I sit?"

Credit where credit was due, folks were smart to pull this. They'd been the ones to supply the fifty bucks, and while he'd first jumped to thinking what he might put the money towards, they'd quickly squashed his personal plans with a demand. Use the money to go to a blind date event. What the hell. Of all the plans to get him out of the house so they could have personal time, he had to question this one the most. Was this only to get him out of the house? Or did mom and dad have other motives with this one?
Whatever the true reason behind their weird demand, Devlin had paid the money, filled out a card, and got one in return in the mail. He'd given the card the same look he was giving the restaurant he stood just outside of. Resigned and debating if he had time to run. It might not be too bad, he repeated to himself for the umpteenth time. The girl's photo hadn't been a bad one. Good on the eyes, so plus there. Her "favs" made him wonder how well this would go over. Chivalry. Uh. Good luck with that, girl. His dad had had a good chuckle at that at least. His mom had had the genius thought to buy a box of chocolates for him to give this Selena. Heaven knows he wasn't going to be spending a cent on this. Even his attire was no better than usual. A dark, red-gray long sleeve shirt that hung snug over the tops of his faded blue jeans. It was a more respectable outfit than he could have worn, at least, though the bright red converse sneakers ruined any possible appearances of "dressed up." His hair wasn't even pulled back, just left to fall wherever the mess wanted to. He shrugged under the brown-black leather bomber jacket, stepping into the building and glancing around. Just keep thinking happy thoughts...
Not a huge crowd, least not yet. More people were coming in each moment though. A quick scan didn't have the face from the photo popping into view, but a brief wander through the tables had him picking out his seat. And... yep. Selena Adams. Card said the right name. Flopping down in his chair and setting the small box of chocolates in front of the empty one, he wondered again how well this would go over. One hand tapped against the cell in his pants' pocket, shrugging his jacket on to the back of the chair. The hell made these people pair them up? Why the hell did they have threesome tables? He tried to resist the urge to start fiddling with his phone.
Lasted about thirty seconds before he pulled it out and started doing just that, though he still kept scanning the gathering for any sign of a familiar face.

Kathryn had tried to keep one eye on the door. Really she had. It was just hard once she caught sight of the outfits that the hired help were wearing. She shook her head sadly. To volunteer and then be forced into such, well bright, colors; Kathryn sighed softly. Eventually she'd taken to playing with her placement card as a way to keep her hands occupied. She tapped it a few times against the table before receiving a glare from a passing patron. Kat grimaced and raised her arms in a stretch. Her eyes closed albeit briefly before a voice cut through and grabbed her attention. Grey eyes flicked up to the woman who was standing a little awkwardly at the other empty seat. Kathryn rose from her own seat and hesitantly offered her hand to Presley to shake before uncertainty caused her to pull back a bit. "It's nice to meet you Presley. I'm Kathryn," Kathryn's gaze caught on Presley's outfit and two small gold piercings before she realized she was staring. Averting her gaze Kat cleared her throat. "By all means take a seat. I don't bite." Kat took her seat again as she watched Presley. She had a sudden misgiving on the skills of whomever had matched up the participants - but she had paid $50 to get into this event. So what if it her match just happened to be another woman ... maybe she could make a new acquaintance. Kat glanced down at the list of the questions that another personnel had dropped off before letting her gaze flick back towards her dinner partner for the night. She gave a tentative smile towards Presley. What could they talk about? Small talk ... small talk. Think Kathryn think... "So what do you think of the weather?" Smooth Kathryn .. smooth.

