Nona hated hospitals. Winhill Garden’s infirmary was no better. The greenery did nothing to liven up the sterile white rooms where there was nothing to do but stare up at the ceiling and think. She could deal with the pain, but every hour spent staring up at the ceiling with her mind running was inescapably loathsome. Perhaps incoming news that she had passed the exam with flying colors would have lessened the ordeal, but she couldn’t even convince herself of that. The whole exam had felt like it lasted for days, but lying on the hospital bed, her thoughts could not escape those final moments of consciousness. She had begun to fade out in Eamonn’s arms already, probably causing Bahamut to vanish, but she had been hurled back into the waking world by a storm of clashing black and white. It wasn’t just another Flare, or even Alexander, she was sure. Was it that same SeeD who was backing up Galbadia? Maybe. The infirmary staff refused to answer questions about the exam, and she was not in a shared room. She hadn’t learned that anyone else had survived until, on her first day in the infirmary, she grabbed a nurse by the collar and demanded answers. Even the morphine in her system hadn’t lessened the iron grip enough for the poor woman to wriggle free without telling the girl her team was all in stable condition or not even in the medical ward.
It was more than fortunate that Nona had survived at all. Much as she hated to admit it, if Eamonn and Sou-Ho hadn’t been there, she wouldn’t have made it off the bridge. Their late start meant they weren’t in the blast radius of...whatever it was which tore the bridge in half. It sent them plummeting into the river below. The following minutes had been a nightmarish tangle of half a dozen ways to die, but she remembered the two operatives at her side. The stubborn girl had refused to let go of her guitar even when she was threatened with drowning, but they got her and themselves to shore. She blacked out then and the cycle of miniature days and nights had begun; more spasms of consciousness and sleep than she could keep track of except that every second of it she wanted to be out of that bed.
At last she had been discharged. A last round of healing magic and some time to flush the drugs out of her system had been the course of the morning, but at last she was up and able to move. Some clothes had been brought from her dormitory, and her waterlogged guitar had been deposited back there. Much as she wanted to remain surly, while getting dressed Nona had to admire the doctors’ work. She didn’t have a scar on her and, truth be told, wasn’t even sore besides a bit of stiffness from the extended bed rest. Once she was clothed, she went about a series of simple stretches to work some of this out of her bones, before she made her way out of the infirmary. She resisted the impulse to look in on any other rooms. She had heard enough groans of pain in her waking hours to tell that she was not the one in the worst shape even upon arrival.
Stepping out along one of the walkways toward the center of the Garden, Nona thought she glimpsed a part of the psychology in its design. This was a home for mercenaries; people willing to risk death for their payment and prestige. It was a place that heralded lives of violence and tragedy. Yet it was filled with serene architecture and plant life, as if the whole place tried to defy its purpose. No, that was too charitable; but it seemed to offer a place of calm serenity that, perhaps, these people could hold on to in between bouts of horror.
Then what are SeeDs? We certainly don’t make our living trying to sew new life, she reflected as she stared at the central pillar of the structure which was ringed by a luscious flowerbed. Well. One piece at a time.

Darkness. She was floating in it, eyes half closed as she fell, or at least she thought she was falling. She'd been like this for a long time, unable to move, unable to really do anything. She just fell, or floated. At times, she closed her eyes, at times she tried to look around. There was nothing. She knew she was hurt, but she didn't know why she knew that. She knew she had been in danger, but she also knew that now she was safe. She knew she was being weak, but she couldn't be strong because she didn't know what she was being weak about. She knew she was making people worry. She could hear the voices from time to time, wishing she could call out and say everything was alright, that she was fine. She had heard her brother, though he had only said hello. She had felt his presence for a long time, and then felt him leave. She wanted to call him back, but she knew she couldn't, and she didn't want to hold him up. He probably needed time himself... she just didn't know why she thought that. Nothing made sense to her as things were. She felt like she was lost in a sea of darkness. She was so used to it, so used to feeling the warm presences of others around, but never knowing for sure who they were unless they spoke to her. She knew Tae waited and she knew her brother waited. It was scary, feeling like she was letting them down. She needed to get a hold of herself... That was why she didn't expect it when she blinked and was staring into the face of a fox with wings.
She blinked as she stared at it in surprise, the fox like creature just watching her. Suddenly, she remembered. She had been standing on the bridge, watching the others when the attack had hit. Azale... had jumped in front of her, Ellale feeling a pull on her body as she felt a bond connect with Azale, and then... nothing. Time stopped, completely frozen, the world moving on around them, before everything reverted to normal, Ellale passing out and falling to the water below. She didn't remember anything after that, nor what had happened with the fox, though clearly... Azale watched the girl with a passive look before slowly starting to disappear. "Wake, little one. You're not going to die just yet." Ellale opened her mouth to speak, but no noise came out, instead, she felt the sensation of falling rapidly, and then... light.
She was aware of first the feeling of the air, slightly chilly, and then the feeling of the blankets that surrounded her and kept her warm, and then the feeling of the warm sun on her body from the window next to her. Then came the awareness of someone else in the room, and then the feeling of her sore body trying to move, sending waves of pain to her head. She hadn't even twitched, but the notion of movement was too much. She'd been bed ridden for three days without moving, of course she would be stiff. She let out a groan, though it was soft, forcing her hand up to rub her eyes before she slowly opened them, being blinded by the light almost instantly, forcing her eyes closed a moment later with a complaining noise. She shifted in the bed, covering her eyes as she slowly opened them, still partially blinded by the light, but her eyes were adjusting quickly, taking in the room around her. It wasn't large, and there were no machines hooked up to her aside from an IV in her arm to keep her hydrated since she couldn't do that for herself.
