"Um. Um. M-most of it, I think, um," How the heck was he supposed to... what was the appropriate response to finding out... "Uh..." He cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses as he fished for a fresh napkin, "I.. I'm sorry if I um... I know... everyone... well, a lot of people think... but.. but I'm not. Um." His face was still flushed, unable to meet Jordan's gaze.
That you know of, Roar added helpfully.
"Sh-shut up!" He hissed as quietly as he could.

"No, I didn't really think you were." Jordan ran a hand through his hair. The corners of his mouth pulled down unhappily. "Which was half of why I'd resolved I was never saying anything. I was hoping you'd forgotten - that part of the conversation," he added, sounding tired.
The quietly hissed exclamation got a raised eyebrow, but no further comment.

"Jordan..." Jerry's face grew closer to it's normal color, "Look... I... I... I *do* love you, just... just... you know! Like a brother!" Oh goodness, how... how was he supposed to handle something like this? What did you SAY? He desperately didn't want there to be anything... weird between them, but... "It's... I mean..." His voice dropped down, glancing across the cafeteria to make sure no one was listening in, "I think it's good you didn't just keep it to yourself! We... um. So we can you know. Clear the air, ahahaha. Um. Or something."

"Jerry, I - " Jordan rubbed his hand over his eyes. "I know you don't - you're a good friend, dude." The edge of an accent had slipped unnoticed into his voice, stress making itself known. "That's all it is. I know that. You have Candace, and I don't want to interfere with what you've got there. I'll get over it. I screwed up, and I'm sorry - please, just let me - it doesn't change anything. I've been dealing. I'll deal."
He met Jerry's eyes for a moment, then looked away again. "I'll be fine."

Jerry's face looked strained, eyes shifting as he seemed to be rapidly trying to think and sift and understand, "I don't want you to... to cope...." He was suddenly very uncomfortable, but it had nothing to do with sexual preference. "I've... Jeeze, ahaha... I've um. N-never had um. This situation before." He flailed again, not wanting Jordan to feel any worse, "I mean... I mean ANYONE... feeling um. Like that. About me. Let alone... I mean... more than.. than one person. It's... er. Entirely um. New to me." He suddenly wondered if they should take this discussion somewhere less public, but so far no one seemed to suspect anything but two friends having a quiet heart to heart in the corner. Hopefully everyone thought they were just talking about a new mission or anything else.

A moment of hurt flickered in Jordan's eyes, then was smoothed away. He smiled a little, a careful, wry expression. "Next thing you know, you'll have to fend them off with a stick," he said lightly.

Jerry looked horrified by the idea, suddenly glancing to Jordan with absolute horrified seriousness, "I... I should probably figure out what it is I'm doing to get this attention and stop doing it." He didn't want to go hitting anyone with a stick, thank you! Especially not Jordan.

Jordan blinked twice, then put his head down on the table and started laughing, unable to help it. "I didn't mean it literally," he said muffledly. At least the outright ridiculousness of the comment had chased away some of the weird tension.

"Ahahahaha...." He sagged a little bit, rhythmically tapping his fingers on the table for a moment, "I am uh... really flattered though. And I'm glad we er... talked about it now before it could have gotten more embarrassing. That whole, 'don't ask don't tell' thing is pretty inconvenient, really."

"I guess so." Jordan sat back again and half-smiled. "No more accidental awkward, anyway. Just the regular kind."
Just as well, Ferros said. He probably wouldn't appreciate your technique properly anyway. The dragon provided a helpful mental image to illustrate his point.
"W-WHAT?" Jordan yelped, and then realized he'd been much louder than he'd meant to be. He slouched down slightly in his chair, turning bright red. Jesus ******** christ, Ferros, don't DO that!
It got you to stop moping, Ferros snickered.

"Ahahaha no problem with that- What what?" Once again, Jerry tensed, as though it was something he had said that had gone awry again. He debated asking if he was ok, but considering everything that was going on.... "Did you er... get breakfast yet?" Just... act like nothing had happened. It wouldn't be weird.

"Ferros," Jordan groaned. "I'm not repeating what he said. You don't want to know anyway, believe me."
Change of topic, excellent idea. "I could really use some coffee and toast," he said.

"Yeah, me too. And a fresh pair of pants, ahahaha." Relieved, Jerry stood again, crushing his empty coffee cup to toss on his way back to the cafeteria line.
In the back of his head, Roar had gone sullenly quiet... but pondering. He definitely needed a talk with the human, but now wouldn't be a god time. There were too many distractions to help the insufferable man to ignore him. But he made mental notes, all the same.
