Sydelle WestYou're not a hero, you're a liar...
Sydelle surveyed the wreckage of the city with a steady eye. "Well this is unfortunate." She murmured quietly. All of her business associates were dead or scratching to make a living. Some of the softer ones were busy looking for loved ones or helping them survive. And so the 24-year old blonde was stuck trying to put together what remained of a business that had taken her years to build.
In truth, she was more than a little annoyed.
She walked down the street, deftly picking her way through the debris. She normally kept herself impeccably dressed. At the moment, all she could do was keep her head held high and act as if she was dressed in Ralph Lauren rather than dirt.
"Grr darling." She called over her shoulder to a hulking monstrous creature. "Where should we go next?" He was more than enough to take care of most of the zombie problems. And her own personal weapons took care of the rest. Still, Sydelle wasn't so much for surviving as she was for getting ahead. And, in this case, getting ahead meant she needed allies. Besides, if society was going to rebuild itself, she could easily "oversee" the rebuilding of the economy. And if she was the one that built it, well naturally, she would keep watch over it once it was up and running.
The idea of controlling an entire economy had the blonde smiling as she walked what appeared to be a strange vehicle wreck up ahead.
...you're not a savior, you're a vampire.

Tala KuklarDream me oh dreamer down to the floor open my hands and let them weave onto yours

Feel me, completer down to my core open my heart and let it bleed on yoursHaff. Haff. Haff.A red wolf panted as it darted through the city. The dark green backpack it carried on its back bounced up and down with each stride. Contained within were cans of food, a few simple outfits, a first-aid kit, and a knife. Two spaceships. Two of 'em. First zombies, now aliens. Greeeat. the wolf thought to herself. Tala really didn't want to deal with aliens, unless they were on Earth to help. If they weren't, she would see to it herself that the zombies got some nice alien flesh. As she neared the wreck of the first ship, she noticed a woman with frizzy, bright red hair and a weird outfit wandering close to it... and the pack of flesh-munchers following her. She howled, trying to get the woman to turn around, to see the danger. Feeding on fever down all fours show you what all the howling's for

Adelaide stared down at her dead parent's bodies. She looked at them in disgust as she watched them die slowly. They wanted the easy way out. Adelaide... Her father said, as he finally died. She glared at the man, and turned. Adelaide is no longer your daughter. She said, her boots clicking as she grabbed ammo, and rations. Her two sniper rifles were on her back, and she had her knives and Colt hidden in her coat. She then left the bodies, without a second glance.
Adeaide sat up, gasping for breath. She had sat down to get some sleep, and knew the memory would be her only dream though. But it brought her breathless, and made her want to kill something badly. She stood, and dusted off her coat as she walked out of the small bedroom of the apartment she occupied. She made sure her guns had ammo, and headed out of the apartment onto the street. Her boots, the same ones she wore when killing her parents, clicked against the crack pavement as she walked, singing a German Lullaby from when she was a kid softly. Der Mond ist aufgegangen / Die gold'nen Sternlein prangen / Am Himmel hell und klar / Der Wald steht schwarz und schweiget / Und aus den Wiesen steiget / Der weiße Nebel wunderbar.
{{German Translation: The moon has risen. The golden stars shine. The sky bright and clear. The forest is dark and silent. And is rising from the meadows. The white mist wonderful.}}

Kenta had never seen such destruction. Being a gryphon, he had felt most comfortable in the skies, but in this world, he was grounded- literally. His wings had somehow disappeared, and all movement was reduced to his legs. Worse of all, he couldn't turn back. There was just this dusty remnant of what may had been a flourishing city. Walking along the now eerily empty streets, Kenta had a hard time with just looking around and observing his surroundings. Rusty signs, crumbling skyscrapers... this place was nothing, nothing like Aria. In the past few days that he had been here, he had adapted in a way and had narrowly escaped what seemed to be like an extremely bloody zombie of a sort, something that still brought shivers down his spine. If anything, he wanted to go back. But that was going to be an unfulfilled dream, now.
An empty aluminum soda can crunched underneath his feet rather loudly as he walked along, scowling. This place was desolate and depressing in every single way. Save for the skies, perhaps. Kenta had always loved the sky for various reasons before, and he did so, even now. A loud explosion of a sort alerted him, however, and Kenta spun around to see some extremely ugly and completely unfamiliar creatures. What the... Oh no. Not this again! If there was one thing Kenta began to seriously fear, it was those zombies. Or were these something else? It was hard to tell. One thing was for sure. They weren't friendly! Wishing that he had some abilities now, Kenta just decided to make a run for it before they noticed him.
Tough luck. Gryphons weren't the quickest on their feet, so there was only one way Kenta could think of to go: that was up. Up, towards that benevolent sky again, to be somewhere far, far away. In Aria or next to his half-brother, even if he was one of those merpeople... just not here! Grasping onto the wall of a crumbling building, Kenta scrambled up on it, grabbing any protruding points on the wall. Oh, why didn't he have his wings now? Cruel, cruel world! And apparently, he wasn't the only one who thought that climbing up was a good idea. Someone else was near him (within talking distance, at least), and he looked rather monstrous too. But intelligent. Not a zombie, for sure. "Hey, you over there! Get rid of those things, will you?" Kenta yelled in a rather bossy tone and gesturing to the zombies.