She focused, first, on the flowers next to her bed. She could see the face scrawled on them, Lloyd. There were others, but these were the most well off. She smiled lightly before turning her head and freezing for a moment, seeing Tae. She hesitated for a moment before smiling, relaxing as she watched Tae. She was asleep, her head resting against the arm of the chair next to the bed. She looked so peaceful like that, almost like nothing was wrong. Still, Ellale could see where Tae had been hurt, faint marks remaining that would probably heal with time. It was rare to see Tae so at peace, sleeping in the sun coming through the window. She was probably tired... and because of that Ellale wasn't sure she should make any noise to wake her. It was okay for her to watch her friend sleep anyways. She looked so differently sleeping... Ellale shook her head lightly, clearing the thoughts that started to creep in before turning her head to the ceiling, her yellow eyes watching it intently. So warm...
Barely realizing it, Ellale shook herself awake, having started to realize she was falling back asleep by not moving. She was done with sleeping, even if it was a warm feeling that she wanted to welcome. She slowly shifted in the bed, reaching up and rubbing her eyes again. "Nya... so sleepy..." She whispered, careful to not be so loud as to wake Tae. How long had she been out? Where was Kalay, where was everyone? What was Tae doing staying by her side until she fell asleep from being so tired... honestly, Ellale wished she could trade places with Tae and let her have the bed if she was so sleepy. If she'd been awake she wouldn't have minded sharing with Tae if the girl had been sleepy... the thought brought a faint blush to Ellale's cheeks that she quickly rubbed, clearing it away. 'Baaaaad....' She thought before opening her eyes at the ceiling. It was so quiet in her room... there being almost no noise at all anywhere. It was kinda unnerving, aside from the faint sound of people moving outside of the room. She wondered how Tae had managed to fall asleep in such silence... or maybe it was the silence that had put her to sleep. It was hard to say.┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Magic

Magic Fire (6) | Fira (4) | ??? (2) | ??? (2) | ??? (1) Eamonn! Lost in thought, and fiddling with a necklace that hung around his neck, Eamonn came to an abrupt stop as a voice called out to him. For a moment he stood there, frowning with a look of confusion before he heard the voice call out to him again, confirming what he had hoped. What do you want? Eamonn ask sourly, scowling when he saw Sou-Ho. Don't you have little kiddies to teach? Sou-Ho's eyes flashed cold for an instant, and as the instructor came to a halt several paces from Eamonn the two glared at one another, their natural elements conflicting with each other so strongly a passerbyer might have witnessed the aura each was omitting to intimidate the other.
Eventually Sou-Ho sighed, straightening up even more before opening his eyes and delivering Eamonn a cool and level look. I would like to request your aid again. Before Sou-Ho could get much further than that Eamonn barked a laugh, throwing his head back. What? So I can get myself blown up even more? No sir, burn you and burn your flaming missions! I'm going back to solo and that is that! Turning away from Sou-Ho, the red-haired man continued to walk in the direction of the platform that would transport him to the cafeteria, now striding rather than walking in the daze he had been in earlier. I want you to lead the next mission! That caught his attention. Eamonn came to a halt, just short of the doors which opened up automatically to permit his passage. Excuse me? Eamonn asked, turning around and staring at Sou-Ho.
I would like you to lead the next mission. I have not yet read the details of the mission, and would lead it myself if I were not charged with another task. As of now I feel that the success of the mission is of the utmost importance. You would need to be ready to depart by tomorrow morning, when you will be debriefed on the details of the mission alongside others I intend on recruiting. Eamonn's eyes narrowed as Sou-Ho spoke, his body growing as tense as he felt. Not three days back and you guys already want to send us off? Must be flaming crazy if you think I'd agree, leading or not. Why don't you have someone else do it? Kalay or somebody. Because Kalay is an instructor whose place is here, in Winhill Garden. I need someone with leadership capabilities. I believe that this chance could help polish those abilities, and might earn you further recognition as a SeeD. Eamonn clicked his tongue, crossing his arms and staring at Sou-Ho with a look that burned. And what exactly are the details of this mission? He asked, already regretting it. Sou-Ho was silent, look calculating for a moment before replying. I will tell you only if you agree.
I see, basically he's got his back against the wall. Eamonn thought, sensing the desperation. Feh. Whatever, I agree. Just tell me what the bloody mission is and I'll flaming lead this damned expedition. Sou-Ho seemed to relax visibly at Eamonn's consent, and as he stepped closer Eamonn tensed, almost as if he expected Sou-Ho to attack him. Sou-Ho gave him an odd look, as if he were wondering the same thing, but as he stepped close he spoke in a hushed voice. I have not read the complete details, but I can at least tell you what to expect. Remember: You cannot back down from this! Once I have told you what the mission is you cannot change your mind. Eamonn nodded impatiently, huffing. I know the flaming protocol, just tell me what I signed my death warrant to. Staring at him for another moment, Sou-Ho leaned forward, whispering the mission to Eamonn's ears.
-----------
Give me fifty burgers, NOW! The woman at the counter looked rather startled when Eamonn approached the hamburger line, slamming his fists down almost violently as he made his order. "f-fifty? A... are you sure?" She asked, staring at him warily. That's what I flaming said, isn't it?! Eamonn barked, clenching a fist and glaring. "Yes! I understand, fifty it is! She exclaimed frightfully, inputting the orders into the computer nervously while trying to keep an eye on him. A second later a collective groan from the kitchens announcing they had received the order, and Eamonn clicked his tongue. Paying, Eamonn stood and tapped his foot impatiently, arms crossed and expression dangerous as he waited for the food. When it came, he snatched the tray, piled sky high with burgers, and made his way to the center of the cafeteria to an empty table. Slamming the tray down and plopping into his seat, Eamonn wasted no time in grabbing one of the hamburgers and bringing it to his mouth, taking a large bite and eating it with a voracious appetite. Son of a flaming goat! Eamonn swore inwardly, quickly finishing the burger and reaching up for another. Son of a flaming goat!! What the Hell did I agree to?!

