He rather liked that she had called him awesome, even if it was a bit difficult to understand her accent. But Gale had his own, after all, and he slanted a gaze at Ofelia, lifting a brow.

"Ah, yes, well, Jinhai is somewhat of a...temperamental rifle," said Gale, with a glance down at the ring on his hand. "Not that I doubt your ability to shoot, but I have the distinct feeling that it wouldn't be quite so easy to fire off this particular rifle."

<< I am not, >> said Jinhai, sounding highly indignant. << temperamental. Having an opinion on something does not make me - >>

"At any rate," said Gale, as they reached her room, and Ofelia stopped. Her hand came to rest on his head - Gale gave a small sigh - and she was smiling brightly at him.

"Er," he said, flushing a bit. "I'm not, er...well that kind. But you're welcome."

As he turned to leave, Gale paused a few doors down.

"It's all right, you know," he said, casting a glance over his shoulder at her. "People here are pretty good about being 'kind,' as you put it. Despite everything, there are good people here."

With a nod, he faced frontwards again and went on his way.