When Alexis had gotten her card, it was quite the opposite of disappointment. It was perhaps not what she expected but then again, at least she knew who the person was and he wasn't a complete waste of space.
It had taken her time to get dressed up, the dress code mentioned formal. So, Alexis took this as one of those chances that she could pretty up as much as possible. After all, teaching classes only allowed for so much fashion.
She had found a nice red and black dress with shoes that complimented it, and since they had last met, she'd changed her hairstyle as well. Alexis moved towards the table where Corey was seated. "Well, fancy meeting you here." She said with a smile as she stopped close to the table.Feliks had arrived at the party. His sister had actually signed him up, wanting him to find someone nice to spend the holiday with. The magenta haired boy sighed, having finally found his table. He wasn't really sure about this whole thing. Hopefully it would be at least fun. Maybe not a complete and horrible tragedy, now he just had to wait for his "date". Oh god, please let me get through this without making a complete fool of myself.
At least he could blame his sister for this if it went really bad. Feliks wasn't sure if he wanted to be the laughing stock of the town. Granted Ellie took care of that for him. He was wearing a simple red shirt and a nice pair of black slacks. He didn't really want to over dress.Istas had been dragged along by her parents and left in the kids room. This was going to be.... fun? Istas sighed hopefully there'd be someone here she knew. Stuck in a restaurant, in the kids section none the less, while he parents have fun. Why didn't they just see if Zia could baby sit? At least with Zirconia she could've gone out on patrol to make sure none of the negaverse tried to spoil the holiday. How was one suppose to be a soilder of peace and justice if they were stuck inside on Saint Valentines day? She paused, were there sets of cross bows and arrows sitting on the floor?Bela was decked out in a blue and purple.... outfit. "Are you sure this counts as a costume? It's a little tacky...." She paused, looking at Roxy, "I know how weird that sounds when I dress up in costume to tell stories but seriously, satin? This stuff stains easy as heck."
She sighed as she waited for someone to need help, of course that didn't keep her from giving her two cents on what she knew of costumes. "If we were going to be princesses for a princess party, it might not be so bad... I mean normally princess parties don't get that.... dirty. This? With the kids tables? That could be bad if you ask me."
After all, Bela did manage to get a few gigs at out door events with very muddy areas, it didn't make her an expert but she was pretty sure that beverages and food could stain just as well.

Melinda still couldn't believe she signed up for this event, more so a blind date. The blonde stepped into the main room of the party looking around as she held onto the card that was delivered to her just yesterday. She wasn't dressed in anything special, in fact, her outfit was pretty much casual for an event like this. Chewing on her bottom lip, she glanced around, seeing that some people were already paired at different tables. Glancing down at the postcard again, her eyes roamed over the area before following to a table actually close to her. Magenta color hair, yup, this had to be him. Taking in a slow deep breath, she makes her way towards the table before stopping just a couple inches from it. Pushing her hair from her face, she now wished she put it up instead of leaving it down " Feliks?" chewing on her bottom lip, she really hope she wasn't saying his name wrong. If she was, she would just go hide in the corner until the event was over.

Sheldon had hoped to have forgotten about this really, it was kind of hard given he paid money for the event which could have gone to something a little bit better and even worse when his sister had found out about it. Leave it to the older sister to hound him over skype and make sure her little brother did this properly. At least she allowed the nerdy Dr. Killinger tie to go with his simple black dress pants, black sweater vest, deep red dress shirt and matching converse ensemble. It was pretty formal for someone like Sheldon, who lived off jeans and tshirts. But the green haired youth still felt a little uncomfortable in it, as he was with the whole situation as a whole. He was clutching the card that he had gotten in the mail, watching as people were filing in. Of course, being rather antisocial didn't give him the pleasure of knowing anyone or even just going up to random people to try and strike up conversation. Man, this was such a bad idea and it didn't even look like his date was here yet. - oh hey, that red head [Lily] looked familiar. Huh. - - Like Istas, Ridley was also brought along by her parents. Jasper had agreed, and brought his loving wife along, to attend in support of a few of his fellow single firefighters. The couple had figured it would be a cute little venue to try for the holiday of live. Ridley had come along, no question, wanting to dress up and have some fun. Things were only getting into full swing and she was already finding this to be awesome and way above expectations - and would be even more so if she managed to get ********* in, like she oh so planned. When she was finally released from her parents, having made a few rounds to greet family friends and stuff, she made a bee line to the kid's table. Only to find one of her very favorite people already there. "Istas!" The little girl squealed, running in a sort of tackle hug to the lavender haired girl. - - Well, Roxy wasn't sure what to make of the outfits. It fit the theme and they were pretty awesome design wise. But, Bela had a point on the fabric. "It's also not very forgiving with wrinkles," she added on, flexing her elbow a little to watch the satin wrinkle like no tomorrow. "If they had used a better satin.. I wouldn't be so sad."
The blonde had expected to wear a cute little maid outfit and had one all prepared, until she got to the event and found her options already laid out to her. She had taken the pink one, finding it to be the better of the designs really and thought it was more fitting for a Valentine's day event after all. It also went with the motif of her hair, blonde locks pulled to the side and looped to mimic a heart while the rest of it dangled in tight ringlets.
"They were also given bows and arrows," again, Roxy only added in as she played with the fabric. Totally not doing her job. Well, no one was coming up to her yet... so....

