His facade did not falter. Not until he heard the sounds of the shower running.

"OhJack.." Mot mumbled with a hitch in his voice, crumbling to the floor and cradling his head.
He'd just been so mean, so forceful, to his own ghoulfriend. He'd felt like he had no choice. He did it because she needed to be put in her place for her own good. He didn't like it, but if he had to, he would play the part of Bad Cop.

The reaper was shaking, unused to being so cruel with a ghoul. Still, he had more work to do. He took in a shaky breath, and got to his feet. "Okay...okay..." He breathed in and out, slowly. Once he was calmer, the boil turned toward his bedroom.

Not too long later, he came back with a container of Hel's stew. He took it into her kitchen, and began to heat it up.

Admittedly…it was nice being out of those water logged clothes…and it was equally nice to be standing under a hot stream of water. Still…she had to wonder where this sudden forceful streak came from…the thought had her blushing again, and it wasn’t from the heat of the shower. Eventually she finished, and laid her soaked clothes out to dry in the tub, when she realized something else.

Oops…she didn’t bring any new, dry clothes in here…oh well.

Hel secured a towel around herself, and then wandered out of the bathroom. She slipped by the cowboil, glancing at what he was doing, and then snuck a glance at his face to see what his current mood was, before she continued onto her dresser. There well…the ghoul had no shame. She dropped her towel and dressed right there next to her bed, pulling on a new pair of bloomer bottoms and a tunic top. Hel toweled off her hair, and snuck another glance at Mot.

She then looked at her bed for a moment, deciding that she wasn’t ready for that just yet, and then plopped down to the floor, where she then proceeded to start doing sit ups.

Pushing Mot’s buttons again? Maybe. Squeezing some more training in? Definitely.

Mot's mood had been calmer, sullen, but calmer. That is until Hel appeared with nothing but a towel. He averted his gaze, thinking she must of forgotten her dry clothes.
Fair enough. This was her room, after all. That didn't stop him from turning a light pink.

However, when she didn't return after clearly hearing the dresser shut close, he immediately assumed she was making some kind of break for it. He sighed and peeked out from the kitchen, only to catch sight of Hel dropping her towel right there.

Yipes.

The reaper dove back into the kitchen, now a lightly deeper shade of pink than he had been. He'd certainly seen quite a bit of Hel's rear end as of late. Two times. That was a lot, right?
Too much for Mot, anyway.

He stayed in the kitchen for some time, trying to get his heart to simmer down. After a momnt or so, he heard noise that did not sound like getting into bed or resting. Mot nervously peeked around the corner, spotting the ghoul on the floor doing sit ups. The raven haired boil sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose as he walked out of his hiding spot and approached Hel.

"You try my patience, Hel. It is wearing quite thin."

Up and doooown…

Hel stared up at Mot as her chin touched her knees and then as the back of her head touched the floor, and repeated the movements. Her lips pulled down into a frown at Mot’s words and tone briefly, and then she couldn’t help but seem a bit amused. “What is with the formal tone, Mot?” She was still doing sit ups. “Heeeey, at least I am indoors this time! Mot, I can not just lay around when I could be doing something. I’ll rest when I go to bed later!”

Trying his patience, indeed. Every fiber of his tolerance for Hel's blatant disregard for her own health was slowly breaking, string by string. His eyebrow twitched, a deep scowl on his normally so passive face. Every fiber breaking. String. By String.

"I really do not care for your pathetic excuses, little ghoul." He uttered cruelly, his eyes narrowing as he suppressed his anger. Why was he so upset? He wasn't sure, honestly. Something about Hel's attitude had him livid. Utterly livid. He hated that she would pass off his worried as if what he thought was not important. Like her own agenda was higher on the pecking order. He cared about Hel, and her safety. He expected more from her.

Mot knelt down beside the ghoul, and held her forehead to the ground as soon as her position allowed it, holding it down firmly in his palm. Times like this, it was so evident how much smaller she was than him. Such a big attitude in such a small petite frame. "You're forehead is hot. Your nose is red. I can hear it in your voice and every time you sneeze. You are sick, and you need to rest your body."

Hel’s lips pulled down into a deep frown as Mot spoke to her in a rather cruel tone. Oh dear. She wasn’t sure how to handle this exactly…she’d never seen the cowboil act like this before! Once again, Hel looked like she wanted to protest that her excuses weren’t ‘pathetic’ and she most certainly was not a ‘little ghoul’, but Mot’s hand on her forehead as the ghoul pinned to the floor right now, where she stayed for the time being.

“…I’ll rest my body later, okay?” She half heartedly put forth rather pitifully. The ghoul crossed her arms and stared up at him for a long moment, still frowning. “…Hey…whatever is on your chest, just say it, alright? No good keeping it in.” The valkyrie had a feeling he was holding something else back…and well, she was a brat. She probably shouldn’t be provoking like this, but she did it anyways. Much like a rotten child testing the limits, so to speak.

