Finally! Some one that thought he was right! Charlie gave a big satisfied grin to Cady.

"I usually am right," He gave her a thumbs up. "As for a van.. its white usually the worst kind and on wheels. And like a car but ugly?" He scratched his head and then too the time to open some icky sticks and pour it on the table. With that, Charlie did his best to draw what a van looked like.

"Van," Charlie was proud of the drawing.

"Wait what.. Why you stop talking?"

Enzo snorted, leaning back as well before shaking his head, "All Reaper Boy's Private school. Got all high-hat about havin' a sense of humor." He wove a hand dismissively. "Got myself expelled, hah! They were all a load of bimbos anyway, total killjoys. So you're new to the scene, huh? No good neckin' yet? Gams like those you'll be killin' 'em left and right, I bet." Under the table, something was pawing at her ankle.

It wasn't a mischievous shoe, unfortunately. It was a rat. And not even a fluffy, friendly pet rat. It was a scruffy, beady-eyed creature that looked as though it had recently crawled out of the darkness of Amityville's sewer system for a quick hello.

"Oh!" She peered at his drawing for a second before licking her finger and swiping some of the icky stix powder off the tablecloth.

Sucking on it, a rather serious expression came over her face. "Well like, there was this teacher whose name was Red cos I guess she wore a lot of it, and she taught this one class with skitter sharks and a swamp and it was awful and I almost got eaten only I didn't-" she paused to take a breath.

"...And then a few Octobers ago we went on this field trip to this house with these ghosts and there were these reapers only they weren't and Bul and Demi got covered in oil and took turns bathing each other and I think they kissed and there was this tentacle monster and spookie suits and a cart and soap and then we found this room full of mirrors and then there was this place and there was a giant monster only they said it was Red and she set us on fire a bunch and beat up the not-reapers." Gasping for breath, Cady added, "And then...she turned...into a rock...and people took her rocks home."

Yes, this was clearly an accurate summary of events.

"Sounds boring," She said of the school. A school full of Reapers? She didn't trust them to all be good. The next question had her grinning. "I'm supposed to be learning how to be a better Patchwork, not 'necking'." She even used airquotes for that, laughing a little.

The laugh turned into a surprised yelp. She looked down quickly, eyes wide, and stared at the rat for a moment. It could go one of two ways. She could scream... Or, well.

"Aw!"

Or she could do that! Steff reached under the table for the cutie wootie little sewer rat. "Master always makes me chase these away." Sure, he liked the stupid rats that looked like they belonged in pet shops, but the proper drowned visage of sewer rats were always shooed away. It was adorable.

"Do they always follow you around, the rats and roaches?" Steff was more interested in the rodents than the insects, though. She just assumed, since she hadn't seen the rats before Enzo had come along. It was a good reason to hang around him, self-serving as it was.

"Yeeaaaah, unfortunately. They THINK they're mine anyways." He glowered grumpily at the rodent as she picked it up, "Y'know you can get mold from them things." With a sigh he at least clarified, "Hopin' I can learn to control 'em better anyway. They sort of just... follow me around and get in the way as it stands." He gave an exasperated huff. "Hey. You." He pointed to the rat in her hand that had twisted into a better position for belly-rubs. "Go get the lady somethin' to eat. Hey!" He barked again, and the little thing finally gave a squeaking grunt before twisting out of her grip to scamper towards The Boss and the table of snacks. "I'm rubbish at spells. Seems the only thing I got goin' for me is Animal Magnetism, ahahaha. Guess that makes me a sorta' Shaman." He shrugged as though unconvinced. But hey, that's what School was all about, right?

That and meeting pretty ladies.

Steff grinned a little as she pulled the rat up, scratching at the fur there and scoffing a little at his mold comment. "That's what replacement parts are for." She smirked at him, scratching the rat's belly when it rolled. Steff let the rat run off to the concession table, laughing a little as it scampered away. She looked back at Enzo, nodding a little.

"Well, hey, at least you're never alone." She offered, smirking at him. "And you can learn here. Or so I've been told. All I've learned so far is how to get lost and not to trust gnomes for directions."

That hour long trip in the graveyard? Yeah. Not as fun as it sounds.