Junction //~ Zethar Level //~ 7 {+6 exp} Health //~ 600/600 Location //~ Winhill Garden, on the field with Kalay and Carbuncle Magic //~ Blizzard (2), Aero (1), Haste (1), Cure (2)▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬⊰ ✮ ⊱▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Typical Kalay, nothing seemed to phase him. He’d barely reacted to a thing she said…and yet it was comforting, in a way. It was good to see he was still the same person. Even if the world was falling down around him. Lisanna expected there was very little that would make him freak out like everyone else did. Because of the mission people had been stressed and scared and panicking, even if they tried not to show it she could tell from the atmosphere around them. It was…tense. But here he was, like a calm island amidst a stormy sea. Lisanna smiled down at Carbuncle as the GF laid his head on her lap. She stroked him gently, running her hand over his silky fur and occasionally playing with his ears a little bit. ”Nevertheless, I owe you my life. The least I can give you is my gratitude.” She said softly, closing her eyes as she felt the faint summer breeze stir through her hair. It really was lovely here…she could see why Kalay spent so much of his time lying in these fields. It was so peaceful. She continued to stroke Carbuncle calmly, enjoying the warmth of the sunlight shining down upon them. At Kalay’s next comment, about keeping busy, she glanced across at him, hesitating briefly before speaking. ”Indeed it does help…perhaps that is why I see nightmares in your eyes so often, then…” She kept her gaze steady on him for a moment, her voice quiet. She was speaking figuratively, of course. She knew something haunted him…and that it had for some time. Some dark memory of his past that had irrevocably marked him. What it could be, she didn’t know. Nor did she care to unless he wished to tell her. It wasn’t her business. Lisanna looked off into the distance, not pressing the matter any further. ”I am glad that you have Carbuncle with you…” She breathed after a moment, sounding genuinely honest. ”I am glad you are not alone…” She sighed softly, absentmindedly scratching the GF behind the ears a little bit.
At his comments about Ellale she smiled gently again. ”Well, it’s not hard to see why she has many friends, really. She’s a lovely girl.” Lisanna said in a matter of fact tone. Despite Kalay’s cool conduct on the subject of his sister, she could see he was more concerned than he let on. ”With so many who care for her, including her big brother, how can she not pull through?” The girl chuckled slightly, but soon grew solemn again at Kalay’s remarks about the students in general. He was right, they had not been ready for the mission. Or at least for how it turned out, in the end. She went quiet for a minute before speaking again. ”I have done what I can, I think. I suppose we can only hope that this…this makes them realise what it truly is to be a SeeD. Hope that they can overcome this, despite everything. It will be a hard lesson for them to learn, but those who learn it will make the strongest SeeDs.” She nodded, as if reassuring herself more than Kalay, and settled back into a friendly silence beside him, her fingers lightly scratching under Carbuncle’s furry tummy. Her own exam years ago had been straightforward, and whilst difficult in its own right nothing like the horrific experience these students had been put through. Since then Lisanna had been on enough missions to learn to accept death and violence. She still didn’t enjoy fighting, but it was her duty and so she would do it. Especially since she liked to hope it made a difference in people’s lives, for the better.
She glanced across at Kalay as he asked her how she was, and whether she was holding up. Truthfully…she felt alright. She had not been conscious for the last part of the exam, so she had not seen what was probably the most traumatic part of the mission: the destruction of the bridge, and all those who were on it. The worst memory for her was probably….seeing Kalay gravely injured at the beginning of the mission. And she could push that awful memory aside knowing he was okay now. She smiled and shook her head. ”I am okay, as always. Don’t worry about me, Kal. I can deal with things just fine on my own.” She shrugged lightly, playing with Carbuncle’s ears again. It was true, she had no family, no real friends…she was used to being by herself. ”Perhaps one day I’ll have someone to be there for me like that, but if not, that’s fine. I think some of us are just meant to be alone.” She drew in a breath and smiled reassuringly at him, not intending for her words to sound sad. She was content enough with her life as it was, after all. She clapped her hands together lightly, her blue eyes widening as she remembered something. ”Oh! Before I forget, will you be attending the ball this evening?” She asked, tilting her head. She reckoned he would probably say no, but quite frankly she wasn’t going to let him off that easy. If she had to dress him up and drag him there herself she would…it was just polite to ask him first. He didn’t even have to go with her as a partner, she just thought he should be there to enjoy the fun. Or at least just for the distraction it would provide. ”It will be a lovely evening, I’m sure. I’d really like to see you there.” Her blue eyes lit up a little as she waited for his response.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬⊰ ✮ ⊱▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬'I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

She couldn't believe she was so stupid to bring it up just because she didn't want to have to tell Lloyd she wasn't going to the ball. She was starting to feel really selfish. Sophia slowly looked up a Riyel as he seemed to have the Sadness in his voice too. Sophia tensed up and took another step make, making Lloyds hand fall off her arm. "I-I'm sorry" She said and spun on her heal, running off. Her first thought was to run to the dorms. Thats where she needed to go, Back to her dorm where no one can talk to her or bother her. Where she can't make anyone sad.
Sophia brought her arm to her eyes to wipe her face clear of tears. In the few seconds she closed her eyes she smacked right into someone, and fell to her butt. Sophia winced a bit and rubbed her head, looking up to see she had ran right into Nona. "I-I'm sorry." She quickly said and pushed herself up off the ground. "I...." Sophia stuttered and again just spit out the word "...Sorry." Then continued running to her dorm.
Once in her dorm Sophia softly sighed and carefully closed the door behind her. She walked over and sat on her bed. Looking around her room before curling up on her bed, still holding her books. Why am I such a failure.... She thought as she gripped her books. She sighed and sat back up, deciding that she should go back to studying and stop making friends. She opened her book, laid it on her bed and started reading more on Magic.

Look, look!” Standing amongst the flowers were two small children. One of them was holding a net closed as the two of them stared into it.
“It’s so pretty, mama would think so.” The boy nodded in agreement before he opened the net and allowed the beautiful butterfly escape and fly off, the two children watched it with a free expression. The children then darted off giggling, the boy holding onto the girls hand as they skipped through the long grass and flowers.
