The hours passed with fitful glee like a Butterfree frolicking amongst a world only of flowers. As it flowed, Osmond refused to leave the presence of Cetus's cell. He slumped against the wall and looked out and about, sometimes turning an eye to caught a glimpse of her in his periphery before turning. Since his confrontation in the interrogation room, she hadn't spoken to him. Even so, he could catch the forlorn stare in her eyes. An icy, pleading gaze that constantly repeatedly the words, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." But even apologies weren't enough here. She'd be gone again, just like last time.
Suddenly, the chief burst forth through the doors and patted each of the officers with a hearty hello and goodbye, as it was now time to leave. Osmond gave the chief a content handshake before stalking off as well. He didn't give a goodbye to Cetus. For once in his life, he wished for her to understand how he felt for all those years. Even if it was for an instant.

Night loomed over the area, striking away her remaining hours in captivity off one by one. She couldn't sleep a wink that night as her thoughts were filled to the brim about her first love and second fiance. Regret stained her eyes through the night. Even as a sing-song Dodrio cawed in the first few rays of the sun, an imprint of those irksome feelings shadowed the arcs beneath her eyes.
The first few officers to dabble into work were the same ones who apprehended her. The strode about the precinct with listless care, yawning at their paperwork and slugging coffee like poisoned ambrosia. The second to last member to join the others for the day was Osmond himself, who seemed no better than his ex-fiance in regards to the morning. He ignored all possible attempts at small talk by sliding past his colleagues and straight for Cetus's cell.

She leaned upward at his presence, a bit content to see him after such a long night. He leaned against side of her prison, not making eye contact but obviously considering her. "How are you?" he mumbled, barely audible. She tilted her head at the question and simply smiled. "I've been better," she said. "And you?"
"I couldn't sleep a wink last night." he replied, yawning into his palm. "You're not as upset as before." he added.
"I really can't be," Cetus replied, following after him with a yawn. "I'm too happy to see you again, Osmond. I couldn't register these feelings yesterday . . . not after how you approached me."
He laughed a little. "You still haven't lost your charm," he said. "You're still as beautiful as ever."
"And you've lost yours." she retorted. "You were never a sappy lover."
The officer pursed his lips and rapped his knuckles against the edge of his chin. He considered himself for a moment than turned to her a bit more serious. "How much longer do you have?" he asked.
She glanced around. "What time is it?" she asked.
"Six minutes to eleven."
"Six hours."
Osmond grimaced. Smoothing a hand over his head, he looked to her. "Listen, Shinju, I-"
Before he consider another thought, one of his colleagues called him towards the front desk. He frowned but strode towards it, casting Cetus a final glance before remembering his duties. That's right, he was a cop.

Mr. Williams was called out for a bit of trouble being caused in central Katarina. Apparently, a Rocket Grunt had crashed a jewelry store in broad daylight. They had snatched up a bit of pricey necklaces with pendents well worth over 10k.
Cops in the middle of the city put up a chase but found the thief too quick. That radioed the nearby precinct in the direction she was heading in with hopes she would be apprehended. Dropping himself into a police car with the receptionist, Osmond switched on the siren and zoomed after to chase after the culprit.
Again, Cetus was bereft of her ex's presence and she would be until early evening, when Osmond and his cavalry finally returned. The cops centered around him, frizzing his hair with their hands and heartily patting his back. Congrats rung out like battle cries. Apparently, he was the hero of today's heist.

Breaking away from the group, Osmond made a beeline for Cetus's cell.
"Congrats," she smiled, just repeating what his colleagues said before. "You're the big hero today, huh?"
He scratched the back of his neck. By Arceus, he loved her smile. "I didn't get the criminal," he replied, blushing. "I just got back what was stolen."
"Well, good job?"
"Haha, thanks."
Cetus leaned back in her cell. "Time's up, y'know." she mumbled and this caused Osmond to double take in with a quizzical expression.
"Huh?" he asked, but was suddenly caught off guard by a large explosion in the front of the precinct. Suddenly, he blanched as his mind fell on Cetus's duties and escape. He had forgotten.

"Warble!" cried the Tentacruel, seeing red from anger. He waved his tentacles around as if he was greeting the officer, firing point-blank Toxic Spikes against each officer that tried to apprehend him. He slithered slowly through the arsenal of cops, fighting them off when they got too close and spitting the spikes wherever he could.
Osmond dashed away from the fray and caught hold of a radio at the receptionist counter. He screamed for help into the handheld device and when a roger was given, he turned his attention towards Cetus's Pokemon.
"Hey, hey!" he shouted, waving his baton at the Jellyfish Pokemon. The Tentacruel glared at him and tossed him aside like a ragdoll. He crashed back into the counter, having the air pushed from his lungs from the impact. Just before he reached her cell, back-up had arrived. They rushed in and began firing tasers upon the Pokemon with hopes of stopping him in his tracks.

As soon as the tips of the tasers penetrated his soft mushroom cap-like head, a deadly shock simmered through the extended wires. His body frizzed from the electricity and he cried out, clattering his beak from muscle twitching. Cetus widened her eyes and rushed forward, clutching the bars of her cell.
"Menkar!" she bellowed. "Thanih, throw Thanih al Naamat's Pokeball!"
The Tentacruel reached into the depths of his many tentacles and withdrew the round, ping-pong sized Pokeball. She threw it in his owner's direction, who hastily grappled at it as it careened towards her.
"Thanih, use Hyper Beam on the bars!" she cried as she released her shiny Marowak, who popped out with a creak. She tumbled aside to take cover against the attack.
He turned and complied, opening his mouth wide and firing an amber beam against the cage. The bars were blow away at the impact, leaving a shattered exit for Cetus to escape.

She slipped agilely through the bars and turned her attention towards her Tentacruel who was suffering from the tasers. She directed a hand towards the officers. "Thanih, Bonemerang!" she commanded.
The Marowak raised his femur and winged it into the air. In a wide arc, it zipped from his location and around, knocking the tasers out of the police officer's hands and to the floor. Just as the Marowak caught his bone, the Tentacruel turned on those who harmed him. Without delay, he gargled an Acid Spray directly into their faces, blinding them.
Cetus huffed and withdrew her Marowak, also taking the time to search her Tentacruel for his own Pokemon and sucking him into his compartment too. She made a quick rush for the entrance's double doors, until she came upon the motionless body of her ex-fiance.

Cetus rushed to his side, bending down to check his breathing and heartbeat. He was still kicking but his air intake was a bit labored. Thankfully, he hadn't lost consciousness either.
"S-Shinju," he mumbled, glancing up towards her. "I-I'm too late, aren't I?"
"No, you're not," she replied, pressing her lips to his momentarily than pulling them away. "You're never late. I just- I have to go. I'm sorry." She turned to leave but he caught her wrist.
"N-No, not yet." he stammered. "There's a h-hotel on the outskirts of Katarina. Meet me there, tomorrow, in the late evening."
"Osmond, I-" It was worst she saw him once, but now he wanted to see her again? "Osmond, I can't-"
"Please."
Cetus nodded. "Alright," she answered, than turned. "I love you, Osmond." she added before finally making her escape.
Osmond sighed. He loved her too. He had always loved her. Always.
