"My Gran used to just put a bowl on my head and cut from there, it can't be to hard," He smiled with a weak laugh. "But uh... if you think I'm getting too scruffy..." He... trusted her. He supposed. He was getting scruffy. The younger hunters might like their hair wild and unkempt as part of their style or whatnot, but he had a deep, inlaid notion that long hair was *for girls* and *hippies*.

It was nice, though, having a woman fuss over him like this.

...Put a bowl on his head and...oh, Jerry. Candace gave him a very clear 'oh hell no' look and reached out to mess with his hair again, sitting on her knees as she leaned over him and moved parts of his hair this way and that. She was figuring out what she'd do before she went at it. "Oh, honey. There is no chance in hell I am putting a bowl on your head. I haven't seen someone with a bowlcut since I was a kid. You're precious." She chuckled, letting him to with a little shrug. "I don't think it's too scruffy, but if you want it cut I'll do it. What have we got to work with. Do you have a bladed electrical razor? Scissors? Anything?" Candace asked as she got up off the bed, glancing down at the bag at her feet.

Later. She'd take it out later, after the haircut. Maybe she wouldn't end up needing it after all! That would be nice, too.

"There's a setting on my razor I think, for shorter hair. But last time I tried t trim it came out all uneven, and that was a couple months ago now hahaha. No one seemed to notice," Or if they had no one had said anything, "But er... if you'd like that would be fabulous! Thankfully I brought my bathroom kit... I've got a pair of scissors I think..." brightening up at the prospect of proper grooming, he practically bounced to his feet to go find whatever they might need.

way to not have gone to bed ;D

"Oh, good! You go get that then." Candace hummed cheerfully as she walked over to his desk and leaned against it, watching Jerry collect the aforementioned kit. "You tried to trim it? Huh...I must not have noticed. Good thing about hair though is no matter how badly you ******** it up it'll just grow back and you can start over, huh? If you like what I do I'll cut your hair for you from now on, then." Candace told him with a smile.

A bowlcut...did he always have one? Candace looked around the room, spotting a small music player and walking over to look through the CDs sitting beside it. She popped a random one into the player and let it start, folding her arms behind her head. "I knew a boy with a bowlcut when I was little. Briefly, anyway." She chuckled, grinning. It was a somewhat painful memory but everything hurt when you were a child. "Did you seriously let your grandmother put a bowl on your head? That's adorable, honey." Come to think of it...after he mentioned that it was occurring to her she didn't actually know all that much about him. She never asked about his old life other than knowing he was a teacher...

"So did you live with her?" Candace asked as she pulled out the desk chair and waited for him to join her. "Do you still have your old coat? You can put that on backwards to cover your chest and shoulders."

"Oh, yeah, that's a good idea!" He chimed before scrambling for the burnt and bloodstained thing. He had tried to wash it several times, but all that managed to do was make the stains and gold colors more pastel. "Uh..." He slowed as the question registered, pursing his lips as he moved to sit, "Yeah. For the most part anyway. I lived with my grandparents until uh. School. Ahaha probably explains a few of my er... eccentricities I guess? I miss her a lot. But that's all part of life, huh? Marching forth! She wanted me to be a lawyer," He snorted, shaking his head, "Could you imagine? Me? Ahaha What about you?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 31, 2012 5:38 am

Candace took the coat to drape it over his shoulders, gently tying the sleeves together so the coat would at least stay in place. She hummed as she set the kit down on the table and looked through it, pleased to find he did have the things she would need! Such a good Jerry. "It does, actually~. But I like your eccentricities. They make you who you are." She said gently, petting his hair a bit with a pout. She hated to cut it, honestly. It really was like petting a fluffy puppy! But she supposed he was right, he could use a bit of cleaning up. She picked up the scissors to begin snipping at his hair. "I miss my parents sometimes, too. Eh..? A lawyer?" Candace chuckled and actually did try to imagine it.

...Jerry would be a terrible lawyer.