Sitting among the shorter grass the girl pulled out the blanket she had tucked in her other hand along with a small box and sat down on the blanket. She patted a spot beside her for the boy to sit down, but instead of sitting he tackled her. The two burst into a fit of giggles rolling before they stopped and stared up at the sky on their backs watching as the clouds passed by.
“Promise not to ever leave me alone?” The girl asked with a smile yet a serious look in her eyes. Was it fear that hid in their depths? “I promise.” He spoke to her. --- Tae watched the dream play out pain shooting through her body, it was a familiar pain. You lied. You left me, why?
A voice spoke from out of nowhere as the dream faded away, as the memory went back into hiding once more. I thought it was for the best. I didn’t mean to hurt you.
Lies. You lie. Why? I think you honestly enjoy hurting me— pain shot through her once more in her heart her jaw clenching closed on her words.
Tae, don’t— ------------ The girl flinched as something filled her pulling her from her sleep. A deep, sharp intake of air could be heard as she released it in a sigh. Her eyes slowly blinking open, squinting slightly as the sunlight shined in from the window. Her head rested against the arm of the chair she’d been sitting in for hours. She’d lost count on exactly how long she’d been here. Ever since she’d awakened in the room she recalled. Lifting her head she winced as her neck felt sore. Yup, she’d been sleeping for a while at least. Ellale had been sleeping quietly for so long, apparently since arriving here. From the whispers it was a close call, and not just for Ellale, but for many of the candidates. Not that she went to see any of them. None of them held any ties with Tae, not that she was really that heartless. No, that wasn’t it at all. It was hard to describe it in words. More so towards the nurses that wouldn’t let her go. Yes, she’d left on her own free will when she managed to find her feet and moved to Ellale’s side. That was where she stayed. Of course she got scolded from one of the nurses for leaving. They had finally given in seeing as she wasn’t going to leave Ellale’s side, they just took care of her there. Her eyes moved to rest upon the girl once more before blinking. ”Kitten?” Her soft voice spoke almost unsure if she was truly awake. Tears sprung to her eyes. Unfolding her legs putting her feet on the floor she sat there for a moment as if that single fluid movement had taken a lot from her. She then proceeded to push herself up from the chair and moved to the bed side perching herself upon the edge as she slid her hand into Ellale’s. ”You’re awake. Yes, seeing her yellow eyes was relieving, enough to send the tears that had sprung to her eyes spilling over her pale cheeks and dripping either onto the bed or their hands. Sitting there it was hard to tell if Tae was in any pain. Sure it was clear she was worse for wear at the moment, but other than that, how much pain she was really in was hard to tell. For most students their loud complains or moans and cry’s or the pain was very clean on their face or even just looking at them one could tell. ”How are you feeling?” She asked after a moment of gazing at her and swiping away the tears that escaped and tickled down her cheeks. She didn’t really understand why she was crying and couldn’t stop it either. Her eyes were still slightly red and blood shot looking as she rubbed and wiped with her free hand at her face. Was that a result from the explosion or had she been crying earlier? ღOOC: I may change the format. But for now I'm just going to leave it as you see it. ღ

It would take much more than a bad ending to change the type of person Kalay was. Actually, it would take something good, perhaps. He was like this to keep from being too bothered by the things he saw and went through, so in return something really good would probably have to happen to make him change from his impassive ways. It was a curious notion, and perhaps true but it was hard to say for sure. Either way, Carbuncle absolutely adored being... well adored. Kalay could see it in the way the rabbit like GF relaxed against Lisanna, letting her play with his ears and stroke him. Kalay's eyes watched the two briefly before Lisanna glanced over at him, speaking calmly. There was no change in his expression as he watched her with an even gaze. She had to know confronting him wouldn't get any answers. He could see it in her eyes, and the way of voice was quiet, but stil she said it. She never pressed him to know what it was though. It was simply interesting that she even recognized he had the nightmares. She'd been the first person... in years. There were only a handful who even knew why, and his sister wasn't even one of them. "Perhaps..." That was the answer she received as she looked to the distance on the matter, Kalay's own eyes turning back to the sky. He didn't deny it, nor did he give any ground on what it was. He was... relaxed as usual.
He didn't have much to respond to on when she mentioned she was glad he wasn't alone. It was the same concept as how he was glad she kept busy to keep the thoughts away. The conversation shifted for a moment, talking about Ellale. The young man managed a faint smile as he watched the sky. Of course, then the conversation grew serious, Kalay's smile fading as they Lisanna mentioned that the lesson for the students to be learned was important. 'The only lesson there is is that if you're a SeeD, you die.' A harsh reality, but a truth, he knew. 'You die no matter what, but would you prefer doing something with that life, even if it's killing others. That's the difference.' He thought these, noticing Carbuncle shifting slightly on Lisanna as she stroked him. Of course, she shouldn't have been surprised in the slightest when two pairs of eyes glanced at her when she said to not worry about her, that she would be fine. Carbuncle's red eyes looked up at her while Kalay's yellow did. Neither made a sound, at least not that Lisanna could hear. It was her words that prompted the voice in Kalay's head, actually.
"She doesn't know..." The quiet voice whispered in his head. Kalay slowly sat up and turned his eyes to the distance, watching the school as Carbuncle continued to watch Lisanna. It enjoyed being petted, but it seemed almost troubled as it looked up at her. "Why don't you say anything...? It doesn't have to be anything special, Kalay. Just tell her something, help her relax." The voice asked softly. He hesitated for the moment, and then something was said. "You're not meant to be alone, you just have to open up to someone willing to listen. They're there." It was cryptic, but Carbuncle couldn't complain as he closed his eyes and shifting on Lisanna's leg to go back to sleeping. What's more, Kalay's voice was soft enough that she might not have heard it over the gently blowing wind. It wasn't endearing, nor was it even really specific on anything. It was something though. The fact he'd opened his mouth at all and said something was all the GF could ask for from him.