A mix up? In the cards? Oh, posh, it wasn’t to be had.
Jett Draven had expected only the most awful of turnouts for the evening—imagined that he’d be paired with some dreadful person by which he’d be made to gossip about the color pink and how fantastic fashion shows were. He’d assumed one date was going to be awful enough—but two?
Two was just plain interesting. Especially when you’d already had a rather tumultuous date with one of them before.
Jett had absolutely nothing against Harmony, of course—she had been a nice enough girl who had been involved in an odd enough situation. He hadn’t expected to ever see her again. Of course fate would have him in a three way blind date with her, though. That was only fitting.
He wasn’t one to back down from anything, and he’d already invested the money in this evening, so not even the prospect of an awkward meet-up was going to deter him from enjoying himself. He prided himself in looking well and had invested enough that he certainly fit the bill—at least to his own standards. He’d been very casual in preparing himself for the evening, however had donned a formal attire consisting of a black dress coat, tie and trousers, a deep blue waist coat, and a white shirt. His hair was neatly combed as his fingernails were completely unpainted.
In entering the room, he’d assumed he might be early enough to arrive before any of his designated companions, though he had memorized Arian’s face from the card and saw him sitting at a table—waving to someone. In following the male’s gaze, Jett found his eyes settling upon Harmony.
Who looked pretty damn good, all things considered. Not that he was checking out a girl he considered to be jail-bait or anything. She hadn’t seemed to notice him, though such wasn’t surprising given that he’d walked in after her. The wave Arian presented Harmony made him wonder if the two knew each other already; he couldn’t imagine a complete stranger being so friendly—even if they were on a date. It was a hunch only, and one that he was going to ride on until it bit him in the a**.
Casually, Jett strolled over to meet the younger female, thumbs hooked in the pockets of his trousers. “Miss Popular, are we? Does it count as a blind date if you know both your dates?” he inquired, tone every bit as suave as it was playful.

When the postcard had dropped through her door, Selena had to admit that she'd been a little disappointed. He'd looked...well. Scruffy. First impressions hadn't been great, but then she'd looked a little closer and come to the conclusion that he wasn't that bad. His eyes were lovely. And it could have been a lot worse. Always having been a hopeless romantic, Selena had jumped at the chance to attend a blind dating event. Currently single herself, she wasn't planning to meet the man of her dreams, but it was nice to get out of the house and have a little fun, especially since the majority of her day was now taken up with her new job. She'd only started yesterday, but so far it was going well. The work itself wasn't complicated and she'd slipped into their organisational system without any ill consequences. It was just being in a new environment, with new people, that she was getting used to. Selena was adamant that no-one enjoyed change - obviously it was a necessary part of life, but to be uprooted from the familiar and cast into unknown territory couldn't possibly be an enjoyable experience. Her heart had been fluttering like mad when she'd first stepped through the Azure Valley Academy gates. They were all very friendly and welcoming, though, despite her young age - she was probably closer in age to the students than any of the teaching body. Stepping through the door, Selena brushed down her top and smiled at the effort that had been put into the event. The tables were all set out with name placards and placemats, and several couples were already seated and interacting. She looked to the card in her hand again, reminding herself of his name (even though she was well aware that she'd be having to remind herself most of the night anyway). Devlin Levasseur. She looked up again, scanning the tables for a familiar face. Selena hadn't dressed smartly, afraid of embarrassing herself - but since this was a date, she hadn't been able to allow herself to look completely casual. Instead she'd gone for a mix of the two, with a floaty grey top and her smartest pair of denim shorts, spotty black tights insulating her legs. A black and white striped cable cardigan kept her arms warm, and she'd put on a few pieces of gold jewellery (earrings, a pretty watch necklace and a few bangles) to jazz it all up a bit. Make-up was simple and understated, and her blonde hair was freshly blow-dried in all it's curling glory. That was a good point. She had a sneaky feeling she'd submitted a dark-haired picture of herself by accident. Whoops. Moving between the tables, she soon spotted a messy-haired boy similar to the picture on her card. He was sat at an empty table, and so Selena approached him with her warmest smile, having to check the postcard again to remind herself of his name before she could ask, "Devlin?"

