He nodded, "Indeed. I planned on asking about before going to bother Harmodius but perhaps one of his aids will know as well..." He smiled and relaxed as the ride continued on, his grip on her middle loosening somewhat.
When she paused just outside town, he tilted his, "Less obvious?" The question confused him and he sat up, touching his face and hair and leaves briefly, "I'm obvious? Why should I not be? I am Forest." As much as he enjoyed mortals, he was still a deity and felt it was important both to remind and readjust the mortal peoples to the presence of gods among them... that he should blend in, especially after his encounters with the Night Elves, seemed most curious to him.

"This lot are a bit...skittish" Tien wasn't even sure that was the best word to use. "...after having everything taken with Gehenna. To find out there's a god around might scare them a little." She wrung her hands on the reins. The goddess had become so accustomed to dealing with this group of people that she tended to forget other might not feel the same.
"They don't even know I'm Trickery, Glyph." She reached up, running her hands through her hair as she took on her usual guise. Auburn curly hair, light green eyes, certainly more mortal looking. "Well, not entirely true, some might have an idea but I've never actually said it."

"Skittish?" He echoed her again and turned his gaze towards the town, "But shouldn't they know the Gods are here, we are the ones who raced to stop Gehenna, the ones now working towards their protection.... I mean them no harm. I'm usually welcomed..." He bit his lip, "I do not bring disease or death or greed... Besides, I cannot shift like that. I am what I am, for better or worse."
He looked most skeptical about this whole thing and shook his head, "We are so close to the Pantheon... I won't hide. I am not so strange as to warrant suspicion - not yet, in any case, as this body is still mostly my Host's." Glyph turned to regard Tien, waiting quietly.

She took up Mocha's reins again and the tapped the mare so she set into a lazy gait down the hill toward the town. "Hn...alright. Most will probably just think you an exotic visitor of mine or some such. If you choose to tell them who you are that's your business. Just don't tell them about me, I'll tell them in my own time. And for the record, my name here is Nancy."
Once they got into the town proper it was a pleasant enough place, but it was nearing dusk so it wouldn't be near as lively as usual. They passed through the small marketplace, most of the remaining merchants were packing up their wares for the night. A few of them saw Tien and waved or shouted a greeting and occasionally an invitation as they passed. She waved and answered, promising to join them at the tavern another night.
She turned Mocha off onto a side 'street' once they had passed through the market. "Towns not much..I know, but for now at least its home."

"I will respect your desire for secrecy," it didn't surprise him that Trickery wanted to deceive her town - one seemed to go with the other, "Alright. Nancy."
He murmured the name a few times to himself as they wandered through the market, lifting his head to smile or raising a hand to wave as well. The townsfolk were simply dressed and hard working at a glance, and welcoming of Tien. He only hoped they would accept them as easily as they seemed to accept Trickery. "I care little for constructs," Glyph responded with a smile, meaning to put the other at ease, "Home isn't just a building, or a glade after all."
As long as no one decided to put him in shackles in some dark hole in the floor, he was fine... and being a creature of nature, architecture meant very little to him. A cathedral could just as easily be a towering church as a collection of ancient trees (although he preferred the latter).

She appreciated his respect for her secrecy. "Its not much farther." They took the easiest path through the alleyways to her current abode. It was a surprisingly respectable looking place now that it was cleaned up some. Three stories, small porch at the front on the front with some chairs, balcony on the third floor and a makeshift stable of sorts on the side.
"Well, here we are. You can head inside, if you like, while I look after after Mocha. Shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes."

He slid off the horse when able, glad for the chance to stand on his own too feet, and flexed his toes as he stretched. Then, gingerly, he started towards the house, "Alright! It's not locked then?"
Meandering up the porch, he pushed the door open and stepped inside, ears perked to hear anything. It smelled of wood and leather and had the feel of someone's home - something he knew his own Rooms lacked. He moved in further, looking for a place to sit as curiosity drove him to inspect the rooms branching off from the main entry.

Tien grinned at him as he slid off Mocha's back. "As if I'd need to lock my door." She headed off to the 'stable' once he was inside. It looked like any mortal living room might, albeit with horribly mismatched furniture. An aoide walked around the room lighting small lamps. She felt the familiar brush of mana of a god entering the room, but didn't turn around right away. "My lady, I told her you'd be back soon enough but she didn't listen." She blew out the match, setting the glass top back on the lamp before turning around. Her eyes widened, seeing Glyph there and not Tien. "Oh...you aren't my lady." She seemed more than a bit flustered, a faint blush crossing her cheeks. "You must be a guest then...?"

Glyph paused as the demoness moved about, a quirk of a smile on his lips as he watched her. Tien had a demon tending her home and she was worried he'd stand out? Furry ears and an ivory horn hardly seemed odd in comparison to the similarly shaped woman.
"Good day," he began, bowing slightly when she finally took proper note of him, "No, I'm afraid I'm not. A friend, you could say. Am I intruding?" Glyph shuffled back a little, wondering if he was in the way.

Gul's nervousness subsided once he spoke of being a friend. Tien must have brought him here then, how else would he have found this place? She shook her head at his inquiry. "No, my lord. Have a seat then and I'll go get tea or somewhat else if you prefer?"
It was then that Tien reappeared, having finished tending to Mocha. She giggled softly, watching the exchange from the doorway. "Tea will be fine, for me at least."

He nodded and shifted over to take a seat, "Thank-you. Tea would be lovely, do you have any herbals?" Crossing one leg over the other when he sat, Forest leaned back and observed the room until Tien entered a moment later.
"No missing horses, I trust?" He asked with an amused expression, "You've a pleasant abode. Private! I am Glyph..." Trailing off, Forest glanced to Gul in the hopes of prompting a name.

"Yes...and my name is Gul, my lord." She bowed and looked over at Tien. "I'll be in the kitchen if either of you need anything, since Asherah isn't here."
"No and thank you. It's taken some work but it will suit for a while at least." Tien looked back at Gul momentarily surprised before waving her hand dismissively. No doubt there was a reason the catgirl was gone, but she would get the details from the other aoide later. For now she had company, which was a rare enough occasion on its own, but Glyph was here for a reason.
Oh right! She'd nearly forgotten. "I'll go get the mirror, while she takes care of that?"
Gul nodded and disappeared into the kitchen for now, leaving the two gods to themselves.

Glyph dipped his head, "Gul, then. Well met." He offered a smile then nodded when Tien offered to fetch, "Alright."
Rising, he moved to follow her, wanting to speak as they went, "How long have you lived here, if I may ask? Any particular reason you haven't revealed yourself to the mortals?" He tilted his head, "Do they truly not suspect anything?"

"I came here just before the Weeks...so a while." Tien headed up the staircase, letting her guise fade. She still wasn't entirely clear on how long all of that had lasted exactly. "Old habit, I suppose and I like my privacy. I think some might suspect that I'm not who I say I am, but they are grateful for my help none the less." At least that is how it seemed to her, no one had approached her saying otherwise.
Once Trickery reached the landing she turned right heading down the hallway to the end. "I'll just be a minute, if you don't mind waiting out here." The goddess left the door partly ajar when she moved into the room. It was clear enough from the view the doorway provided that it was her bedroom.

"A long time..." Glyph echoed, nodding, "Has the town fared well despite Gehenna then? Having someone to help them was likely a boon."
When she dismissed him, Glyph made a sound of agreement and stood there, peeking through the crack in the door only briefly before rocking back on his heels to inspect the hallway.