What had been quiet about the moment was ended at Lisanna's clap, Carbuncle's eyes opening with a start before he got up, shifting, and laid back down against her leg as if she'd annoyed him with the noise. As Kalay was now sitting up, he didn't have to look at her even as she asked, he just kept his eyes forward. He wasn't being cold, just... perhaps a bit distant? It was possible. After a moment he smiled lightly as he shook his head. "No, I don't intend on going. I've no reason to go. I think it best to leave the students to have their fun. Plus, I don't have anyone who would want to go with me. Formal clothing is stuffy anyways." He spoke loud enough now for Lisanna to hear him for sure as he glanced over at her with a smile, looking back forward a moment later. "I don't know why you'd be excited to see me there, though. I'm not the most social butterfly." Had he just made a joke? He definitely had, there was little doubt about it as he watched the buildings in the distance, seeing faint outlines of people moving about from the windows. Carbuncle actually shifted before pawing Lisanna's leg before glancing over at Kalay and going back to laying as if nothing had happened next to Lisanna.

「 Ellale 'Cat' Laytos 」 {Junctions}- "Azale" {Level}- "Five" {Health}- 350/350 {Location}- "Infirmary-nya...?" ┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉
Ellale had started to doze off from laying in the bed when she heard the sharp intake of breath next to her. The reason was because even though she had been sleeping for so long, that meant very little. Her body was lethargic, and didn't want to be moving. Still, with a little effort she blinked sleep from her eyes as she focused on the female next to her. It was kinda funny to watch her start moving, Tae's body obviously sore from having slept in the chair, and probably from other things. Regardless, Ellale had no idea how much time had passed since her passing out, so she didn't know how long that Tae had managed to get to rest. Of course, it was interesting when Tae's eyes met hers, the red meeting the yellow with surprise. A smile slid onto Ellale's face as Tae sat up and watched her, almost as if she didn't know what to do. "Nya, Tae!" That happy tone sounded very much alive and well as Tae forced herself up and went to the edge of Ellale's bed, taking her hand without much hesitation. Her face had a gentle smile on it as she watched Tae. Even if she was awake and clearly more like herself, she was rather calm. It was probably from the difficulty adapting to being awake again though.
With a faint groan, Ellale shifted closer to Tae before forcing herself into a sitting position and hugging her friend tightly, though tightly to Ellale was little more than a gentle hug considering her body was still getting used to being awake and moving. "Of course I'm awake, silly. I can't sleep all day or you might get lonely!" It was almost like she'd never been asleep at all or been through almost dying like everyone else. Her voice was so calm and composed, and happy. It was probably incredibly to see considering everything. Ellale didn't even mind the tears that fell on her as she hugged her friend. It really didn't matter as she closed her eyes and rested like that, just getting up to hug her having taken a lot of her energy. She was getting better though, a few minutes earlier and she wouldn't have even been able to sit up like she had. The moment didn't last long before Ellale's grip loosened slightly, the girl getting tired from trying to hold Tae close.
"I feel fine, just a little sleepy. I need to really get up and move about though. Not to mention take a bath. I feel like I've been laying in bed for a week. That's no fun at all." Ellale's tone was complaining, but in an almost happy way. She really was okay, and she really did feel like she needed a bath, and she definitely felt like she needed to get up and move about. This whole laying and doing nothing wasn't working for her, it would drive her insane at this rate. "But how about you, Tae? I saw you sleeping next to my bed. You know, you could have just told the nurses to move me over if you were so tired. I wouldn't have minded sharing, nya." With the random 'nya' at the end, Ellale released Tae to allow her to sit if she needed to. Honestly, Ellale didn't know how tired Tae was. She only knew that she, herself, was exhausted. She wanted to get up and be moving though! The warm room was nice and all, but nothing beat being able to move around and enjoy the warmth. Hopefully a nurse would come in soon and let her go. She wanted to be up and moving! Which reminded her... "How long have I been out for?"┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉┉ Magic

His thoughts were dwelling on what had passed between Eamonn and himself, as well as what information he had gather when he read a section of the mission details in the elevator. I cannot say that was the most honorable method in recruiting Eamonn Lancaster, but I don't think any other would have gone quite so well in ensuring his consent. I just hope he will keep strong in what he has to face, tomorrow. He can't falter in the face of something like this. But who could blame him? Weak, strong, whoever the man they usually knew, whether through instinct, fear, or experience, when something was too out of their control to deal with, and no doubt Eamonn was going to b e feeling that. In truth, Sou-Ho himself was. Nothing could have prepared him for what was going to happen, and he couldn't imagine how those he recruited would either. And I'll be the one to condemn them to their deaths. Sou-Ho thought, grimacing darkly as the turned a corner and came into the hall his own dorm was.
It was a dorm like any other, his position as an instructor and the grandson of Winhill's headmaster made him no exception and just like everyone else he lived, breathed, and ate as they did. Even with the money he raked in from his rank, his teaching, and his occasional missions he still lived rather humbly, most of the money he made going into savings and stored for later uses, some of it actually being donated to the garden for the sake of seeing certain programs getting the proper funding. He had no use of the money, as his life was with the Garden, and he didn't have the time for any other luxuries that money could afford. It was as he came to his door, dwelling still yet on his thoughts and concerns with the mission, as well as who he would recruit, he became aware of Ivaria, and she spoke up, having seemingly been waiting for him.
You know that it is prohibited to smoke on school grounds, Kaizen. Sou-Ho said coolly, stopping in front of his door without looking at the operative. It could not be said he had was ignoring her comment on how things had gone with his grandfather, but it was clear he had no intentions of discussing them with her, or likely anyone. And I don't believe I need to say how most unbecoming it is for you to swear as a young lady, Not that he could talk much, his age not being much different than her. He visibly grimaced when she mentioned the exceedingly high body count that was calculated from the last mission, and it was then Sou-Ho turned and gave her a full blast of his chilling gaze. Macaria, as well as everyone else, died doing what they believed in. Their families will be compensated for their deaths, and sent any other honors they deserved. But as he grasped the handle of his door, be paused and looked back to her, expression now calculating.
