Before was quite content to talk about how it took his group some time to find the right path that led to freedom out of that icy room. But when Tori changed the topic of conversation he gave her a smile and waited for this "supposedly" stupid question.
Whether or not the question was indeed "stupid", the Misty wasn't going to judge her for-
"-What are the Ninja Turtles?"

"Y-you've never heard of the Ninja Turtles?!" he gasped in genuine dismay and horror. "Do you know Thunder Cats? Tiger Sharks? Karate Kat? Scooby Doo!?" DDDDDDDDDD8 he began to list several children's cartoon titles, hoping she would recognize something from the happy memories of his childhood.

Tori only grew more nervous when she saw his reaction to her not knowing what the Ninja Turtles were. Listening to what other shows that Before had seen in his childhood. For her it there were times she wanted to forget, to not remember it ever happened at all. Oooo she did recognized the last one. "Ummm...I have heard of Scooby Doo," Tori replied nervously as she unconsciously had curled her toes in. "I was never aloud to watch any shows like those. To my parents they were unproductive and there for read a lot!" she exclaimed as she flexed her toes out and it gave her a new wave of pain from the broken ones.
Having taken in a deep breath to fight the pain, her brain total wasn't liking this and plus being nervous came to the conclusion to change subjects again. "Ummm, well its was good that you got out of the ice room, so would you say that the Haunted House is sorta like a fun house but way more dangerous?" she asked still nervous and yet again more pain. She really needed to stop curling and uncurling her toes as one gave a loud pop.
"I just had a failed at my childhood and parts I just wanted to forget..." Tori said sheepishly and hey look change of subject again.
Nervousness combo with pain was not a good thing for Tori as of right now she didn't know how to total cope with it and leading her to have a short attention span to which Aklin was chucking at her over and trying to calm his little filly back down. She just wanted to scream and go hid as she knew that soon if she didn't get calmed back down she would start saying things at random.

"Parent-block?" Before supplied in reference to the disallowed cartoon shows for viewing. He scooted over to Tori's feet this time, frowning at her when she tried to flex them. "No moving! Not until the splints are in place," :/ "Wouldn't want to make things worse, yeah?"
It didn't take much for Before to notice Tori's nervousness. He himself exhibited that trait enough to know that the best way to deal with it is to change topics. Which the female trainee was doing and so he was going to go with it. "Reading's neat. I just didn't have enough attention to keep at it for too long. Unless it was a way awesome book! Did... did you ever read the Archie comics?" he ventured. He didn't want to ask Bix about it because... well... Archie comics were about as far away from superhero stuff in the level of cool.

"Yes! That is a good term for it," Tori replied while she did try really hard to hold still for her friend, but she now discovering a few new things that she didn't know about herself. "Ok, I'll try not too and you are right about that," she said as she was focusing on trying not to move and ignoring the pain to which Aklin was helping too by keeping her mind from wandering back to the pain. "I have never broken any of my bones before and the trials don't count eather," she added with a small whine, she wasn't like the pain, but knew she would have to deal with more later on.
Tori was still a little nervous but was not moving until Before had gotten all the splints on. "That it is. At one point I didn't eather, but it soon became one way I cope with things especially when I was seeing shadows," she replied while watching him wrap her toes and feet. "I actuality did read those comics every now and then. They were still parent-blocked but the help would leave them around the house were I would find them and I would read them and put them back in a place were they would find them and not my parents. It was all a game until I got caught with one of them, so I haven't read them for a while now," she added thinking back to that game that been fun while it lasted, the punishment hadn't been too much fun tho.

Before continued to wrap the bandages after applying the splints as the book directed, listening to Tori talk all throughout. When he finished, he began to arrange the materials and placed them back in order, "When we get some time off to go shopping and stuff, you wanna go together? You can totes buy the stuff your parents wouldn't let you back then! I won't tell!" he grinned, despite how the Lifer's sadness was making his own chest ache for her.
He had it easier compared to her. Sounded like her parents kept her on a very short leash while his parents were just. Not around. He carefully sat down on the bed beside her, leaning back until he was comfortably against the headboard. "I don't think things will be getting any better or easier for us on this Island," he softly murmured, then faced her with as bright a smile as he could muster. "But I got my best friends with me so it can't be that bad, yeah?"

Tori was very grateful for Before’s assistance on getting her hands and feet all taken cared of, she thought that she would have to do something for him for his help and for him listen to her ramblings. “Yes, I would really like that. We will defiantly have to have lots of fun too and you will have to totally show me what I have missed out on too,” she replied to her best friend and she also gave a little giggle at him total not telling her parents. “Also thanks for the help too,” she added smiling.
She had total been on a short leash by her parents and a puppet too. Carefully she had moved over to give Before a little more room and turned were she was facing him. Listening to what he said as he was right but it has been something that she has chosen to do and not forced on her. “I do think that you are right, but it will also make us stronger too,” Tori replied. “Yep that is total right! Best friends have to look out for each other and if you ever need help don’t hesitate to come to me for help, alright?”

Before scooted a little closer to Tori on the bed, but not too close that he'd accidentally bump into her or roll into her or anything of that sort. He grinned at her, "This'd totes be the part we do a fist-bump buuuuuuuuuuut~" he gestured to her newly bandaged hands, "Kinda counter-productive if we do."
He went quiet at that, the realization that they could have all died while he was stuck in limbo sinking in. Again, he leaned back against the headboard, teal eyes focusing on the Lifer's ceiling, trying not to think of the crushing weight that had caused her such injuries. He was also trying not to think of how he was in a girl's room. All alone. And that if this had been some stupid rom-com he would be making the moves on her.
Except he won't because she's his best friend and he still has that crush on Tika. But that doesn't mean he couldn't enjoy her company, right? "Hey, Story, can I just hang out here with you for a bit longer?"

Tori didn't mind at all that Before was scooting a little closer as she found it comforting to have her best friend near. "It would but we can just do it in our heads and then later on we can do it for real," she replied and it was also good to have someone that understood to were she had come from.
Listening to his requests and smiled. "You totally can, Before!" she replied still smiling, as she always enjoyed his company. "You also can come and hang out when ever you want too,"
