Gangrel's expression softened, and turned to one of respect. The eevee had put on an awesome fight. He would be proud to call him his teammate. Putting a paw on the eevee's shoulder, he gave a sincere smile.
Walpurgis was so shocked by the display that he almost forgot to throw a pokeball. As he threw it, Gangrel withdrew his paw as the eevee was enveloped in a red light...

*wobble wobble....wobble wobble.....POP!* The pokeball rocked, then popped open before it could lock. Niji found a brief second wind and darted away into the underbrush. Out of sight, he slipped through a patch of ferns and into a tiny cave created by a raised tree root. He curled up in the dark spot, hidden from view, and let his heavy eyes slip shut as he passed out from exhaustion.
(Oh no, Wild Eevee got away!)

Gangrel's nose twitched. He could still smell the blood from the bites on the eevee, but it was clear he didn't want to be captured. Instead, he jumped up onto Walpurgis' shoulder, lying down.
"Well, at least you got to fight a worthy opponent, right, Gangrel?" Walpurgis stated, smiling. "Better get to Katarina. Missions don't complete themselves. I'm sorry we couldn't get him, man."
Gangrel nodded slightly, shifting his gaze to the tree root the eevee had concealed himself in.
[Yes, it was fun.]