As a matter of fact, I think I could make use of you. He said, not all considering what it was he said or how any other person might have responded or taken it, merely stating what he felt and continuing on. The next mission will need all of the experienced hands that it can get. Right now the only available operatives will be those who have survived Aurel and will be graduating today. As of the moment I have recruited Eamonn Lancaster to lead the team I am putting together. If you are fully rested your aid would be welcomed. Sou-Ho had never worked with Ivaria before, but doing the work he did with his grandfather, as well as instructing and as an operative, he had heard enough to know that Ivaria Kaizen was at least a competent SeeD, and could, possibly, be counted on for this next mission. At least, one more trained and experienced arm that would help keep whatever poor souls ended up going on the mission would be more than welcomed by him.

Ivaria Kaizen Level: 7 Health: 800/800 Mood: Let's see how this goes... Location: Winhill Garden, Outside Sou-Ho's room Guardian Force: Ares Theme Music: And today, I leave you But I’ll be back someday And as I fly away My hope is that we’ll meet again I’m off to my home away from home I will miss you, but I know you know
I’m coming home to Winhill A rolling of her eyes showed the uncaring at his first words to her. Since when did she ever care about smoking or whatnot? She did it and only hell freezing over would make her stop. And the swearing...young lady? HA! That was laughable. Ivaria was older than Sou-Ho was! "Bla bla bla bla bla..." She muttered as she looked up at Sou-Ho. "I'm no little girl." But not even Sou-Ho's rigid ice glare showed no affect upon her face, almost as if she simply brushed it off. Placing the pipe in her mouth, she simply looked into Sou-Ho's eyes with the look of...boredom. Sou-Ho didn't scare her like he did the others. Really, if she didn't hold any respect for him, she would have laughed if she decided to use the energy for such a waste less purpose. Sou-Ho was quite the individual when it came to the Garden and that simply placed him high on the honors list in Ivaria's book. "You know I meant no disrespect. Just stating a fact...relax"
That was what she was really. A bookworm that had arms, legs, and swords. A bookworm that would not hesitate to open a can of butt kicking if the birds messed with her. Looking up and down at Sou-Ho before reverting her vision back towards his own eyes, she continued to listen to the man before her. The pipe continued to leak a steady trail of smoke while off and on she took it out, almost as if pondering something before once more returning it to the holster that was her mouth. "You actually got Eamonn to do something for you...surprising." She muttered quietly, "The rest of the graduates though? I checked the rosters...many were injured and many have equally just recovered as of today. The old man wants to send them out so early? For what.....death sentence could that possibly be...or rather, what could be so damnably important?" Her eyes flashed up to Sou-Ho before standing, moving to cut the man off from the door.
"I'll only help...if you tell me the survival rates that YOU estimate from this mission, especially with those newbies. I don't like this..." Her teeth clamped upon the pipe as if to emphasis the point she was making. The tone of voice that she endured throughout their entire conversation ensued with its relaxed nature but her face portrayed an underlying sense of urgency. Her eyes grew seemingly colder as she blocked the man from the dorm. Obviously, she didn't aim to move unless her wants were fulfilled.
I’ll take you everywhere I go I’ll show you everything I see And as we say so long I know your tears wish me well It won’t be long till I’m back again We will meet again, we will meet again, you’ll see
I’m coming home to Winhill

Junction //~ Zethar Level //~ 7 {+6 exp} Health //~ 600/600 Location //~ Winhill Garden, on the field with Kalay and Carbuncle Magic //~ Blizzard (2), Aero (1), Haste (1), Cure (2)▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬⊰ ✮ ⊱▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬Though his voice was so soft she barely heard it, Kalay’s cryptic comment resulted in a curious look from Lisanna. Was he trying to be supportive, or was there a deeper meaning to his words? She didn’t see why he should feel the need to be supportive…she hadn’t meant her remarks to be taken negatively. It was just how it was. She was used to being alone, and she was quite content with that. She didn’t expect any more. It was just sometimes she thought it would be nice to have a personal connection on that deep a level, like that of close friends, family, or even lovers. She had none of those. Even Kalay, whom she knew to be a very private person, had Carbuncle to confide in if he wished. He was arguably the closest friend she had, but she’d never ask more of him. She already thought she inflicted her presence on him more often than he probably wanted given how distant he was sometimes. If there was a deeper meaning to his words she didn’t understand it, but she thought she should probably say something anyway. She looked away for a moment, biting her lip. ”Ah…thanks…?” She said after a moment, her voice quiet.
”Sorry sweetie, did I startle you…?” The girl murmured softly to Carbuncle, noticing that the creature was discomforted by her light clap, even though she hadn’t intended for it to be that loud at all. She slipped her hands around him gently and lifted him up into her arms, cradling him rather like a baby. Of course if he gave the slightest indication he didn’t like it she would put him down again, but for the time being she held him cradled in her left arm, her right hand stroking his furry little cheek. It was nice to just cuddle him like this…Zeth was far too big and bad tempered for such things. As GF’s they were fundamentally different though. Lisanna knew she could never have Zeth summoned for as long as Kalay had Carbuncle. Perhaps if he was just a pup…? A little white bundle of fur falling over at her ankles…the thought made her smile. He’d be no use in battle of course, but at least he’d be adorable. She’d have to remember to mention this to him later. He’d grumble, but she liked teasing him. ”Hm…?” Her attention was drawn back to the present by Kalay’s voice, and she realised she’d been daydreaming for a moment there.
The girl was disappointed to hear that Kalay did not intend to go to the ball, but hardly surprised. She looked up at him, pouting a little. ”Awh, but why should we let the students have all the fun? C’mon, Kal, it’ll be a good distraction for us all. And I don’t think anyone’s going to complain if you turn up in whatever you want, although I’m sure you’d look very dashing all dressed up!” She raised an eyebrow at Kalay and chuckled softly, her blue eyes glittering playfully. ”I don’t think you really need to go with anyone per say…I was just going to go on my own. But…if you want a partner, we could go together!” She flashed him a bright smile, clearly enthusiastic about that idea. ”And you may not be a social butterfly, but you know I enjoy your company anyway. I’d be very happy if you came.” Her tone was warm as she finished speaking, and she nodded at Kalay. ”Just…think about it, ‘kay? I’ll save you a dance, whether you turn up or not.” She smiled again and went back to cuddling Carbuncle, crooning softly to him under her breath. ”I should probably thank you too, huh? For looking after me on the battlefield. What a brave little GF you are…” She murmured after a moment.

