Danny looked down, mirroring the same ashamed look that yin was wearing. So Rikki had told people. Well to be fair, Danny had told Roch. It didn't make her feel any better about it.
"Ah. Yeah, we broke up," she said. Danny looked up and smiled somewhat sadly at Yin. "Could you please not slap him though?" She even used the word please. Hot damn.
No one deserved to get slapped in her mind though. Not even ex-boilfriends that called her stupid and left on trips without telling her. He had no obligation to NOT do those things, but again, justifications didn't make her heart hurt any less.
She then walked over to Yin and put both hands on his cheeks, propping his head up. "Don't look so sad, 'kay? I mean ... its not like you broke up with Rikki." She added a laugh, but it cracked.

"I shall do my best," he mumbled, refusing to give an outright promise not to slap the other boil. Though he supposed if he did that he still knew countless ways of injuring him without slapping him a single time.
Then Miss Danny was touching his face and trying to be comforting. It hurt to hear her like this, and rather than push her hands away he reached up and covered her hands with his own abnormally large ones. "I know I am not of much use Miss Danny, but should you need a willing ear I am here."

Danny leaned into his hands a little with her own, but it didn't feel right. The hands didn't fit hers like they were supposed to. Like Rikki's, she supposed. This were always so warm, and Yin's? They felt ... odd.
"I don't want your ears," she said, giving him a bizarre look, then dropping her hands. Her arms instead curled around her sides, insecure. "Unless you mean like listening."
She thought for a moment. Where did she begin? Yin already knew most of what happened. Best to start with her feelings then. "I broke up with him because it was too hard to ..." How had Roch put it? "Not be me." It was true too, Danny never felt quite herself when she was with Rikki. It was odd and lofty, and she felt insecure of herself. She even put on a skirt one day for him, because she noticed ghoul's did that a lot. A skirt. A nice one too, not one that she liked.
"But I just feel miserable," she concluded. "Nothing I do feels right. I feel horrible Yin." Her eyes were fascinated with the ground apparently.

"I do not know about relationship troubles," he told her honestly. "But it is important that you are yourself. Your decisions are yours to make, and if being with him made you miserable than..." than what? Than it is fine to just terminate the closest bond that two people can have? he refused to tell her that. He backtracked a bit, hoping that she would not notice. "You should be able to do what feels right and will make you happy."
He really had no idea what he was doing trying to communicate with a ghoul with relationship troubles (or lack there of). "You are a very nice ghoul Miss Danny, and there are several who care for you and would like you to be happy."

"I don't want to be nice! I want to be-" she snapped. She took a moment to sigh and rub the side of her head, and then she sat down on her bed, putting her face in her hands.
She took a second moment to control her shaking, and then she said, "Sorry. No. Nice is good." She gave an awkward chuckle, looking back up at the mantodae with her hands together.
A deep breath, and then she said, "I know, I know. I have lots of friends." Danny shot a weak smile at Yin. She had Roch, he was always going to be here. There was Michi, and she was fun even if Roch didn't like her. Standing right in front of her was Yin of course. It just ...
"But if its not Rikki ... I don't ..." She really didn't get this. Her voice lowered to almost a whisper, "I miss him."

"It is natural that you would miss him Miss Danny." Was it? It made sense that she would. He had missed Alexander when he had thought they would no longer be friends. Not exactly the same but if he had missed his friend surely she would miss her chosen.
He was torn. He did not like the reaper boil, but he had grown up believing that one was with their chosen for eternity. Deciding to do something completely inappropriate he sat down next to her and awkwardly patted her on the back. "Perhaps," he said slowly, "you should talk to him about it. What he said was not right, but perhaps you could still be friends with him if he still means that much to you." He thought back to his own recent fight. "Sometimes people to do not understand one another's actions until they talk about it after it is finished."

"But that's the thing!" she said, turning abruptly to face the mantodae. She saw how awkwardly he was sitting, and felt bad, but she was on a roll right now. "I tried that!"
She then recapped her little adventure to the reaper dorms, and how she found the note on the door earlier today.
Pulling a few blankets closer, Danny said, "And I don't know where he went. Why did he just leave like that?" She tried to imagine Rikki just hopping on a train and leaving; it just didn't seem viable. "It just makes me think ... maybe I'm not worth staying for." Her heart clenched up a bit.

He nodded, making the appropriate noncommittal noises that signaled that he was listening throughout the story. "Is he the type that would leave for no reason? Perhaps something important came up." He hated what he was doing, defending the boil that he would still very much like to punch in the face, but right now it was not about him. It was not even about the reaper boil. It was about Miss Danny and he did not like to see her like this. She should be cheerful and carefree, this was bizarre.
"The note did say that he would be back did it not? This will be good, you can have some time to clear your head. Maybe there will be an event to go to that will take your mind off of this."

Danny looked at Yin, confused. "No, never. He would tell me-" She stopped for a moment, realizing what she was saying. Rikki wasn't obligated to do anything for her. What if something important did come up? What if he just didn't want to see her? Most importantly, why hadn't he told her?
Yin's assurance comforted her somewhat, thought not very much. Rikki would indeed be back, but not for two weeks. Danny wanted desperately to text him, but it would be way too weird.
"Clear my head? Clear my head of what?" she said, going cross-eyed for a moment in an attempt to look inside her head. "And what event? Is something going on?" Yin make sense pls.

Great, he had just made things worse by being too confusing. "You know just...think about other things. Do you have a hobby that you enjoy? You were part of the music at the school play were you not? I do not know of any events, but perhaps if none are planned we could come up with something to do. Or you could get together with some ghouls?"
Ghouls sounded like a great suggestion. He was not a ghoul, and maybe if she was focused on ghouls she would not think about boils, and therefore Rikki. He was doing pretty good at this whole advice nonsense.

"Aughhhh its so hardddddd," she said, her head rolling back. "Everything reminds me of him! I can't go anywhere without thinking of his stupid-"
She threw the blanket over her head and groaned. She was sounding so annoying! Danny didn't want to stay put anymore. It was time to move.
Danny peeked her head out from under the covers, examining her Mantis friends. "Hey. Yin. Let's go somewhere," she said, looking at the door. Where was beyond her. She just didn't want to stay put anymore.

Action was something that he could handle. He stood happily, grateful to be getting off of the bed. He was halfway to the door when he realized she had not said where she wanted to go to.
And he really had no good suggestions.
"You will have to decide where you would like to go to Miss Danny, but perhaps you would allow me to give you a piggy-back ride to your destination?"

Danny stood up immediately and waited for Yin to bend over so she could tap that a** so she could hop on his back and take off. "We should ... go to Taco Skull." Jack she loved Taco skull.
Some tacos sounded REALLY good right now. Some of those little potato popper thingies too. Mmmmm food. Her stomach was growling already.

Yin assumed the position and waited for Miss Danny to mount him before taking off, making sure that her door was shut and leaving the dorm at a decent pace. It was not until they were headed to the school gates that he posed his question to her.
"What is a taco? And where can we find its skull?" He simply knew that he had never heard of such a thing, so it was probably off campus.

"Off-campus," she replied brusquely, "It's a long way too ... I don't think you'll be able to carry me the whole way." Then again, Yin had carried her all around the campus. Perhaps he was somewhat capable.
Wait, that could only mean- Yin had ... never been ... to Taco Skull?! She gasped allowed. "YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO TACO SKULL?"
How could he have not partaken in the most delicious of delicious foods? It was ... it was Taco Skull! Tacos! Burritos! It was her comfort food, and it was AMAZING. Shame on Yin man, shame on Yin.
