Gangrel noticed the flame, but the momentum of his emergence sent him straight into it. Luckily, he was able to do a barrel roll to mitigate most of the danger.
Falling to the ground, he curled up, hoping to brush off most of the flames.

Gangrel chattered angrily as the rock shattered his guard, but the burn had already subsided. He dived back underground, launching up from under the torchic once again.

Kwatoko let out a trill of pain as he took full impact from the attack. Growling, he swung around and struck out with his foot, hoping to connect.

Gangrel skid back a few yards from the kick, panting slightly. Catching his breath, he dived underground once more before shooting up to the torchic.

Kwatoko tried to dodge but still took damage from the attack. He shook dirt from his feathers then kicked up another rock and set it flying at the purple pokemon.

The rock slammed into Gangrel, who responded by sending a shower of stars at the torchic. Walpurgis looked on proudly, long since resigned to letting Gangrel do what he wanted. He could give him that much, at least.

Kwatoko yelped, this Rattata was tough. He was wearing out quickly, he wasnt sure he could keep this up much longer.... He braced himself and shot forward and once more aimed a kick.

Ganglew shot another, large star out behind him as the torchic slammed into him with a kick. Flying back, he landed on the star, cushioning his blow. Flying around a bit, he flew straight into Kwatoko before going back up into the air and circling around Walpurgis a few times. The star disappeared, and the ratatta landed gracefully on Walpurgis' head, much to the trainer's dismay.
"Ow, dammit, Gangrel! What have I told you about that?" But the trainer was smiling, proud of his friend. "You did good, as always, man."
Gangrel responded with an outstretched tongue. All in good fun.

Cha'Time winced as Kwatoko fell and quickly wanted over and scooped the little pokemon up. He looked up at Walpurgis and Gangrel and gave a small smile " your friend there is very strong, you are lucky to have him." he said and looked around then began edging away " if you'll excuse me... i must find herbs to treat Kwatoko" he said then turned and ran off