Later would not cut it.

The reaper sighed softly, his hardened features softening at her last words. He let her go, and sat down cross legged, facing her so he could stop any further attempts at exercise. "What is on my chest?" He repeated, frowning with his eyes cast downward.

"You've been blatantly ignoring the fact that your behavior today is worrying me. Is my opinion really so insignificant to you, that you'd scoff and wave me off? Being in a rush to get stronger while you're sick is reckless. I don't want to see you hurt yourself." He lifted his gaze, narrowing them harshly.

"Don't simply tell me to stop worrying or that it's nothing, either. You'll only find it will upset me further."

The reaper, oddly enough now, stayed where she was on the floor. With Mot’s hand gone from her forehead…pushing herself up into a sitting position didn’t seem so appealing…and the floor was nice and cool. To her credit, Hel heard him out as he vented, and multiple times she opened her mouth to protest but then promptly shut it. Gotta let the Motty speak first ~

Once he was done, the ghoul tried reassuring him otherwise. “I’m not blatantly ignoring your worry!” She protested. The ghoul looked horrified at his next words, and ended up shooting straight up into a sitting position, wide eyed, and her hands held out. “No! You’re opinion isn’t insignificant to me at all!” The ghoul wailed, flailing her arms above her head now. “It’s just that I think you’re worr—“ The ghoul immediately shut her mouth once more.

Mot just said to not tell him that it was nothing or to stop worrying.

I..it’s just…I…uh….” Hel was grasping at straws, but she had nothing, and a hand flew to her mouth as she broke down into a coughing fit.

Mot gave a look of concern, patting Hel's head as she devolved into a coughing fit. "I'm glad I was wrong about your views on my opinions, but I'm not wrong to say you're unwell." He kept a hand around the back of her neck, looking her over gently. "Trying to train while sick will not make you stronger. It will only hurt you."

Mot leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Hel's warm forehead. "Rest and get better. When you do, training afterward will reap higher rewards."

Mot knew Hel was a restless sort, so he decided to compromise. "When I've decided you're no longer ill, I'll let you tell me what to do for an entire day. Okay? But only if you rest as I tell you to."

A groan escaped Hel’s lips as she finally made it out of the coughing fit, and now that she was spending a lot more time not in motion…the unwell feeling was really catching up to her, and starting to drag her down. She just looked up at Mot lamely as he proclaimed that he was right about her being unwell, and her cheeks reddened more as he pressed a kiss to her forehead. Even sick, the moths still fluttered.

Aww but Mot…” Hel started, “Telling you what to do for a day will not make me stronger…I appreciate the thought though.” The ghoul let out a sigh and flopped back onto the floor.

Mot chuckled lightly as she refused the offer, watching her flop over onto the floor. "That doesn't look like a bed to me." Mot nagged with a smirk.

"I could always carry you, you know."

Hel gave Mot an exasperated look from the floor.

The bed is right there.” She pointed oh so helpfully, so close but so far away. At his offer though, the ghoul seemed amused. “Oh you could, huh?” She seemed to challenge. “Just like a princess?” Hel remained flopped out on the floor.

Challenge Accepted.

Mot moved into a crouch and curved his arms underneath Hel, swiftly cradling her in his grasp as he stood up to full height. "Like an obnoxious, cute little princess, yes." Mot answered with a smirk, taking the few steps it took to get to her bed and laying her down.

He even tucked her in, and propped the pillows up behind her back so she could sit.

"I've heated up some stew for you. Sit tight." With that, he turned on his heel and made his way to the kitchen.

The ghoul eeped as she was scooped up into Mot’s arms, and her stomach fluttered.

The fluttering moth moment didn’t last long, as Hel scowled. “I am not cu—“ She coughed again, turning her head away from Mot and covering her mouth. “I am not obnoxious or little either!” This was spoke, muffled, from behind her hands.

Hel looked a bit dismayed at being tucked in, but she sat there and let it happen. She leaned against the pillows, watching as Mot patted away into the kitchen. “…O..oh…alright…” While he was doing that, the ghoul reached over onto her nightstand for her brush, and started to brush out her hair.

Honestly, Mot was half expecting Hel to make a break for it out the window, so tickle him surprised when he returned to find her settling in.

The raven haired reaper set down the bowl of stew he had heated up for her, then left for a moment to retrieve a chair, taking it to Hel's bedside so he could sit with her.

"I want to keep a eye on you until you're well again. May I spend the night? I can use your bedroll if I do need to nod off... ah!" He got up again, looking pensive. "Did you need something to drink? Cider? Milk? If you're cold, I could get you more blankets." It seemed like Mot felt the need to dote on Hel.