Put away. You forget that there are children here, and they need no negative influences for them to be taking up bad habits. Such as killing, Sou-Ho? The thought flashed through his mind as quickly as he had spoken, and though internally there was a change nothing outward seemed to shift. Such as killing. He told himself. There was no helping that. Many SeeDs would escape the guilt of having to kill fellow men. Their duties lay mainly in slaying monsters, and other beasts who threatened the lives of others, and interrupted and created injustice that made living peacefully impossible. But killing others was not always avoidable, and as much as Sou-Ho wished it could be, more children here would have to kill another. Relax? He thought, tasting the word on the tip of his tongue with as much disgust as the pipe in Ivaria's mouth. There is no such time to relax. Nothing that went on in his head, Sou-Ho voiced. He was not close enough to Ivaria, or anyone perhaps, to voice his concerns and confide in them the things that troubled him. Perhaps he never would be.
As of the moment there are no others that can be summoned for the mission. According to the headmaster, He said, stressing the Headmaster's title to remind Ivaria that she was speaking of the highest ranking position of the Garden whom she was employed for, as well as the one who ran the garden, and Sou-Ho's grandfather. Who, despite this recent bump, he respected. To an extent. We are quite spread out, so much that only a few operatives are here in Winhill and some of them, like yourself, are just coming back from missions which have taken them to the infirmary upon their return. Although that was entirely the case with those coming from Aurel, but at least they had had these three days to physically recover. Those who are graduating today will be given the choice of accepting this mission, or declining it. If they feel they are prepared and able to go out and handle their first mission as SeeD Operatives, that will be their decision to make. If they choose not to go, then so be it.
Sou-Ho had been ready to leave it at that. She had been invited to take part in the mission, and when the announcement was made she had all of the power in the world to go to the debriefing. But, the moment she stepped in front of him, barring his access to his dorm, a switch nearly went off in his head. Ms. Kaizen, I am going to ask you in the most simplest way to step aside. There was no way one could describe the sudden animosity he was feeling towards the woman before him. Sou-Ho was generally calm, if not cool, in how he dealt with everyone here. The Garden, to Sou-Ho, was... everything. It was the only life he had known, and still was the only life he knew. The Garden itself was much like a home to him, and those residing in it the family to which he belonged to, in an extended manner. Because of that he took precautions to avoid from lashing out at those of Winhill Garden. But there were exceptions. Those exceptions being people whom had transferred into Winhill, such as Eamonn. Such as Ivaria. Do not presume that you are free to come into this Garden, violate this Garden's rules, and then expect your demands to be answered after such rude and insolent behavior. I have never, and will not, tolerate such, and don't make any assumptions that you are exempt. Sou-Ho's eyes flashed cold once more as he spoke, and though he was utterly still there was a threatening aura that seemed to surround him. I am going to warn you only once more before you find yourself out of Winhill so fast scientists will be studying the trail of blood you will leave for years to discover how. With how absolute and cold as his voice was, it would not have been a surprise had the very air before him froze. If he had to beat it into her that she was as bound to this Garden's rules and laws as everyone else was, so be it. Even unarmed, Sou-Ho would not hesitate or have difficulty in bringing her down across his knee to paddle her until she'd learn her lesson before dragging her out of Winhill himself. Now, He said slowly, voice still as cold as it could be without producing ice. "Step aside."

"The Announcer" Coming soon to an arena a Garden near you! Yuka Annnnnnd, Good morning Winhill Garden! This is "The Announcer" speaking, coming at'chyou live, coming at'chyou fresh, coming at'chyou with what's new and going down in Winhill! "Brother, please stick to what's written on the cards..." Ha! I have no need for cards! If I'm going to do this, I'm going to give these good people just what they deserve! Isn't that right folks? "Brother..." The announcements had come on, and, like always, The Announcer, who was known by no other name that anyone --even administration-- knew of, and Yuka, who often tried to keep her brother on track, and failed to do so in most cases, were on and live, giving the latest news and announcements every morning and evening, sometimes giving out special announcements during the day when someone sent in a request, or during special events. Now then, let's see, let's see... okay! He called out, Today we've got an announcement going out to all of those guys who came back to us two days ago from Aurel! To all cadets who participated in the mission of Aurel, you've all been asked to proceed to the second floor classrooms, where you dudes, and dudettes, will be made official SeeDs!
Brother, please, can't you give the announcements a bit more... calmly? I am calm. ... ...
Soooo! The Announcer called out, voice ringing throughout the Garden's PA system. For any of you who missed the announcement! Returning Cadets from the Aurel mission to proceed to the second floor classrooms, where you will be either accepted into the ranks of the operatives, or sent back down the purgatory... Silence settled in afterwards, but after a moment The Announcer's voice rang out once more. But onto brighter news! Today, I bring word that the SeeD Ball will be going on today, this evening, tonight in commemoration for those who graduate today! So get your gowns ready, ladies, and men you'd better straighten up that tie! Because tonight is going to be the greatest night of your lives! Well, for some of you. For others, this will just be a sore reminder of having failed your exam horribly...
That's it! UH! A loud thunk echoed out over the intercom, the sound of something falling, and a second later The Announcer's sister came on. I am sorry for the short interruption, something dire occurred at home and Brother had to rush back. A lie no one would believe, but then knowing Yuka no one would question or bring it up either. Congratulations to those of you who have returned from Aurel, and to honor those who could not return I would like to ask that everyone pause what they are doing and bow their heads in a moment of silence, and send those souls a final prayer and well wishes... For a full minute there was silence on the intercom, and when she spoke again, she spoke with energy as if to make up for the dark subject. Now then, the weather this afternoon is looking to be... And like the, the announcements carried on without a hitch, Yuka giving the forecast as well as giving numerous other requested announcements from students, staff members, and news regarding events. Well, that's all the announcements I have for you today! Have a good day, congratulations again to the Cadets coming home from Aurel, and remember: Have pride in yourselves, and the Garden.