Fleur was the type of person who might turn down the opportunity to watch blind dates go mushy or hilarious. If it was just that, she probably would have been doing something more productive. But there were volunteer credits here, so... Yeah. Time for the fun to begin. Or something. Fleur felt ridiculous in her bright pink costume. It wasn't really the best color for her. It made her lighter green hair look washed out, but it had been what was left since she came later than the others due to her dog walking business. It wasn't like she was here to look pretty. Yeah, she was all for getting into character. Her hair was neatly tied into a low, masculine ponytail to prove it. But really, cheap green satin for a fifty dollar event? It wasn't really the best color for her. It made her lighter green hair look washed out, but it had been what was left since she came later than the others due to her dog walking business. She was glad she was here instead of out at a table. The building was nice enough, a live band played some nice music, and the food being prepped behind her looked pretty good. The added decor was a little gaudy, though.
But really, that was where she should be getting. Out there, things were starting to pick up. They looked like they could use another waitress. She stepped out into the main part of the room. It looked like most people were still waiting for their dates. She met everyone's eyes and smiled a little, trying to be cheerful but not creepy. Who wanted a creepy waitress? She spotted a few classmates, but no close friends. Most people she didn't know at all. She glanced over at the section of tables she was supposed to be waiting on. Emptyish, she thought. They probably needed a greeter more at the moment. Besides, that was where all of the volunteers seemed to be. She wasn't against being alone, but she didn't want to look out of place, which was already easy enough in her dumb volunteer costume. She walked slowly over and smiled and nodded at the people coming in. They all seemed to want to find their own seats, though. Of course she couldn't really blame them, as she would have done the same in their situation. The others didn't seem to have much to do either, as they were discussing the uniforms. "They're ok," she added, standing next to them. She didn't really like not doing her job, but it would just be rude to forcibly help people. "They're a little over the top, though." She shrugged. They were cute, in a way, but Fleur didn't really like them. "Bows and arrows? You mean for the kids?" She looked up in surprise. "Don't they know that could get messy?" This was supposed to be a formal, peaceful, romantic dinner. The staff uniforms were one thing, but giving the kids weapons just was a bad idea.

Layton sighed woefully as she stared at the impending crowd of people with wide eyes. She came in a blue dress with a white cardigan on top, paired with her typical thick frame glasses and braided hair. She was nervous, to say the least. She really didn't want to be here- REALLY REALLY didn't want to be here.
Yet there she was, standing in front of everyone. For a moment, she debated just running away altogether. Chalking this up to a horrible experience, and locking herself away forever.
That would mean her date would be all alone though! As much as Layton hated being here, being bullied and being subjected to this, she couldn't just let some poor soul go completely dateless. It would crush their Valentine's right?
Eventually she worked up the courage to find her table. She sat down very shyly at the table, not daring to look at the person on the opposite side of the little four legged furniture they'd been given. In a voice that was near whisper, she said, "H-Hello."

Harm saw Arian wave and waved back. She wasn't sure why she got two dates (maybe she was just that awesome) instead of one but she wasn't going to complain about that. She liked Arian. They got along, anyway. The fact that both of them might have requested male dates as well never occurred to her. She thought somehow she'd been assigned to both because they'd run short of women. On that she probably was mistaken. That would come out in time, though.
For a moment she thought perhaps Jett wouldn't show up at all, that it was some kind of horrible mistake, but that hope was short lived as she heard his voice behind her...addressing her. She turned slowly to face her, cringing before she could stop herself. He'd broken her heart in a way at a very vulnerable time in her life.
"You know what I find funny?" She asked him, a bit bitter even though it had been a few months. "That you're looking for a date when you already have a girlfriend but I guess I shouldn't be surprised by it, should I?"
In her eyes she had two dates tonight and could freely ignore one without feeling like a total loser not to have another and be out the money. She turned back to Arian and but caught herself giving him a sidelong look. She had liked the guy after all, a lot. She wouldn't be so bitter if she hadn't been so hopeful in the first place. But she moved toward Arian and took a seat at the table after leaning to give him a kiss on the cheek.
"Hi there!" she brightened considerably but assumed Jett was behind her. "Fancy getting paired up with you in this thing."

