Wilson nodded with agreement. “It is, but sometimes I miss home and my friends. They didn’t fully know me, but they were still good friends.” His eyes turned soft, staring at the castle, but not quite. They were searching for the fading memories of people he used to know and care about, one of the reasons he had come here in the first place. But the look disappeared with a blink. “Sorry, I don’t. They’re all with my mom. She might have uploaded some online, though.” As to how Eva would find them after establishing an internet connection, Wilson didn’t know, but she was a death trainee. Maybe she would find a way. A thoughtful pause before he mused aloud, “I wonder how she’s doing?”
He raised an eyebrow at Eva. Really? “Yes, I’m sure.” Wilson glanced around for a clock. “I wonder if Dakota’s finished it too?” The trainee curiously drummed his fingers against the table before finally deciding to stand up. “Is it almost finished? I should probably go soon and head back to H’s office.” He frowned.
Also, he was totally going to take a picture of this castle of toast because come on castle of toast.

Eva's own expression may have softened a bit at Wilson's words, and she offered him a small smile. While friends had been hard to come by back home, she dearly missed her mother and father. After all, after everything they had gone through for her...
She shook the thoughts away, her smile becoming brighter as the man continued on. "Haha, awww! Well, maybe I'll find a way to dig them up from the net someday. Don't underestimate my snooping abilities." The young woman laughed, and then reached out to give Wilson another pat on the head. "And...I'm sure she's fine." Eva might have looked a little wistful then--what she wouldn't do to see or speak to her parents one more time.
Placing the finishing touch on the castle--a tiny piece of bread stuck to a toothpick to act as a flag--Eva jumped off of the table and beamed. "Yeah, we're done! Doesn't it look awesome?" She promptly pulled out her phone to snap a picture, turning briefly to nod at Wilson. "And sure! You'd better go and report back! Leave the clean up to me."
Ooooh, yes. After all that careful, meticulous work, she was looking forward to the clean-up.

Wilson managed to mirror her smile. “April Hopkins. My mom’s name is April Hopkins, if you ever decide you want to try finding those pictures.” An opportunity would be available to Eva eventually, he was sure of that, like when they left the trainees take a few days off for holiday shopping. He noticed the slight change in her expression as Eva patted on the head, but he chose to remain silent. It was difficult not to miss his parents. They were harsh at times, but they always meant well and cared for him so much.
He grinned as he took out his own phone. “Yeah. The best darn toast castle I’ve ever seen.” It was also the only toast castle he had ever seen, but it was the thought that counted, right? Wilson took a quick snapshot of the castle. “Really? You’ll clean up everything?” Guilt spread across his face. He had had a hand in the castle’s creation, so it seemed only fair that he help out a bit too, but then Dr. H… He took the gunk and promptly threw it into the trash before he headed for the door. “I really owe you, Eva. Thank you!”