"Well you're seeing an ex-law student. Close enough? Me? Eh, nothing terribly special. I lived with my mother and my dad." She paused, taking a moment to gather her thoughts while she cut away at his hair. She was not giving him a bowl cut. Candace would make Jerry looked good. "They would have loved for me to stay home...get a simple job, but as soon as I was given my diploma I left for school, too. It wasn't really...a great homelife~. My father and my dad weren't the same person. And my mother and my dad were married for two years before I came around, if you know what I'm saying. And my dad knew the entire time but never said anything because he loved my mother so much." Candace stayed pleasant as she said this. It was something that still bothered her, but there was no point in letting it upset her especially when she had a sharp object in her hand she was holding to someone's head. She shrugged, holding the scissors away to run her free hand through his hair and shake out any loose hairs before she resumed cutting. "They are entirely why you are my first actually serious boyfriend, you know." She smiled, plucking a comb from the kit he had provided her with. "So...I'm sorry for all the times I've been selfish, darling. I'm just not used to having a second person to consider."

Candace was well aware he wouldn't realize exactly what she was apologizing for, and she was going to make damn sure that he never knew.

"Would you hate me if I gave you a Mohawk~? It'd look very sexy." Candace teased with a grin, stepping around Jerry so he could see the look on her face was very clearly one of jest. She was lightening the mood after her very serious admissions. Candace had no intention of giving him a Mohawk.

"Well, a Lawyer or a doctor, you know how it goes, hahaha..." He smiled bashfully, quieting to listen as she divulged him in her own histories. It was odd... No one really spoke of their life before the island, at least no one that he knew of. This was life now, and their old lives felt surreal and distant, even after just a few months.

Her father and her dad weren't the same...? How did that work? Past marriage maybe? Divorce could really shake a household, and he immediately felt remorse. But wait, that didn't time out right... no matter.

"You're my first... uh... actual girlfr-" He stopped short at the mention of a Mohawk, his face went green. "Uh! I er... dno't think that's uh.... I'm not really the er... 'hawk type ahaha..." Even facing her teasing expression he wobbled obliviously.

"Ah, yes. The high-powered, influential money makers." Candace chuckled, leaning in close to brush her lips along his jaw until they were close enough to whisper in his ear. "Good thing I prefer teachers." She said with a low purring tone. Candace pressed a kiss against his cheek and then drew away, smirking playfully as she tapped his chin up with one finger. "I'm glad you're not a doctor or a lawyer, honestly."

The look on Jerry's face when she joked about giving him a mohawk was priceless and she couldn't help but laugh, leaning in to catch his lips for a sweet kiss. "You are so cute. I'm kidding, I'm kidding. It won't be a mohawk." She combed at his hair to change how the part in his hair fell, tilting her head to one side with a thoughtful hum. She cut a little more off the sides and then grabbed the electric razor, changing the setting to what she needed. "Almost done. I think you'll like it, it looks nice." Candace said with a bit of pride, walking around him to stand behind the man. "So what do you want to do after this? I'm up for anything today."

Jerry tried to sit still so as to not risk a scissor to the ear as Candace snipped and primped, his hands fidgeting under the coat-smock. He was just relieved the conversation had ebbed away from home-life. "Er, today? Well, I've still got some drills to do and a few other duties but.. I dunno. Whatever you'd like to do? I'm game for anything. I really aught to start making some fliers to put around for the Choir."
PostPosted: Wed Feb 01, 2012 12:07 am

Candace was glad the razor wasn't loud enough to drown out Jerry's answer while she gave his hair a nice trim down, humming along to whatever song was playing now from the player she'd turned on. "Drills and duties, hmm?" Candace was quiet as she did the final touches with Jerry's hair and out the scissors and razor back into the kit. She took the comb and gave him a nice once over to make sure everything was in proper order and to get rid of any stray hairs. Perfect! Candace stepped around Jerry with a proud smile. He looked good! "Do you have any mirrors? If not I can take a picture."

Suddenly something seemed to register in her mind. Game for anything? Candace's smile grew mischievous as she leaned in again, sliding her hands up his thighs under the coat tied loosely around his shoulders. "You sure you're game for anything, darlin'? You should watch what you agree to~." She purred, catching his lips again for a slow, lingering kiss before drawing away to mess with his hair again.

"Let's take a day off from duties. We're good for it, right? We've both been keeping up with our training...we could go on a date finally like you've been wanting! Or I could show you what I brought. Or we could just...stay here and entertain ourselves~." Candace walked her fingers up Jerry's arm during the last suggestion before reaching around him to untie the coat and pull it off of him.

