If there was one thing that Gale enjoyed doing, it was training. He might not be good at it, but it was something that was consistent in his life, something that he had complete control over. He could train to his heart's content and do what he wanted out on the training grounds, without any fear of repercussion or harm to himself.
Unless he actually did it to himself, but that was beside the point.
Fini's first attack was...not really an attack. Gale felt his legs give away beneath him and suddenly he was down on the ground, crashed into a pile. He gave a small shout of surprise and swung the rifle around, gripping it by the barrel and slamming the butt of the gun upwards into Fini's ribcage. Shoving her off, he rolled over, clambering back to his feet.
"I won't go easy on anyone in a fair fight. That would defeat the purpose."

Alright, she admitted it. She was slightly nervous about training with someone. What if she and Vashi ******** up? Or they did something wrong? It was one thing to practice on your own. Quite another against someone else.

Yes. Yes she did. And so long as Gale forgave her in the end, and didn't hold back on her, Fini felt this would be a good learning experience.
:: Bahahahahahaha! :: Vash choked out laughter in her mind after the surprised shout escaped Gale. :: Can't even handle a lovely lady on top of him, can he? ::
Where Vashi may have been overly amused, Fini was busy rethinking the 'good' part of this. More like painful. She sputtered, gasping for breath as the hit to her ribcage forced all the air out of her body. Her hand shot out to support herself against the ground when she was shoved off, eyes watering a little. Her movements were a little slowed from the pain in her chest, but Fini shot Gale a rueful smile.
"So I can see." She panted, gripping the sais tightly. "Excellent then!"
Flipping the sais so the blades followed along the length of her arm instead of being pointed in front, Fini gritted her teeth and lunged forward, fist flying towards Gale's head, blade whipping around to snag his cheek. The second sais she aimed low for his thigh as she twisted to follow up and use the momentum from her first attack to fuel the second.
"Be honest," she said, watching him carefully, a serious expression on her face. "How bad am I at this?" Vashi just snorted, clearly disagreeing with them being bad in any way.

The sai missed his head by inches, grazing through his hair and probably cutting off a few strands in the process, but that was it, damage-wise. Gale took several steps backwards, dodging the attack to his leg as he leapt back.
Then he stopped, reaching up a hand to push his hair back away from his face and gave a small shrug.
"Not too badly," he said honestly, swinging the rifle around to rest the barrel of the gun against his shoulder, his other hand resting on his hip. "You're good at offensive, rather than defensive, and you're quick. But you're putting too much thought into your movements. Don't overanalyze, just go."

Clearly, Vashi didn't like missing. Or failing. And was in a grumpy mood now. Which also made him more competitive. And determined for them to land a good hit. Especially after Fini had gotten a good shot to her gut.
Over thinking stuff, am I? That sounded right to her. It wouldn't be the first time in any event. She nodded at Gale, moving slowly away to put a little distance between them. But not much. She raised her sais up again, trying to clear her mind and stop thinking so much on where to strike, worrying if she would ******** up, or if she hit too hard.
:: Relax, precious. We can do this easily. Focus on the legs. Use your speed. ::
Nodding slightly in response to Vashi, Fini tightened her hold and darted forward. She came in low, swiping both sais in front of her at Gale's left leg.