Weaving through buildings, a young woman the age of 24 had been on the run from a group of zombies. For a while; she had been safe back their in the police building until some big bangs had triggered the restlessness of the nation's zombies. She turned into a crook to stop for a minute. She panted heavily and grumbled.
" eh! Miss Misaki, healer of nations! eh! great Copy Ninja! EH! Miss Misaki great heroine of the village! can't even copy a couple zombies!"
just then a couple zombies turned towards the nook and Miss Misaki pulled out her Kunai and a bit comically announced- sense no one was around-
" sorry misses landford... mister landford... little jimmy; if your all going to keep chasing me- i have not choice but to..... remove your legs!"
Miss Misaki dashed head on towards the three zombie and leaped over them combining some hand movements, she called out " Water Blade!" and just like that the family of zombies legs were cut off and what was worse was more zombies were attracted to this and began feeding off the other zombies. Miss Misakie chringed a little and notice the few that started stumbling towards her.
" Oh no! not again!"
Miss Misaki gritted her teeth and turned and ran- begining to weave through the buildings again.

Something was stumbling towards him, and attracting an entire horde with it. "********> Verra cursed again, helpless to halt what was clearly a survivor's approach. The alien might have taken the initiative to save it as soon as he'd caught sight of the shuffling, rotting ********, but Verra had watched the entire spectacle, and this thing, whoever it was, hadn't even paused to make a single attack. Pussies were of no immediate use to him.
Verra would have been happy to scale the wall and watch the thing get eaten, if it hadn't made the wise decision to join him in staying off the ground. Now, a string of swears in alien languages were flowing from his lips. Of course. Of course the first uninfected, sentient creature he came across would come whimpering for help. It was just his luck. Verra had half a mind to push the creature off the building, and that desire strengthened when it had the nerve to spit an order at him.
He wouldn't, though. Verra may have been passionate; he may have been violent, and quick to anger; these were characteristics of his race, things he couldn't fight, but he hadn't gotten this far in life alone by making rash decisions. Who knew, maybe this thing had some sort of beast form that it needed to power up, or some dumb s**t like that.
Of course, this didn't mean he was going to be anyone's b***h.
Verra quashed the urge to verbally lash out at this newcomer, and turned, slowly, in a manner that completely offset the urgency of the situation. He blinked several times, lazily twirling his laser around a brittle index finger, and looked the other being up and down several times.
"Why don't you get rid of them?"

✘✘Evelyn Alice✘✘ Open wide.. Evelyn popped a few prozac pills in her mouth then used grape wine to wash them down, it was the only way she could really get by these days, to be all hyped up on drugs 24/7. Ah well. With a frown she stepped over to her new 'patient' who had been gagged and restrained in one of the hospital's beds. The bed was pushed out into the hallway along with three others; they were all far too rotted to work with, she needed a fresh body to test on in order to reverse this nightmare but that'd be hard to find. Perhaps if she lured some of the uninfected over they could play as her lab rats but that'd be nearly impossible considering she was just one person locked inside a hospital that is swarming with the undead. Alice picked up an emergancy flare gun from her desk and started walking up to the roof. Aiming it upwards she fired it. A bright green light shinned in the sky; zombies were usually distracted by flares and fireworks, like a child to television. Hopefully someone living would see it too and come over to play doctor with her. "Come out, come out where ever you are." She said, grinning ear to ear. ...Its time for your medicine

D ɑ ɾ ɾ ɘ ɳ • M i ʈ c ɧ ε ɭ ɭ ████████████████ ████████████████⇰ Darren awoke with a groggy vision and a throbbing headache. That's right! He was knocked out in that bar in LifeLight. Now if only he knew where he was. Rising from the ground he scanned his surroundings. Building scaled from his left and right, giving the impression of colossal beings hovering over him in disdain. Rubbing his eyes he remember he left his wrench in his back pocket. Sighing with relief he grabbed it and used it as a foundation to push himself up from the dirtied concrete. Wait...was this the real world? Out of LifeLight? Oh s**t he hoped not. Pulling his hat lower and tightening his scarf he began to wonder where all the others were. Signs of lethargic mindless beings were far from him but he could still see their journeys made with vain. Dusting himself off he noticed a brunette looking out from a window nearby, just as he was about to shout an explosion rushed through the ground and shook the earth. What the heck? His support was nearly flopped forward and as Darren urged to keep his two feet on the ground and not along with his body. Who was that girl anyway? After the explosion Darren sighed and held his wrench tighter, this was about the only friend he had right now other than fantasy mirages hanging in the horizon. Confident that his journey to civilization would go without a hitch Darren nodded and walked on the empty streets of this city. ████████████████ ████████████████

