Smoke's ears flickered a bit as he stared at the water in deep thought as if he had to really search inside himself to find the answer to that question. "At times.... it does yes." he began, his tone soft as if to represent all those times of loneliness he felt. "Though I don't like to admit that." he chuckled as his natural warm smile spread back over his muzzle once again. "It may just be I prefer to live in denial about that fact sometimes." he said as he stared into her eyes. "And you and your sister? Do you live in a pack... or separate packs?" he tilted his head in question, since he remembered she had just come from visiting her sister, he wondered if they even lived together.

Hawk sighed. Always back to her sister. She supposed it was inevitable. Someone without family would be curious about someone with a sibling, and consequently, that sibling. Maybe if she was just vague on the details?
"We live separately," she said, then answered the inevitable follow-up question without being prompted. "Different beliefs. She belongs to a pack and I...sometimes wander."
Yes. That was it, right? Diplomatic and vague? That was the way normal wolves spoke. Or at least, the way they could speak when so inclined. Right? She must be getting more comfortable, surely.
"I could keep you company," she blurted, then hastily added. "For a while, if you like"
Oh, yes. Very normal. Other wolves only wished they were so suave. Right.
Well, at least she could be assured that she was not changing too much, too quickly, if she could still impress the other wolves with such pretty words. She ducked her head to avoid seeing the laughter that was surely in his eyes.

Smokey River simply smiled. So they did live separate lives after all. Perhaps not the type of close knit family one might assume. Ah but it wasn't his place to dig any deeper, he was only trying to establish a base line, to be able to learn something so that she wasn't a total stranger. After all, if she was going to stay and grant him company, he wanted to at least feel like he knew something about her. His eyes softened and he dipped his head to her politely. "I would be honored if you were to stay and keep me company for a while. Your welcome to my place as long as you wish to stay." he smiled at her charmingly. Perhaps too friendly...but then....what male in their right mind would turn down such a beauty?

She peeked up at him and smiled hesitantly. It was not that she had no place else to go, but she thought that it might be nice to stay here for a while. It seemed a pleasant, quiet place. A nice change of pace. Of course, the company might be a contributing factor. If she were being honest with herself, she was more than happy to spend some time getting to know River better. Perhaps she could even become comfortable enough around him to speak properly to the male.
"Thank you," she said. "I would be honored to share your den."
