Rory's joking response and grin elicited a smile from Isadora herself as she crossed her legs underneath her long skirt. "I never said I wasn't one of the mad ones, didn't I?" She cast a glance over to her companion and flicked her attention back to the screen one moment too late: her Samus character had already been blasted off of the screen. Isadora narrowed her eyes and readjusted herself in her seat. Oh, it was on now.
"Oh, you work down in the labs? That sounds pretty exciting," Isadora said as she furiously mashed on buttons and keys. "I've heard some, uh, strange experiments and stuff go on down there. I've personally never been there much. " She's heard some strange things, certainly - most specifically, the whole mess with Lance, the former Champion. Arceus knew what they were doing with that poor b*****d.

Rory grinned as he watched her character go flying and hit the buttons on his controller to make his little blue Kirby jump all around the arena.
The mention of the labs got him slightly distracted again. "Not so exciting as a grunt. Mostly you clean and run around," he explained as he tried to focus his attention on the battle waging on the screen.
"The higher up's are the ones that get to do the experimenting," he added, "most of the time," he was almost positive at least one grunt had stayed behind after hours to work on their own project.

"Yes, I suppose that does make sense," Isadora replied as she tried to avenge her character's lost life. "Wouldn't want a bunch of inexperienced grunts running around mucking things up, right?" At this, she rolled her eyes half-jokingly, making a scowl.
"Honestly, I don't really see much use for the rank system - for me, at least," she added quickly. "I don't particularly care much about going up in rank or anything of that sort. Seems to me like it'd just end in more responsibilities and more punishment going your way if you screw up the slightest bit." She had been a grunt for a long while, she knew; more than most of the others she had met, anyway. It was a little frustrating, sure, but she knew that she wasn't ambitious enough to strive for a promotion. For the time being, she was content where she was.
Isadora shrugged. "Of course, that's not to say that being an Agent would be a bad thing, necessarily. It'd definitely get me some more respect around here, that's for damn certain." Her last sentence was spoken mostly to herself, but she didn't know if Rory would hear her quiet musings or not.

The on-screen battle continued to wage on with Rory fighting to keep his character from being blasted off of the screen again. He shrugged his shoulders at her comment. "It also lets those of us with barely any experience in certain things not muck up their hard work." Clone a legendary on his own? Yeah...not yet.
"There has to be some perks to going up in ranks though," he commented, "like bigger dorms or something," he hadn't really given much thought to whether he would like to rise up in the ranking system the Team Rocket ran; maybe once he got more acclimated to the organization he could at least become an agent.

"Mm, yes, I suppose there is some truth in that," Isadora granted as she fought the good fight against Rory's character. "Although, I would have to assume that you would need to learn rather quickly in order to keep up with everything down there." Her fingers continued to mash against buttons and keys as she struggled to keep her character alive. "Again, I don't know all that much about what happens in the labs. That's just my speculation."
Isadora smirked at Rory's next comment. "So that's what you want to rank up for? A bigger room? Well, aren't you the ambitious one?" she said in a somewhat sarcastic tone.

Rory fought to keep his character in the game but his opponent was fighting just as hard to stay alive. He had already had to save his Kirby twice from falling off of the edge. He contemplated what she speculated about the labs. "That is does. At least it's never boring....well until you're having to wash the equipment for the fourth time in an hour."
He laughed as he picked up the sarcasm in Isadora's following questions and raised an eyebrow. "At least then there's a bit more privacy and more space. Don't tell me you wouldn't jump at the chance to not use the grunt bathrooms anymore?"
