He grinned. "Probably not," he agreed, heading down the path that led to town and slipping her hand into his pocket thoughtlessly. "It's a lot warmer here than it was in the snowglobe, but it's still too jackin' cold for my tastes. Back home never got this cold," he complained. "What about you? You grow up warmer or colder than here? Or the same?"

"It's pretty cold back home, when it wants to be," Taryn nodded. Granted, this was home now. She felt welcome at Amityville. "Not this often, but I kind of like it. I really don't mind the cold. I have a little fireplace in my room, even. It doesn't bother me." Even now she shrugged her shoulders, snuggling into her jacket. "How bad does it hurt?"

"Some parts hurt more than others," he admitted. "But... I ain't never pierced my nose, so I got no clue how much this one will hurt. But I will hold your hand while you're doin' it, if it'll help," he said. His eyes were looking for a prospective place.
There, on the corner in the distance, that looked like a familiar sort of place. "There?" he asked, pointing.

Taryn went up on her hooves and peeked at the building.
"Oop. Yep! That's the place," she nodded. Would she need her hand held? Probably. She pushed the door open with no fear and approached the front desk smiling.

There was a heavily pierced demoness sitting at the front desk, her hoofed feet crossed at the ankle and resting on her desk as she flipped through a magazine. She looked up at them, blowing a bubble, which popped loudly. "You got permission for this? Or are you eighteen?"
"She's eighteen," Roch said blandly. "But we want to see some of your work."
"Oh, I'm not the guy," she said. "But he did all of mine," she added, turning to show off her massive row of piercings along her ear and nose.

Taryn just smiled politely. Eighteen was often the mark for adulthood, but it varied from race to race. She felt a little odd. How old was she, even? Regardless, the ghoul leaned forward to inspect the demoness' piercings. No scarring, mostly even... hm! She turned to Roch questioningly.

He moved even closer, touching the ghoul's chin and turning her head slightly. "Straight, smooth, yeah, he'll do," he said, pulling back and earning a flirty little wink for his troubles. He grinned at the demon shamelessly. "Is there a long line?"
"He's just got a couple and he'll be free, if you wanna take a seat?" the ghoul said, motioning to the chairs to the side. Roch nodded and took Taryn's hand, pulling her towards them.

Was Roch hitting on the demon? Huh. Well, she guessed she was closer in FEAR level and all that. Oh well. She smiled again and followed Roch to the seats where she plopped down and crossed her legs. Was she so out of place here?
...probably.
Judging by the Flash on the walls, definitely. At least there was a lot of curious things to look at while they waited!

He looked at Taryn as they sat down, leaning forward and looking up at her with a hint of worry. "You okay with this?" he asked her. "Cuz it WILL hurt, maybe just a little, maybe a bit, but still--"
He wasn't sure this is how she should have started out. Well, it wasn't as if this was that big of a deal, really, at least not to him, but--
"We can leave if you change your mind."

"I was ripped open by shards of glass," Taryn smiled, brushing her hair behind her ear as her lips split into a grin, "I'm not going to change my mind. I've thought about this, I want this. If it doesn't work out, I can take it out... if it's already healed, I can go to a healer. I want this."
The ghoul stopped then, turning thoughtful, brows furrowing. "I need this."

Two guys came out, walking past them and grinning like idiots. "You can go in," the front desk demon said, once again reading her magazine.
"Then we'll do it," Roch said as he stood, tugging her by the hand.
"Cute couple," the demon said with a grin. "Gonna get her all pierced up, too?"

Taryn's eyes went wide and her cheeks felt warm. Oh boil! She smiled then to herself and ducked her head, pulling Roch on by. Let him respond.

Roch blinked, then shrugged. "She's gonna do what she wants to do," he said finally. "This is ALL her." Which didn't reply to the couple thing at all, but he'd gotten stuck on the getting her all pierced up part. "I'm just here for support."
Then he stepped into the back, still tugging Taryn along. The man in the back made him stop and stare. He was huge, well over seven feet and muscle bound. His skin was red and he had two large curling black horns from his forehead. He wore a leather vest and jeans, but his huge arms were covered with tattoos and his pointed ears had so many piercings in them that it looked like they were steel lined.
"Yo," the big man said. "Here for more holes?" he asked, looking at Roch.
"Nah, but she is."

Taryn's smile split open when she saw who was going to be punching holes in her flesh. She had always trusted larger men, perhaps an issue with her own parentage and her rather large father. In fact, this guy looked a bit like her cousin.
...bigger, though.
"Hullo! I'm lookingto get my nostril done. The left one, I think." It was strange how comfortable the ghoul was with the situation, considering her norm.

"Yeah? Okay, then, Darklin, come over here and sit down," he said, tapping on the chair in the middle of the room. "We'll get that done in no time. My name's Piers," he added, grinning slightly. "Ma was trying for something foreign, all she got was a guy with a needle."
"Roch," Roch said, grinning. The big guy reminded him a little of Maddog.
