Wha--n-now?! This very second?!
Squeaking, the baku instinctively leaned back, lifting up her hands. "O-oh! Please, don't worry about that! So much has happened, and I'm sure you've been busy, so..." Though, she didn't really have an excuse not to accept Hel's offer right now...and why not? With how things were going, the baku's skills had definitely been improving, but it would take a lot more practice until she could consider herself a rank higher than "beginner".
"Though, Hel...if we were to do this now, how will you fall asleep?" Was the Valkyrie already tired? Or maybe Xiu could run to her room and make a cup of that potent tea that helped people sleep (more like knocked them out cold for a good hour or so).

“That is exactly why we should do this now, Xiu!” Hel replied. “Because so much has happened, and because I am sure you want all the training you can get. Because we become so busy as well, I think we need to capitalize when we can, yes?” She smiled widely down at the ghoul, and placed her hands on her shoulders, giving them a warm squeeze.
“Ha! I can sleep anywhere and anytime friend, truly. You just let me know where we should go, yes?”

"T-true." Yes, Hel had a very good point. Besides, since things were (temporarily, she was sure) peaceful right now, it was as good of a time as ever to get in some practice. "If you're certain! I mean, if I'm not imposing on you or if you have something else to do right now..."
Clasping her hands together, the baku gave another wag of her tail as she turned to glance over her shoulder, looking towards the stairs. "If you'd like to come back to my dorm room? You can use my bed, if you'd like?" With Hel volunteering to help her, it wasn't as if Xiu would just let her sleep somewhere uncomfortable!

Hel stared down at Xiu, and just stared.
After a moment she laughed. “You are so adorable.” She commented with a grin, squeezing her shoulders once more. “It is not imposing when I offer, is it?” She chuckled and then gave a nod of her head. “It sounds like a plan! Lead the way friend!”

The baku's cheeks reddened in surprise at the sudden comment, and she floundered for a moment, mouth opening and closing. She never knew what to say when people said she was cute--did she thank them? Did she just smile? In the end, Xiu decided not to comment on it at all (her reaction was probably more than enough), emitting a little "t-this way!" as she skittered towards the stairs. However, she made certain that she didn't walk too fast and that Hel was close behind.
Her room was fortunately quite close, so it only took a brief few minutes until they arrived. Pushing the door open, she walked in, motioning towards the bed. "U-um, please! Make yourself at home."

Hel just grinned as she followed Xiu up to her room, and once she was inside she gave a nod. “Alright!” It was time to get down to business.
The reaper pulled off her boots, placing them near the door, and took off her apron as well, folding it and placing it on top of her boots. She moved over to Xiu’s bed then, staring down at it for a moment before she climbed onto it and settled on her stomach, facing the baku. Hel gave a thoughtful hum. “…I am not entirely certain what I have been dreaming of as of late…just a fair warning to you, friend.” She smiled a bit before closing her eyes, and uh, surprisingly enough, her breathing evened out after a few minutes as she slumbered.

...W-wow, that...that had been pretty fast.
Xiu had expected that it would take at least half an hour or so until Hel was able to drift to sleep, but...nope. Actually, it was kind of impressive! And it definitely reinforced the fact that the valkyrie was the perfect partner for the baku to have. Moving towards her couch, the ghoul settled down, closing her eyes as she went through the usual process.
It didn't take long until she found the path to Hel's dream. Well...in she went! Though honestly, she was a little nervous about what she would find, after Hel's warning.

Xiu might have found this to be uh…a rather different dream than any other she’s ever been in before.
As the ghoul followed the path into Hel’s dream, and entered it, it would be pitch black. Next, she would feel arms around her, and a gentle hand tapping her cheek. When Xiu ‘opened her eyes’, she would find herself in Hel’s arms, though Hel didn’t look like she usually did. First and foremost, Hel was not two toned. Her entire skin was pale, her hair a platinum color, and both of her eyes a light sky blue. Next, she seemed to be wearing a bit of armor and a black feathered cloak. Xiu would also find herself wearing the same thing, actually!
“Sister…” She was addressing the baku. “Sister wake up…” What was also startling, was their environment…a cave of some sorts, chilly, wet…the ghoul’s voice echoed off of the barren walls eerily. “Dear sister Xiu…we died.”

...Oh. Well, this was certainly unusual.
Xiu hadn't expected to find herself in this predicament...whatever this predicament was. At first, she was a little alarmed at the feeling of someone's arms curled around her, but she quickly relaxed when she realized that it was Hel--
--Wait. This wasn't...was this Hel? She looked...different, very different, not only her outfit, but her overall appearance as well. The baku pushed herself up slightly in an attempt to sit up and take a better look at her friend, and it was then that she realized that she too wasn't wearing her usual outfit. In fact, she was dressed exactly like her Valkyrie friend was.
What was going on? The ghoul cocked her head to the side as Hel spoke, calling her her sister. "Sister? I mean, ah..." There was a pause as she tried to gather her thoughts. This was a dream--she needed to go with the flow. Clearing her throat, she offered the other ghoul a small smile. "D-died?"