Sydelle WestYou're not a hero, you're a liar...
As she neared the wreckage, she saw people running about, most in distress in some form or another. Grr grumbled. While she kept him under control, he was still in control of his thoughts. And he'd never gotten past the urge to chase things that were running. The gauntlet grew warm as he fought against it. But eventually he settled down.
Sydelle was content to watch for a little while. Apparently there was a zombie who didn't feel the same way. She heard a scuffed footstep behind her. She turned to see the corpse shuffling toward her, its steps disjointed and slow. "How cliche." She muttered. Grr was already staring at the thing. "Take care of that for me, will you dear?" She asked with a voice dripping in sweetness. Grr moved forward. Compared to the corpse in front of it. its movements seemed almost graceful.

ℳαɼα ℛѳʙɪɳsѳɳℒѳcαϯɪѳɳ: No longer aboard the Valkyrie... Where the hell am I?(( *Is flailing around trying to update everything*)) Mara froze at the sound of a howl. Had animals already reclaimed the city? Being a sky captain, she wasn't familiar with the creatures of the ground and the kind of cries they made, but she had a pretty fair notion that it probably ate live stuff. Drawing her pistol, she cautiously turned around, getting a good look at everything.
She caught a bit of movement next to one of the buildings and immediately took aim, not exactly sure what she'd seen. It looked human, but... There it was again! This time, the human-like creature stepped out, hunching over slightly and swaying gently from side to side. It looked like some of the lepers she had seen once in the slums of a recently conquered port town, except the open sores weren't covered with bandages. Flies buzzed around it, and the faint scent of decaying flesh reached her nostrils. She kept her pistol pointed at the creature, but didn't shoot. "Uhm... Excuse me? Could you tell me where I am?"
The creature didn't answer, but just continued standing there, swaying from side to side. Trepidation began to creep into her throat, and Mara wondered if the creature was insane as well as diseased.
A bright green flare (finally, something she recognized!) flew up, and they both looked up at it. Mara immediately traced it back to the source, a medium building with many, many windows. Perhaps this city wasn't as deserted as she'd first assumed. It might be best to head in that direction and find who'd shot the flare. She'd worry about their friendliness later. With a nod to the leper, she lowered her gun and set off.
Oddly thudding footsteps sounded behind, starting out in a slow, irregular beat, but quickly gathering speed into a weird syncopated rhythm. She turned just in time to see three more lepers running at her, hands outstretched to snatch at her greedily. One was just behind them, having trouble keeping up due to an ankle turned in the wrong direction. She backed up hastily, but stumbled over some stray rubble and nearly tripped. She couldn't bring her gun to bear, and it was too late to draw her sword or set her shield-saw spinning!

A scrapped hand shot out of a pile of a rubble like a piston in an engine. A lady pulled herself out of the debris in a rather hung over fashion; "That was one crazy party! Hey, Tina, why am I under this mess?" the woman called out in the darkness but got no answer.
Pulling herself up to her feet she looked around, but could see nothing. "It's WAY too dark in here. Tina?! Where are you?!" she called again but only heard shuffling sounds. "I hated getting my eyes adjusted to this. Aunt Elle, you know I'm bad at this. But I can combat anything without my eyes." she spoke to thin air finding a wall to guide her. "OH! I remember what happened now! We were fighting a horde of Jesters and their portal thingy went haywire and opened up and now I'm here! But, where is here?" she asked. "And where is my little sister and aunt?!"
Moaning was being heard at this point and the shuffling turned to staggered footsteps. "Not all of my body's functions are in full operation for some reason, I can barely get my night vision to work." she complained finally getting it to work, but it was hazy. "I feel like I need glasses...I'M NOT THAT OLD DAMMIT!" That yell was a mistake. "groahhh!" shrieks where heard all around and the slamming footsteps of running where now in motion. "Eh? What is that?! Oh, screw this!" she exclaimed and reared a fist back; "I'll knocked down this wall and shed some light on the situation...I only hope it leads outside!" she joked. "Ragnarok Blitz!" she exclaimed and a small blue light formed around her fist as it shot through the wall crumbling a large section of it and lighting the area from outside.
"Eeew! What the heck is that?!" she yelled pointing at a rotted figure rushing toward her. "Normally I get tons of offers for dates but this is ridiculous! Adios!" she made a joke and jumped out of the building only to land on top of a roof next to a high rise building. "I guess I wasn't the only one that had a rough night..." she drudged looking at the chaos.

