Nervous and twitchy, Before approached the training course with a paranoid disposition. Well, sure, he had a FEAR shield on him and technically he wouldn't really die should he land on a particularly nasty tile. But it didn't change the fact that it really ******** hurt and Before hadn't quite yet reached that level of masochism associated in being a Hunter.
He grimaced to himself, Vanna's words of encouragement doing little to help steel his nerves. And when it became obvious he wasn't having a rather difficult time taking that first step, Vanna barked out an order for him to get his a** in gear and MOVE! Startled by the volume and authority in his partner's voice, the Misty ended up jumping in blind. And when no 10-ton anvil or ACME safe fell upon his head, Before allowed himself to take a breath.Status Step: OneHP: 50 Flags: 0/1 used Instinctive moves:N/A

Before let the hammering of his heart slow down just a tad. He knew he wouldn't be allowed to stay on one tile for too long. That wasn't how this particular sort of training worked. He'd have to get his guts up some more if he ever planned to be a half-way decent Death substitute. Not that he'd volunteer for that particular role, considering the division leader involved but the possibility that he would be needed could not be ignored.
He took a deep breath, and leapt to a different tile. The initial lack of reaction fooled Before into thinking he was safe. At least, long enough for a big a** hammer to come swinging out of nowhere and just smack Before upside the head. The hammer wasn't large enough to outright knock Before out but it really hurt.Status Step: TwoHP: 25 Flags: 0/1 used Instinctive moves:

Before knew he was going to be so sore after all this was over. As he was about to take a step forward, he paused and narrowed his eyes. Maybe it was his own instincts telling him not to take that particular tile. Maybe it was because he recognized that particular path would only lead to pain and suffering (or more so than usual). Maybe Vanna herself had reason to believe Before would be better off taking a step back to the very first one he'd taken.
It turned out to be a very wise choice because at least this way he was sure he wouldn't be blown to smithereens. At least as long as he doesn't stay put for too long.Status Step: ThreeHP: 25 Flags: 1/1 used Instinctive moves:

Before was almost done with the course at this point. And with the decision to take a different path than the one he'd planned on earlier, he felt his confidence bolstered. Screwing his courage to the sticking place, the Mist trainee chose the tile's mirror counterpart as his next destination. When both feet landed, Before heard no ominous click of a trap being sprung and was rewarded with a safe spot to plan his final move.Status Step: FourHP: 25 Flags: 1/1 used Instinctive moves:

Before was very much the sort of person who gave himself too little credit. Life had a way of knocking him down a peg (or five) whenever he got the faintest idea that he was even remotely passable in something, let alone actually competent. But he'd been chosen to be a candidate, hadn't he? And he'd woken beyond candidacy to being a trainee hadn't he? So then why should he be so surprised that he succeeded?
Answer: Because he's Before.Status Step: FiveHP: 25 Flags: 1/1 used Instinctive moves: N/A