"Honestly I'll admit that I'd be fine just...sitting with you holding me or something, no tricks or innuendos. But I know you've been wanting that date. You did ask me of I'd go on one with you fair and square."

Almost immediately he bent his head to gape up at her, thankfully after all sharp objects were out of the way, "What, my Candace wants to play hooky?" He giggled, dusting his ears before feeling the trim. "I... I s-suppose we could... er... I mean, a date is sort of tricky, it's a bit cool to ah... sit at the beach." Never mind the last time he had gone to the coast he had nearly drowned. "B-but... if you did want er..." He seized the change of topic while he remembered it's existence, "I have one, hold on! A mirror, I mean!" He carefully shrugged off the now-hairy coat to set it on the floor where it wouldn't make a further mess and leaned to rummage in his bathroom kit.

At the look he gave her Candace laughed and playfully flicked his ear with her finger, grinning. For some reason it made her heart flutter when he called her his Candace. It felt..really, really nice. "Hey now, even I like to skip every now and then. We deserve a day off." Besides, Aria wouldn't let her do any of the more intense training courses with her leg healing anyway. Might as well take advantage of one day. It would be nice to have a day she could just goof off without anything awful happening and ruining it. Candace watched him feel his hair with a somewhat anxious look. Did he like it? Was it okay? She probably wouldn't be able to tell until he could see it. Though he had a point, a date on the island was tricky with how little there was to it. They couldn't just go watch a movie, or relax in a cafe or go get lunch in a nice restaurant. But sitting at the beach sounded nice! "I'd like that." She told him, playing with his freshly trimmed hair. "...If I did want what, Jerry?" Jerry may have wanted to change the topic but he had left off on something he had been saying. Candace had to know. What did he think she wanted that he couldn't talk about?

He scrambled for a mirror and Candace watched him blatantly avoid what he had been about to say. Oh, but she wasn't going to let that happen. Candace had to know what he meant. Did he mean...from her teasing? Ha! She hoped so! "Sure thing." Candace said with a smile, leaning down after he had gotten his hands on the mirror to leave a light kiss against his temple, then his cheek, and then finally the corner of his mouth. "You should know better than to not finish something you're trying to say to me by now, Jerry." She told him quietly, nuzzling her face against his cheek.

"N-not finish what?" He lifted the mirror, glancing about at the change- it wasn't so different, to his relief, but definitely more tidy. He shifted this way and that, holding a hand up over his cheek scars, supposedly to not distract him as he turned this way and that, "Oh, it looks great! Thank you!" Beaming, he shifted to kiss her cheek, "Do I look dashing?"
PostPosted: Fri Feb 03, 2012 6:32 am

"You started to say if I want something. What is that something, Jerry?" Candace purred, about to steal a kiss from his lips until he moved to check his hair out in the mirror. She watched him then, giving him room to move his head however he wanted. Did he like it..? Her smile fell as he covered his scars, looking away a moment and just..conveniently inspecting anything but his scarred cheek; every time she saw it she just felt worse and worse for what she was doing behind his back, but she did a good job of mostly ignoring it was there unless reminded of it, and him putting a hand there did exactly that.

He finally told her what he thought and she smiled again, giggling as he kisses her cheek. "Oh, good! I'm glad. And yes, you look very handsome." She told him honestly, stealing that kiss she'd been wanting before moving to collect his old coat and put it somewhere not in the way after brushing the hair off it into the trash. "I think I'll let my hair grow out again...at least a little longer. I used to keep it really long but I cut it when I was recruited. A fresh start, you know?" She gave a shrug as she folded the coat and put it away, returning to Jerry to drape her arms over his shoulders from behind and nuzzling her cheek against the top of his head.

"Want to head over to the beach now? We could bring a blanket to sit on, too. Ohhh and some food from the cafeteria, like a little picnic." Candace actually sounded excited about this. See? They could totally have a little date just like he wanted! It wasn't fancy by any means but she was okay with that. It was time with Jerry.

"A... picnic would be fun! We can pack some sandwiches and I'll bring my guitar!" He seemed to get his confidence back as he stood, beaming at her. "Alright, that sounds good! Just ahahah no swimming." To that, he coughed strategically. Smiling, he leaned in to catch a kiss before scooping up his guitar, "And we can show off my new haircut!"