Miss Misaki continued to run through the street until BANG! a flare had been set off and she turned to the zombies that had been chasing her- which now dumbly turned and started hobbling towards the flare. putting her hands on her knees and leaning over a bit- all she could do was pant........ But then she heard a shuffling of feet and quickly dived behind some rubble. - what the..- she peeked over the edge to see a Man grasping a wrench. she tilted her head and curiously watched as he sauntered by, - he doesn't walk like them- she thought. Slowly she emerged behind him about five or ten feet. She couldn't bring her self to talk to another human being yet, so instead- she followed him cautiously. - if it's on of them, they wont notice i'm following unless i make a loud noise- She pulled out her kunai just encase it was one of them creepy zombies.

Thud... Thud... Thud... Thud... Splash... Thud... Thud...
The echoes of Bartholomew's footsteps was accompanied by the young man's ragged breathes, as he raced towards the city's center. Sweat was gathered on his brow, and a determined look plastered on his face. Behind him, several zombies inched after him. The horrid creatures still had tatters of clothes on. One had a business suit, likely a corporate CEO of his day, and another, a slim dress, probably a beautiful wife. And yet another, a school uniform, a doctor, a police man. All reduced to a hungry, unsatisfied savage mob, whose sole purpose is to feed. And all directing their attention towards Bartholomew.
Racing towards the end of a one way alley, Bartholomew pulled out his pistol and shot two zombies staring at the wall in the head. Fumbling to pick up the shells, he shoved them into his pocket, pulled out an ID card, and slid it neatly into a slot cleverly hidden in the brickwork. A green LED lit up, a door opened, and Bartholomew slipped inside of it, disappearing behind a foot of concrete as the door slid shut, cutting off the unholy howl of the undead.
Bartholomew took his ID from the slider and shook the goosebumps on his neck. No matter how many times he heard the hungry, it still struck dread into his heart. He sighed, and picked up his bag, opening a neat glass door that was the only thing in front of him. Printed on the door was still the seal of the once great nation, and the words, "Welcome to Safe House #3"
Going to the camera room, Bartholomew plopped his bag down, and hummed quietly as he activated the monitors connected to the camera's he had planted all around the city. Being an ex codebreaker for the military had it's perks: Access to an arsenal and a research laboratory, knowledge of safe houses and how to enter them, and unlimited supplies of food, water, electricity, and safety. He noticed some non-infected on the streets, and watched them closely. Sighing in relief, he flipped a switch.
Streetlights activated all around the city, filling it with an eery blue glow. The bulbs in the lamps were replaced by black lights. The black lights revealed words, written in a special paint Bartholomew used, with directions to the safe house he was hiding out in. It was a clever way he used to avoid the Morsals, a gang that had been tracking him down. These strangers were not part of the gang, he was certain. He knew their habits, their patrol routes, the works on them, and even if these uninfected turned out to be them, well, he was prepared. Hopefully they would follow the maps he left out.
Leaving the computer room, Bartholomew went across the hall to the armory, where he went straight to the bullet maker, and deposited the shells into a bin holding thousands of copper leftovers. Horatio mewed to his left, causing him to acknowledge the cat, before grabbing a beer from the fridge and heading back to the computer room. He sat back in the chair, kick his feet onto the desk, and waited to see if they would find their way to the wall.

Kary ran as fast as her legs would take her, looking behind every so often. I hate this place, she thought. A world gone haywire with zombies was the last thing she needed, especially right now. Sure, she could see people becoming zombies, but animals? She turned a corner, though quickly whipped around and headed back, spotting a zombie hound several feet down the alley. Not like the rest of the district was any friendlier. She was an animal person, just not with dogs. Especially undead dogs. The pack she was running away from was closing in, though the one in the alley didn't notice her. Maybe she'd have some luck in losing them. And if it came to worse, tear her way through them. She dshed back through the alley, quickly whipping left and racing down the street. A few cars were strewn about, and she simply ran around them. The barks and snarls still audible enough to haunt her. They sounded like a single dog was producing two different voices, somewhat ethereal. The lone dog joined the pack already after its meal. Kary was running out of options. As she ran, she spotted a hole in a window a few stories up. It might just be her ticket to freedom. A ladder was conveniently placed on the side of the building, though not directly leading to the hole. Neertheless, Kary decided to climb it. She wasn't gong to lose to some mutts. The dogs continued to bark their heads off, a few biting at the ladder or stepping on it, attemting to make Kary fall, but she held on. Once she made it to the top, she jumped over to the hole, grabbing the broken glass. It left a gash, but she couldn't do anything about it. Scrambling up, she made it inside, taking a breather, only to find a new person. Their appearance was...different, and after shouting something, blew up the wall. Kary covered her head, trying not to get hurt from the rubble. "Hey, watch it!" Kary shouted, waving a fist at the person, who was now on the adjacent roof. "You almost killed me!"
