((I kind of wonder what would have happened w.o the limit in place. Then again, I don't really want to know LMFAO.))
All right, the two were once more even with one another. Still, it would be a close battle, and the Mew still held the advantage. She'd have to take advantage of its weaknesses to have a chance.
"Shadow Claw!"
The attack hit its mark and left the Lucario wrought with pain. Many used flames against him but it did not work like poison and he gained no immunity.
Shaking himself of the last of the embers, he began to radiate dark light from his paw, the shadow image forming a large claw. Rushing towards his foe and dodging the bursts of electricity that came from the tower, he sought to strike the airborne Mew.

Shadow dodged the claws gracefully, using the opportunity to soar in at the lucario from behind.
"Rock Smash!" Zinnia cried, right on cue.
Shadow put on an extra burst of speed and shot one small paw forward with enough force to shatter certain types of rocks. Hopefully, Erebos's skull was harder than that.

Genesis clenched her fist. At the rate the battle was going, she didn't think they would have a chance unless they got extremely lucky. Still, the battle was not yet over, and she wouldn't stop fighting until that moment.
"Keep it up!" she called, encouraging Erebos to try again.
Erebos was thrown down by the force of the blow, and the sharp attack left his vision blurry and his feet staggering as he brought himself up. Thankfully, however, it was dispelled with a quick shake of the head and he attempted Shadow Claw once more.

Zinnia pumped her fist in the air and gave a cheer when Shadow managed to maneuver away from the Lucario once again. "Try a Focus Blast!" she said, deciding that it was best to try to attack from a distance. Hopefully the lucario wouldn't be able to reach on the next attack!
Shadow was pleased that she wouldn't have to fight hand-to-hand again (or paw-to-paw?), but she stayed low enough in the air to ensure that the fighting-type attack would reach its target. She focused her inner strength in her mind before unleashing it on her opponent.

And strike it did. Erebos was panting hard by the time the attack faded, and he made no move to avoid the occasional spark that ran along the field. At the moment, it was too much effort for too little return.
Still, there was the fact that the recent attack required the Mew to lower herself -- she was still within reach, and so the Lucario hurled himself at her, readying another Shadow Claw.

"Another Focus Blast!" Zinnia commanded her pokemon. It looked like the battle was nearing its end. Best to finish it up before Shadow's energy drained away!
An audible hiss escaped Shadow's mouth as the Shadow Claw finally landed, causing substantial damage to her. She couldn't dwell on the pain or her dropping stamina, though; she focused her mind into her attack and released it again at Erebos.

Focus Blast hadn't received its reputation as a powerful Fighting move for nothing. The second wave forced Erebos back across the field, away from the Mew who had wielded the blow. He had been thrown at a high speed but came to a startling halt when he crashed into an electrical tower. There he slumped to the ground and showed no signs of lifting himself.
Genesis knew when she had lost, and she quickly retrieved Erebos back into his Pokéball before the electricity could run its way down to him. She didn't expect to win, but at the very least, she knew where she stood when it came to fighting a legendary.
"Thanks for the battle," she said simply, then made her leave.

"Good job, Shadow!" Zinnia congratulated as her pokemon flew up to her stand. "Let's go to the pokemon center and get you healed up. You did great!" She grinned at the small, cat-like legendary before turning to the other trainer to return the thanks that she had given, but Genesis was already leaving. "Oh well," Zinnia said thoughtfully. "Maybe we'll see her again."