Even if I can't win against anyone, I won't lose to myself. But for sure, my losses will make me grow stronger! Junctions: Leviathan Level: 6 Health: 500/500 Mood: Concerned Location: Winhill Garden Magic: Water (3), Blizzard (2)-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lloyd look down in dismay as Riyel seemed to account the darken memories as well. That horrid mission happened 72 hours ago..so why couldn't it just stay in the past instead of haunting them so. "Yeah..." Lloyd replied in barely an audible voice. He felt his grasp on Sophia fall as she stepped from him. Surprised he faced her only to hear his friend apologize before she ran off. "Sop-" it was too late and just like that she was gone. Lloyd's expression turned sorrowful figuring he was probably to blame for what just happened. He rubbed the back of his head allowing his fingers to get momentarily tangled in his golden hair before sighing. "Jeez..." he thought out loud and gazed out over the reflective pool. His reflection mirrored his sadness and he began to try and think of a way to make this better...how could he help her?
--------------------------------
Like thunder resounding over a vast plain the PA system cut on and the mysterious "announcer" came on the air along with his sister. The cheerful outburst took Lloyd off guard and he almost fell into the water. Shooting a little glare...well to the sky, he tuned in and noticed a bunch of other students pausing and doing the same. The vocal exchange was pretty humorous and did well to lift the Nipal's spirits. That's when the news he'd been waiting all this time to hear finally was being conveyed!
"Today we've got an announcement going out to all of those guys who came back to us two days ago from Aurel! To all cadets who participated in the mission of Aurel, you've all been asked to proceed to the second floor classrooms, where you dudes, and dudettes, will be made official SeeDs!"
That was it! The blonde's spirits soared to heights long dream about by man! He was certain today was the day! Not even hell bursting from beneath him could spoil his mood! Hell he's just beat the snot out of every demon in his path!! Screw it! He would pry open the portal closed with his own hands! "ALRIGHT!!" Lloyd shouted with a number of impossible thoughts running through his mind as he ran in place excitedly. After the hell they'd all be through it would be a crime not to let them go on right?! The "Announcer" continued with the news that the ball would be tonight for those who had graduated. Now he was just sick with excitement. He felt as though he had swallowed lighting from all the tingles he felt inside. Hm..come to think of it..he hadn't asked anyone to the ball..aw who cares?! 'What lady wouldn't want a piece of this?' Lloyd thought to himself almost flexing as his ego finally hit the ceiling.
The students near Lloyd were growing a bit concerned with all his movement for they knew what usually came next: the Nipal charge. After a scuffle over the intercom the announcer's sister shared a new words and asked for a moment of silence for those who perished in the mission. Lloyd closed his eyes..but instead of dread he felt a fierce feeling of hope raging in his chest. 'Everyone...rest easy. We'll take care of the rest. Count on it!' Just then Lloyd's eyes snapped open as a smirk crossed his lips. "COMIN' THROUGH!" his voice boomed as he exploded into a sprint. Just as the other students expects, this was the "Nipal charge". Lloyd was making a b line for the second floor and NOTHING was going to stand in his way. His speedy footsteps rapidly clapped across the pathway as he rushed like a bat out of hell.
A rather portly fellow came waddling out of the cafe and mistakenly walked straight into the serpent’s path. He glanced to the side only to see Lloyd approaching like a freight train. In a hurry she snatched her friend and fell back as he past. "Sorry!" his voice faded cutting out some of his words. He hopped over two lovers about to kiss, slid underneath two comrades shaking hands, and flipped over a group of cadet ladies before giving a sparkling wink overhead making them giggle. He landed and pushed his thumb past his nose before speeding off once more. The stairs were nothing and Lloyd scaled them like an organized hill. Finally he was on the second floor and quickly approaching the classrooms. He was almost there! Lloyd cut around the corner knowing his dream was going to be realized this day.

No sooner than Nona had stepped off the connecting walkway to the central area of the Garden, she turned and was met with a head-on collision. She stumbled back, her reflective mood shattered like a mirror, and had a furious look ready when she stepped forward again. ”Watch it-” she began harshly, only for the words to die out when she found she was about to berate the Sophia, looking particularly vulnerable at the moment. Was that the glisten of tears in her eyes? Nona wasn’t sure, but before she could make a decision whether to press on, the girl sputtered out an apology and scampered away. Nona followed her with a glare, but the little flame of anger dulled quickly to an aggravated glow. Upset she’s going to fail? Could be, she reasoned, and felt a meager measure of empathy. It brushed off quickly enough.
Before she could decide where to go (her only idea was to fetch her guitar or her cards and try to pass the intolerable time waiting), the announcements began. The sound of the Announcer’s voice made her shoulders tense immediately; she knew what was coming. She had heard a similar announcement- well, similar in intent- a year before in Galbadia Garden. Despite herself, that fire that had been sparked by Sophia’s abrupt appearance was replaced by an icy pall. She set her jaw stubbornly and lifted her chin, heading for the central elevator. Not this time.
Nona was the first to arrive unless others happened to be on the second floor already, taking the elevator up alone. It was only in the isolated chamber that she remembered the announcement’s request for a moment of silence for the departed. Perhaps it was just her mood, but she felt compelled to give in to the request, and shut her eyes a moment in reflectance. It was a brief farewell, but not insincere. When the elevator’s familiar ‘ding’ announced her arrival on the second floor, Nona opened her eyes again and strode out. She parked herself outside the classrooms, leaning against one wall and crossing her arms. The urge to pace filled her, but she fought it down viciously. Moments after her arrival, Nipal emerged from the nearby stairwell, looking like he’d run up them. She spared him only a glance.