Standing at the door, a red head was nearly bouncing with excitement to enter the building and start socializing. The table seemed like they were slowly getting fun, something that was surprising to her. Catarina wasn't sure what would make her sign up for a blind date. It always seemed really cliche and silly, but at the same time she never knew if she would meet someone fun and entertaining threw it. She wasn't really expecting to meet the love of her life, who really would, but a new friend wouldn't be a bad thing either! And, Catarina loved dates so she was happy as a camper now that she was signed up and ready to do this!
Adjusting her jacket in the mirror, her outfit seemed practical for this event. She loved her leather jackets too much, since her father always bought them for her back in Brazil. Who wants to mess with someone dressed in leather? Not many people. That didn't matter to her since she wore them with crazy dresses and high heels. Well, what cute black dress didn't look better with leather?
Entering the building, Catarina was excited to notice a table with her partner and her own name written on it. It was off to the right side of the room, not in the center sadly enough but it would work. Walking to the table, well more like skipping over to it, she wore a bright smile as she took a seat away from the wall. Now the waiting game would began and she would get to meet another feisty red head like herself. She couldn't wait!

Syusaki Normally, Hayden would have preferred to wear a tank top, hoodie, and a random pair of jeans picked from her packed closet, but it seemed the event had called for a formal dress code. After she spent a few minutes sighing and huffing over the sudden revelation, the young woman eventually dragged herself over to her closet and sifted through her small collection of dresses. Eventually, she opted for a simple green dress and matching flats. She adjusted her light green bandana as she strolled into the restaurant. She hummed, disappointed with how small the current crowd appeared to be. Hayden restrained herself from snapping her fingers. Drat! Perhaps it would have been a smarter choice to arrive later, but oh well.
Sighing, she looked around for her table. After politely waving off an oddly-dressed redhead—was she a waitress…?—Hayden managed to finally find her seat and slid into the chair. The black-haired girl leaned into her chair and crossed her arms, drumming her fingers as she patiently waited for her date to arrive while quietly humming a tune completely different to the current song playing in the background. This kind of thing totally was not Haley's kind of thing. She hadn't actually been on a real date in a few years, usually sticking to the whole 'friends with benefits' side of things. Romance was something nearly forgotten about. And as far as dating women went, that was a whole new territory for her. But when she saw the sign-ups, she wanted to prove just how open minded she was to her friend Ricky, and well, here she was on a blind date with a chick. She wasn't opposed to it by any means, but it was new ground for her (at least, new ground for a sober Haley). She would have been nervous, but Haley did what she always does - especially when nervous. Before leaving for the date, she made sure that there would be no anxieties with the aide of her precious bong. And she sure smelled like it, too. She was a bit relieved when she entered the party to find The Beatles theme strongly present. It seemed that the event knew her personality well and acted accordingly. She wasn't dressed too formally, but looked decent enough in a light linen short dress with a small clutch bag. Haley looked nervously around and spotted her name at the table with her date, Hayden. She couldn't help but wonder if they were paired together for their names. What would be their portmanteau? She nervously smiled as she sat at the table with her date and crossed her legs, leaning into the table. "Hiiiiii," she laughed. "I'm Haley. You have really pretty eyes."

Harmony’s words were entertaining, at best. Jett’s cocky little smile never wavered as he followed the girl to what he gathered was their assigned table. His attention was focused mostly on the female and not his other date for various reasons—he knew her, was fixated on her words, and most certainly wasn’t sure how to address his male date. He offered a slight wave in greeting, though leaned to Harmony. “Have you been stalking me?” he prompted, amusement flickering across his face. “The last time I saw you was, what…?”
He donned an expression of mock thought and then continued, as if the information had just jumped into his head, “Last November, wasn’t it?”
His playful attitude dropped just slightly and he regarded her with a calculating expression, as if he were summing her up. “A lot can change in three months, Harmony. People fall in and out of love every day. Couples only last for so long. You do me wrong to assume I’d come here while already in a happy, wholesome relationship. Do you think I spend my days tormenting single people and ruining their lives? I’m human, just as you. Is it so wrong of me to desire some sort of companionship?”