Hel nodded her head solemnly. “Yes.” She turned her gaze around the dark cave, her eyes lingering on the faint gray glow that seemed to be at the end of what appeared to be a winding path. “…We were not strong enough. Well fell in battle against the false reapers.” There was no anger to her tone, just a morbid acceptance. What had happened happened.
“…We need to get back to Valhalla, sister.” The reaper stood then, and helped the Baku up as well. “…It will be a perilous journey though…and we have a lot of ground to cover…we must return regardless. Are you ready?”

False reape--ah, Hunters. So even Hel dreamed about them! The baku frowned slightly at this--she certainly hoped tat her friend wasn't having nightmares about them!--but this wasn't really the time to be dwelling on that. Hel was talking about something that Xiu might have heard in the passing, but had no idea what it was. Valhalla. A place, perhaps?
She wanted to ask, but she was sure that it would be seen as strange if she--who was dressed the same way her friend was and who was currently being referred to as "sister"--asked such a thing. Therefore, she settled for staying quiet, taking the offered hand with an appreciative smile as she got up to her feet.
"I, ah...yes! Yes, let's go...sister."

Hel pulled the Baku to her feet, keeping hold of her hand as she looked back towards where the faint glow was coming from. She only paused for a moment, before she started to lead Xiu out. The path to get out of the cave was long and winding. To top it off, it was calmly, damp, and chilled as well, and the only sounds for the time being seemed to be echoing moans of despair and the clinking of their armor was they moved along.
As they went further and further in…or hopefully out…of the cave, the light grew brighter, and after some time the sounds of water lapping at a shore could be heard. Upon exciting the cave, the two ghouls were greeted by the sight of a gray-ish beach, along with a long dock and a thick cover of mist and fog. The fog obscured anything beyond the dock, and the dock seemed to be where Hel wanted them to go. She carefully led them down the rocky incline to the dock, where their boots echoed on the wooden planks now.
Upon drawing closer to the end of the dock, there appeared to be a figure waiting at the end of it, holding a long oar and standing near a boat as well. Hel seemed to know what to do, as she paused and dug through her cloak before she produced four gold coins. She held out two to Xiu.
“To pay the ferryman so that we may cross the river.”
As they got closer to said ferryman well…Xiu would most certainly recognize Mr. Grumpyface still looking as well…Grumpyfaced as ever. Hel paid her two gold coins, and boarded the boat, taking a seat near the front.

Xiu trailed after her obediently, her fingers curled around Hel's as she followed her friend through the cave. Her grip tightened slightly at the eerie moans that echoed through the cave, and she unconsciously pressed closer to her friend. What were those noises? Could it be...other people who had died? While such a thing should not have been very scary (after all, how many ghosts and zombies did Xiu know and befriend?), something about the noises coupled with the darkness made her tail bristle.
Fortunately, after some time, they finally made it out of the cave. The ghoul squinted slightly at the light, even if it was not that bright, as her gaze swept their new surroundings. Where were they? It was hard to see with all of the fog, but it seemed as if Hel knew exactly where to go. Sticking closer, Xiu followed her down towards the dock, only to frown as she made out a faint figure beyond the mist. Confused, her pink eyes flickered upwards to look at the Valkyrie. "Who...?"
She fell silent as Hel pulled out four gold coins, obediently holding out her hand to collect the two that she was offered. The ferryman, she gathered, was the figure who was presently shielded by the fog. Though she was initially a little wary, her expression changed into one of disbelief when they were close enough to make out the boil's features. While Hel paid him and got on, Xiu merely stared at him blankly.
"Mr. Grumpyface?" He was the ferryman? The corners of her lips suddenly quirked upwards in a faintly amused smile as she handed him the coins, stepping onto the boat and moving to sit down near Hel.

Now Hel was usually a pretty consistent dreamer…and she was usually able to hold onto a dream for a long time…but with the recent events well…it certainly was changing the ghoul’s mind set.
After being paid to cross the river, the ferrymen who looked suspiciously like Mac pushed his boat away from the docks and started to take it into the fog. As they went further in, the fog got thicker and thicker, and even though Xiu was sitting right next to Hel, even she was starting to become obscured by fog until everything went white. The sounds of the water lapping the boat faded, as did the sound of the oar gliding through the water.
The next sight Xiu would be treated to, as the fog seemed to start to thin out and fade was Hel’s breath on the glass door of the freezer aisle of the local grocery. They were both dressed in their normal clothes, and the ghoul seemed to be staring longingly at something. “Oh. My. Goodness, Xiu!” The valkyrie exclaimed, pulling her face away from the door to look at the Baku. “I really want some Black Cherry eye-scream!”

...W-wait a minute, what just--
Wide-eyed, the baku whipped her head left and right, trying to process what just happened. She should have been used to it by now, but sudden switches in dreams still threw her off a little. It wasn't until Hel spoke did she finally break out of her stupor, ears and tail pricking up a little.
"Wha--oh! Uh...yes! Yes, let's get some eye-scream!" While it was certain a vast contrast to what the dream had been a few moments ago, the baku couldn't claim to be upset about what happened. From what she could see, they were both safe and sound, and about to buy some eye-scream, so...
Really, who could dislike this kind of dream? Her tail gave a little wag as she peered through the glass door, her gaze scanning the frozen treats. "That sounds good with me! I don't think I've ever tried black cherry eye-scream!"
