Okay, it's been out for over a month now. Anyone have anything to say about RE6?
[I'm only halfway through because I'm playing with my brother, who has a 1 year old and just started university for the first time. That said, I don't mind spoilers, but please keep in mind that others might.]
Also... DID ANYONE ELSE SLIDE DOWN THE SLIDE AT THE PLAYGROUND AS CHRIS OR PIERS?! It is exceptionally sad that that was my favorite part so far, but... meh.

I think RE3 was probably that best so far (I haven't played 6 yet, though). That said, I have a real affinity for Sheva from 5 (though not so much so for the game, itself). Wallflower Disease Least favorite character. Brad "Chicken s**t" Vickers. That's actually my cousin's name (laughed my a** off when I saw him).

I both hate and love Brad. That poor, poor sucker.
You know, Sheva got some mixed reviews, but I really enjoyed her character. Especially since I FINALLY read the file about her past in the records. Pretty messed-up childhood! My biggest complaint is that they already have so many great characters that have just disappeared, so I wish they'd stop throwing new ones into the mix without giving us updates on, say, Billy or Rebecca or Carlos, etc.

Imagine if they were just spawning fields of Shion Uzukis and Vanilles. *shudder*

I agree.
Even though I just said I hate that they keep creating new characters, I have to admit I'm fond of Jake. Because. Well. I love and miss Wesker, and Jake is the anti-hero, younger Wesker. With a scar.
Also, I am beyond pissed that Claire hasn't been in a game since Code: Veronica, but I am really enjoying grown-up Sherry's character. Especially since she talks about Claire and how she wanted to become just like her. I guess if I can't have Claire, I'll make do with Sherry.

Officer Hot-Pants Screw her. I want Claire. Don't we all? I want a sibling game, with Chris and Claire as playable characters.

My money would be on Chris and Jill as main protagonists of the final game. Especially after fans threw such a fit, so Capcom made those two extra chapters for RE5 Gold Edition.

Can someone list the Resident Evil books here? I heard about them and now am interested in reading them but I don't know which ones to get D: Well I mostly want the books that are part of the movie verse, like what happened to Claire and all the other characters during the time skips into the next movie. By the way, I can't believe they're making another Resident Evil movie eek lol I know the movies are kinda bad sweatdrop but I still like watching them xD
Now with the video game verse, I love Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker, and Leon Kennedy. I dislike/hate Ada and Ashley xp although it was humorous when Ada takes Leon's hand off her thigh in the 5th movie xD and how Leon has so much faith in her.
Haven't played Resident Evil 6 yet, I'm falling behind on collecting and playing video games ;_; When I was younger it was all about the video games, but now that I'm older I have to include clothes and cosmetics in my purchases? lol D:

I've only read two of the books, and they were both from the series based on the games. I read Nemesis (RE3) and Underworld (RE2) by S.D. Perry. They were actually much better than I expected.
One thing I didn't like, though, was that the author created her own character as like... a shadowy figure in the background that appears in each book to tie them together, working for Umbrella but tipping off the heroes. Considering she was basing the series on the game, she kind of messed up a lot of canon by doing that.
Here's the novelization for Resident Evil: Retribution. It's by a different author, John Shirley, and I haven't read it, so I'm not sure how good it is.
I can keep looking for the other books if you'd like? I know I've seen them around... (I worked in a bookstore for three years.)
I own all the movies, even though the last one nearly killed me. It was basically filler until the last movie. And they relied too heavily on the game characters (Leon, Barry, Ada), who I think were way too overdramatic and had awful cheesy lines. ...Then again, the original games also had awful cheesy lines. It was part of their charm. I'll still see the final movie, of course.
You know what are actually really good? The Capcom CGI movies that take place in the game universe. Degeneration has Claire, which probably makes it my favorite, but Damnation was really engaging.
Wait until you can find RE6 on sale... or get it used super cheap online. I'm really enjoying it, but it has its fair share of problems.

Servant Reborn I only played the demo of Re6. Otherwise, I've never played. I'm really enjoying RE6 (I thought it was much better than its demo) but even I have to admit that the game has its fair share of problems and frustrations. RE5 (if you like playing co-op) or RE4 (if you like going solo) are probably better introductions to the series.
RE2 is my favorite, but it's from 1998 and has a completely different gameplay than the later games.
If you're not an RE fan, what games do you play? Are you excited about anything coming out this year? For me, Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, and Beyond: Two Souls have got me so excited for 2013.

I'm not really excited about video games anymore. I'm so jaded by this generation. lol
I have not played a survival horror, but I'm sort of interested in trying Silent Hill series. The last ps2 game I bought was this odd game called Shadow of Destiny, where the main character has to go back in time to prevent his own murder. I started it, but switched back to ps3 after I bought some games for the ps3.
One thing I miss from last gen was local multiplayer. Maybe it's just my skewed view, but I can't remember too many games with local multiplayer, at least not the same..giant catalog of games.
I like platform games, fighter games, racing games, adventure, action, education games, mmo, tps, fps, point-and-click, rpgs. I think the last time I was excited for a game was Transformers Fall of Cybertron, but I have yet to buy it. I could buy it, but I'm more excited to get Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage. However, I am playing Enslaved Odyssey to the West, Fallout 3, and recently finished the story of Sonic Generations. So, after I finished Enslaved, I want to play Heavy Rain, and switch it up with Fallout from time to time because..that game is going to talk massive time. Afterward, I would buy Way of the Samurai 3, and eventually get to Transformers. lol
Anyway, I basically wait for games to go on sale or buy used online. I don't..feel that excitement I used to have anymore, and I figure it's no loss except for time. Graphics are nice, but so many bland colors. This gen has been so boring for me.
