Marcus chose at that moment to start laughing. He thought it was funny. Amusing even. Even as he got get and went back, the moon trainee laughed. "You're a dope. We give it other s**t because that is what we do. And trust me-" He held up his blade, flashing blue momentarily. "He'll give me s**t later right on back."

There was confusion on Before's face. He'd been picked on far too often and far too long for him to think trash talking and giving s**t to someone was used as a bonding ritual. He did not understand that sort of interaction between guys. But okay, fine. If that's those two dealt with each other, Before only hoped they keep him out of it.
Then there was a flash of blue light and Before felt like he was being torn to shreds. Instinctively he threw his arms up, the movement sent his weapon soaring up high into the air. "Never gonna get how the ******** that line of logic works but whatevs." Trembling arms rose in what appeared to be surrender, except Before suddenly sprang up to grab the descending wheel and promptly smashed it down on Marcus.

Knocked back, he felt Dis hissing in his ear. It was very much over, as he felt the attack hit more then his FEAR shield. Cursing, He stumbled a bit, trying to shake it off, desummoning Dis to his hand. He put the weapon back on his ear later. "It's not something that is supposed to make sense but for us it just does. Jesus-" He cracked his neck. ******** that had hurt.
"For a guy all about being a Beta in the trials, you certainly don't hold back with them do you?" He muttered, "******** trials. ******** female Golem."

Whatever mood Before was in during the spar, it had all kinda gone out the window the moment Marcus mentioned the trials. It was replaced with confusion and suspicion, "I totes don't hold back when I spar with After, prolly wouldn't hold back against Bix either. 'Sides, they don't hold back so's I can get better at this. Who were you during the trials, anyway?"

He had no idea who 'After' was and Bix was well. Bix. Marcus was busy checking his arm for damaged, his shoulder burning. "I was Beta I. Short first, died first because petty ******** didn't seem to understand the nature of what we had to do." The was a short acidic bite to that. "Otherwise, I kept to myself a majority of the trial, it worked out pretty well until there were a bunch of zombies trying to eat me and a few others. Looking back, I probably should have shot them and used them as zombie bait."

Before was still rubbing the sore parts of his body when Marcus told him that he was Beta One. Beta One. Who had been a girl. Who did a Lazarus on them. The Misty pointed a finger and gasped, "OH MY ******** GOD. SOMEBODYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Suddenly Before's entire demeanor changed at this revelation. "Duuuuuuuuuuude we've had one more Beta awake and I didn't know? Who else knows? Bix knows, I bet! Why didn't he tell me, hiiiiiiiiii!!!!" he suddenly threw his arms open wide to give Marcus a hug.

There were feelings here. Feelings were happening. Dis was making guy love comments and just- "I.. am pretty sure Bix doesn't know. And to be honest, I like it that way." Giving Before a tentative shoulder pat he wanted awkward hug time to end. "I mean, for ******** sake, I thought I was a woman. Plus I didn't exactly go through the trials aiming to make friends you know. I mean-"
It was live or die they had been told, and Marcus was one hell bent on living.

Before released his hug-hold on Marcus, looking up at him with questioning teal eyes. "Why wouldn't you want Bix to know? Being a fellow Beta-bro-sis-buddy is totes awesome!" 8I "But yeah, trials weren't meant for friend-making but iunno... wouldn't have made the friends I do have now if it weren't for it." Clearly Before had not learned to make friends the normal way.

He frowned. "......Because I rather like not being reminded of those events. I mean Before, that's fine if you want to be that person from the trials, but personally? I don't like those memories. They were not fun in anyway for me. I attempted to kill people in cold blood to ensure my own survival Before."
He sighed moving back to the dorms. "I wasn't personal for me, just about making it to the end."

Before watched the Moonie leave the training fields, debating on what he should do next. Just before Marcus was out of earshot, the Misty yelled, "FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH, I THOUGHT YOU WERE TOTES COOL DURING THE TRIAL!"
And what is your opinion of him now, silly Before?
The Misty gave a mental response of He understands the situation we're all in.
