"People can and do still break up after marriage, and a lot of them are not happily-ever-after." He insisted with a frown, still working away at the mound of pancakes. His fear-parents were prime examples of the latter, and the former was just from experience in his home area. Both of them, really.
He didn't, however, answer the rest of it...because he didn't know how to. But he tried to pass off his uncertainty as too busy eating to finish what he was saying.

"What about us? What do you think about us?" She asked, pouting before feeling scared all of a sudden; maybe it's better not to know the answer? She held up a hand, "Wait, don't answer that! So... You don't want to get married."
She tried her best to hide her disappoint, but it was difficult to; it was easy to tell how she felt from her voice and expressions.

Well damn, there went that theory. Her questions and accusations made him frown, his eyes narrowing to shoot daggers into his poor, unsuspecting and practically empty plate. The more he thought about it, the more marriage seemed like a great idea; living the rest of his life bound in unholy matrimony with the ghoul he loved. It was a romantic idea, a nice idea...but no matter what the lovepink haze in his head urged, he was cynical to a fault in his dark, dank little heart.
"Lizzy, I never said that." He said sternly, a little moreso than intended. "I just think...we're too young to think about that." The part of him affected by the lovepink haze was so disappointed in him that it urged him to yell about his undying love and marry her on the spot, but the rest of him was doing a good job reigning that in.

It might be a good thing Mac didn't say what was on the other part of his mind, or there would be one very, very disappointed Lizzy after Scarentines Day was over. Instead, she sighed and nodded before hanging her head as she played with the food on her plate, feeling like she had just been reprimanded, "I know... I know..."
She paused, and then stood up to collect the plates, piling them up with the used utensils on top, "But I guess it's nice like this too," She didn't bother to wipe her mouth, and gave Mac a peck on his cheek, grinning on her way to the sink, "Playing family."

Mac leaned into the peck on the cheek but made no move to return it. "I suppose." He submitted, though as he thought about it someone else caught his attention. She was...awfully caught up in this marriage thing, wasn't she? As far as he could remember, there was nothing about it, hmm...
"What got you to thinkin' about this?" He asked, albeit more awkwardly than he wanted to.

"Oh, uh," She looked up from doing the dishes, which sounded more like she was murdering them with the help of the dish washing detergent due to all the noise, "Hel came to see me the other day... About Mot. Apparently she wants to get married. Now."
She looked sheepish, wondering if she should tell Mac about Mot's "intimacy problem", before deciding against it; after all, Hel might be upset!
"Anyway, Mot was not ready for it, so I told Hel not to be too hard on him," She went back to murdering the dishes, "I was... Surprised though. I thought Mot would be more open to the idea of marriage. Since's like my older brother and all."

Hel.
Of course. Hel.
"I'm not surprised." Mac shrugged, leaning back as she murdered his dishes; well, that was okay, he didn't really need them anyway, to be honest. Eating was just something fun to do. "That kid can barely hold a ghoul's hand nevermind marry and fu---err, bed her." He snorted with laughter, amused by the thought of Mot sleeping with a ghoul.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAAAAAAAAAA
"...You adopt brothers?"

"R-really? I never really saw it... I can understand if he doesn't want to bed her though," Her cheeks reddened as she shot a glare at Mac, since he knew her stand on that issue. Drying the dishes and putting them back where they belong, she sat on the edge of the bed, "I mean... We used to hold hands and hug when we meet, and we still do the latter... I'm sad that he seems to be scared of getting married though... I want to be an aunt!"
A pause, and then she nodded with a happy, faraway look in her eyes, "Yes, like how Amrita and Charlie are like our children~" She used 'our' there.

"I'll tell you what, I'll believe that when you can find me an honestly happy married couple who have the equipment and fear compatibility to have sex but don't." There was a chuckle to his voice that sounded like he was humoring her.
"I know you did." The Reaper murmured, suddenly solemn. Now hugs weren't so bad, he knew who she was and that she was most certainly his, but before...it was terrible. It didn't help him whatsoever. "Well, then you'd better talk to him and tell him to get right on practicing." The solemn stance shattered with a new round of chuckles at Mot's expense.
"Adopted." He stressed...and then realized he was playing along. What the hell was wrong with him?! "...Wait why are they our children? A little old, don't you think?"

"... W-well, you know it's not like I don't enjoy... It... Or anything... Uh," She fumbled over her words before clearing her throat; even if she took up that challenge, it's not like she had the guts to go to every happy couple and ask them if they had sex before. That would be awkward. Mac's probably right anyway.
"Or maybe you should talk to him about it," She suggested, "A boil-to-boil talk! About procreation and... Uh, beddings." She might had whispered the last word there.
"Adopted, but still ours!" She sighed happily, "Not really? I mean, their mental age seems about right! Although... I suspect that Amrita might have a crush. It's just a hunch though."
Sadly, she had no idea that 'just a hunch' was rather ironic.

He was right, and he knew it, and that was all that mattered.
"I could." Mac was considering it too, just to see Mot squirm. Plus, he did have some things he wanted to pass along to the other Reaper. Certainly not things to do with bedroom activities - though it would be fun to explain them to the cowboil - but outside of that too. Family things. Really, how badly could Mot hate him if he followed a sex talk with 'oh hey, by the way, you and I are FEAR related'? Not at all, that was how.
"A crush? Well of course she does. You were there with the whole Charlie thing." A hand was waved in dismissal; clearly he was missing a lot of the social aspect of school lately. "And Lizzy, please stop adopting your friends. It's really weird."

"You should! Maybe you could help him along... Poor Hel," She pouted; if Mac stopped touching her, she would probably feel... Really sad. It's actually kind of amazing how the ghoul managed to hold on for so long!
"No, I mean... I don't think Amrita ever liked Charlie that way," She looked sheepish as she played with her hair, although she soon started to frown, "But even now, I don't think Amrita understands how Charlie feels about her..." Trailing off, she looked up and blinked at Mac, like he had just said something ridiculous, before tilting her head.
"Why? How is it weird?"

"Really? Coulda fooled me..." The psychopomp pondered back to the whole event; Charlie's confession, the way the ghoul had been so very flustered, how inseperable they were...it didn't seem, at least to him, like the little rotting ghoul never actually liked the loud young demon. "Maybe you should explain it to her again?" Mac suggested with a shrug; he didn't care either way, and the relationships of others were not his forte. He could barely keep up with his own as is, thank you very much.
"And yes, it is weird. They're our age, Liz. Your children can't be as old as you are that doesn't make sense." Well, maybe not exactly. He knew Charlie was at least two years younger, and Amrita...well, she changed skins so there was no way he could tell her actual age.
Damn that ghoul.
"So. What's on the agenda for today?"

"Maybe..." She murmured thoughtfully; if she talked to Amrita about relationships again, maybe she could even find out who it was that she had her eyes on. Hopefully just her eyes on. Not hands or... Anything else, for that matter. Shuddering at the thought, she quickly convinced herself that Amrita was a good ghoul and probably the best daughter in the world.
"Their mental age is lower though! And I'm pretty sure that we are both older than them," She argued; not that her own mental age was all there sometimes, especially when she's in one of her moods and around Mac or a close ghoul friend, "I mean, I see them and I just want to... Protect them."
And possibly mother them around.
"Agenda... Agenda... We have an agenda?!" She threw her hands up with a surprised expression.