"So." She leaned back, crossing her legs and regarding him in a manner that she thought was cool. "You meet anyone to neck with?" She asked, grinning. Hey, he'd asked her, it was only fair.

Charlie wasn't sure if he should be upset that his drawing, his wonderful drawing, was now being eaten. Or if he should just go ahead and eat some too, Charlie went with the ladder portion swiping some sugar from the table too as he listened.

"Rocks? Home? Nah nah that sounds all wrong. They must have been van drivers," Charlie gave Cady a nod. "Reapers are our friends. Like Mac. Mac's a reaper and hes a friend. But there are van drivers out there. Maybe they needed the rocks to make terrible candy." It made sense ... to Charlie at least.

While roaming the tables, Shehk noticed that one of their pairs was still sitting alone and rather...un-paired as of yet. She put on her best smile as she approached the table, touching Shun's shoulder as she stopped next to it - but only barely.

"Seems you're missing your partner. Anything I can do for you in the meantime while you wait?" she asked, tilting her head ever so slightly.

While he waited, Shun had just been sitting there quietly, idly watching the others nearby. Enzo and Charlie were around, and they seemed to be enjoying their time well enough. Glancing around the room, he also tried to see if he could spot Mitsu at all. Quite frankly he looked forward to see how she was dressed, and well.. looked forward to seeing her in general.

A touch on the shoulder snapped him from his thoughts, though he found it was one of the student council members.

"Hm? Oh. Nothing in particular. At the very least, it's kind of quiet," he replied.

In general, he didn't really mind, but he did wonder if his partner got lost. It was possible she didn't know who she was supposed to look for.

"Quiet is good." Shehk replied, pausing to mull over her thoughts for a moment, before seeming to retract her statement, "Quiet can also be bad. I guess it depends on the type of quiet."

It seemed valid enough, but none the less, Shehk extended the statement out for opinion; "What do you think? Is the quiet a sign of things being alright or a sign that something bad is going to happen?"

Shun raised an eyebrow at the question, but took a moment to think it over regardless.

"That depends on the situation. In a moment of solitude or meditation, quiet is very much the preferred thing. When the enemy is involved, however, it is possible for it to be too quiet. Especially in a moment where you're out in the open rather than stalking the shadows," he replied.

"In this case, I don't believe a bit of quiet is all too bad. Unless you have reason to believe otherwise?"

Shehk nodded. "Those are two very different types of silence, and I agree with both of them. A man plotting something's silence is far more unnerving than the silence of a man who only speaks when he has something worth saying."

At Shun's counter-question, she laughed a bit. "No, I don't think the silence in here is all that bad. It's pleasant. Things have been so...loud...everywhere as of late, a good break has been needed."

She rather liked the distraction of noise as of late, however. It kept the mind busy.

"Though the silence in that Forest-Run is one of those unnerving ones when it seems like every step you take could ruin everything."

"Not yet, but that aint for lack a' tryin'" Enzo smirked with a wink as he leaned back in his chair. Soon, the bedraggled sewer rat, accompanied by another who looked as though it had not too long ago been in a fight that left one of it's eyes gouged out, came skipping back with a plate of cookies balanced on their sloped backs. Enzo looked relieved they had managed to do it at all.

"So. Patchwork huh? I've honestly never met a patchwork. Loads o' zombies and ghosts. My little sister's a zombie, she's got a few stitches but I don't think she can use replacement parts. So how often you lose a limb?"

Shun nodded in agreement in regards to needing a break. The chaos of everything was almost overwhelming. To have something where they could relax was all a nice change. He even hadn't had any further calls or instructions from the Family this week, which was good too. It gave him time to recover.

"Indeed, but having that awareness is key in that course. It's somewhat unfortunate that the creatures there don't make a whole lot of noise themselves though, I found. It was an interesting challenge to say in the least, if not somewhat frustrating."

Well it seemed like Shun had gone through the ranks too, but had actually passed that particular gauntlet. A part of her was jealous of that, actually.

"I thought I'd do well because back home I lived in a foggy-misty-forest that had little visibility like that. In fact, I find I do rather well until I get towards the end and start getting anxious to get out of there. Which might be why I start slipping up. I take it you got through it well enough then? Any tips you think could help?"
