Genesis could see the attack, coupled with the poison, had greatly hindered the Growlithe. The battle would be over sooner than she thought.
"Once more, Leto! Dig!"
By then, Leto's strengthened paws had faded. It was slower work getting underground again, and she was struck by the annoyed Growlithe's Fire Spin before she could pull herself to safety. Muttering for the sake of her now-charred tail, the Rattata repeated her last maneuver and aimed for her opponent.

Hindered indeed. The growlithe shook as the last of the poison coursed through him. Jenk watched, biting her cheek. Hopefully it would be out of his system, now. She watched as the Rattata burrowed under the ground, and winced. "Watch it, Tyr! Keep your eyes open!"
The Growlithe looked at the ground, backing up quickly to try and get away, and managed to dodge Leto's attack. Jenk grinned. It was the perfect opportunity. "Flamethrower!"
Tyrion didn't need to be told twice. He reared back and roared as the flame ripped from his throat, aiming straight for the Rattata's face. This battle was quickly getting tiring, and he wanted to end things quickly in his favor.

Leto was looking worse for wear, but the Rattata was still standing -- they still had a chance.
"Keep going!" she called.
Leto was blown back by the force of the flamethrower, and she landed some distance away, steam coming off her singed fur. She was far from cold now and the rain seemed more a blessing than a curse. She couldn't wait to return to it.
With a confirmation cry, she buried herself again to strike at the Growlithe.

And like that, it was over. As Leto once more blasted through the ground at Tyrion, the blow had struck, and the Growlithe stumbled backwards. For a long minute, he stayed upright, swaying but still eager to battle. It wasn't over! It couldn't be over! It--
Finally, Tyrion dropped from his paws, panting weakly. Jenk sighed a little. It had been a good battle, but she could already feel the exhaustion coming off of Tyrion. He wasn't going to be pleasant to deal with for the next few days. She took his Pokeball out and recalled him, grinning Genesis's way.
"I'm beginning to wonder if I'm ever going to beat that little rat." She said honestly, pocketing Tyrion's ball and grabbing her jacket again. "Maybe next time, yeah?" She shrugged on her coat as the platform lowered, and buttoned it up, heading out to get Tyrion healed up and head on home.

"You wouldn't be the first," Genesis replied, scratching the back of her head. She, too, was surprised by the strength the Rattata had shown, but she wasn't complaining.
"Maybe," the Grunt agreed with a nod, waiting for Leto to return to her as the stadium shifted back to its original state. After Jenk had left, she lingered for a moment longer. Then, with a sigh, she plopped the Rattata on her head and left the stadium behind.
