Ilya bowed low and smiled ruefully. "Thank you for the opportunity. I will train harder so that I may help our King in the future." He had hoped that he was ready, but the test proved that he was not, he would indeed train harder so that he would be able to help one day.
((thanks so much Ed! ^.^))

Dark Ion and his brother and second Dark Tide stood with the warrior they had chosen by virtue of strength and ability to infiltrate the Sixes council and leak the secrets back to the Greater Herd's. "Txopu may the wind be at your back and may the trail rid itself of rocks before you." Dark Ion quipped. "May your heart stay pure and may your rump return intact." Tide added. "Good luck." Ion nodded at the path that would lead the blue stallion to the very heart of the desert, the area where few clung to the very vestiges of life. Txopu traveled for three days into the desert lands. On the night of the third day, just before the moons rising he arrived at the Six's stronghold. "Who goes there?" a scout called.

Txopu had trained long and hard under the brother's watch, and was in even better shape than he thought he could ever be before. However, even through it all, the whole idea of actually infiltrating the enemy's place seemed so far away to still not be worthy of truly worrying about...until they said good-bye, at which point this whole damn thing hit him like a ton of bricks. He was leaving Serenity alone...vulnerable...would she be okay? He hoped so. He felt Mira send him a mental embrace that warmed his heart and gave him courage. Lifting his head, he chuckled lightly "And if my rump does not return intact, may you run faster than my Chosen. I would watch for signs of striped green birds diving." Glancing to the path indicated, he knew the time had come at last, and bid one last, and this time, serious farewell to the brothers. He was on his way. The journey was not easy, three days of extreme heat and chilling coldness forced him to find shade during the hottest part of the day in any way possible, and to travel at night to keep his temperature up. Still, he was more than glad to hear the sentry's voice at the stronghold. Lifting his head, he called out with as strong a voice as he could (it was quite rough and hoarse, it'd been 2 days since he'd last personally found water, and damned if he wasn't thirsty), "I am Txopu Kawtu, a strong warrior of the Na'vi herds. I have traveled far, seeking council with the leaders of the Six."

The sentry confered with a Sairys familiar. "Go get Avalanche." As the Sairys flew off the sentry settled in to questioning the rather powerful looking new arrival. "What makes you so blessed to see the Six? Do you think we would just let you waltz in and have a chat with the Leaders? Bahahaha. Silly newling." The Sairys flew back and landed on the sentries shoulder, puffing up its feathers with pride the bird spoke in a sweet feminine voice. " Avalanchecomes." And indeed the silver stallion was on his way. His dark hooves navigated the sand with a familiarity of an azrein who had been in the desert for more then 10 years. "Txopu welcome to our lavish paradise, I hear you seek the Six's council?"

Txopu watched the bird fly away for a moment, licking his dry lips lightly before bringing his attention back to the sentry. Unsure of how to respond, after all to say anything after such insulting remarks showed weakness in his mind...weakness of anger. He was not angry...terrified? Yes. Lifting his head into a proud stance, he swished his tail once before going completely still and staring at the sentry in the eye, saying no word.
It did not always work on everyone, but those who were weak could not stand such an onslaught and would quickly look away...anywhere but at the 'attacker'. It always gave him a good measure of just what he was up against.
When the silver stallion approached, it was not until after he'd spoken that Txopu broke his gaze and bowed his head in reverence to the apparent leader. He knew he was still talking to an underling, no smart real azrein leader would actually go out to meet strangers of their own accord especially under such circumstances as these would warrant. Still, deference and respect was accorded where it was due, and he lifted his head once more to a proud stance.
"Humans have too long wandered these lands free and unfettered, destroying and taking. My herd is scattered, we are forced into hiding. We tried to remain neutral, but we can no longer stand by idly. The humans have taken our land, our food, our children and our very homes from us. The King has done NOTHING," he said with snort at that emphasized word. "Nothing. His promises are lies, we are but herd animals in his eyes. My herd has sent me as a liason. We request help, and in return we pledge our loyalty to the cause of the Six."

Avalanche glanced at the underling, who said nothing but had puffed his chest out trying to look bigger. Hmm, interesting. Avalanche walked around the new azrein, strong back, muscled legs, not always a warrior but desperate times called for desperate measures and this stallion had adapted well to his new circumstances. They so desperately needed warriors now it was as if the gods had dumped a herd of enraged fighters on their doorstep.
"You may come in, but try anything funny and I will sick my Jeppe on you and you would not like that at all." Avalanche said, speaking of his friend, one of their most ...skilled assassins. One had only to meet the blood colored stallion to see why. He lead the new one first to a well, cool in the night and fed by a deep deep stream buried long ago in the earth.

Txopu stood perfectly still as he watched the silver stallion walking around him from the corner of his eyes, his head high in warrior pride. He wondered just what the male was thinking, and out of amusement decided to go back to staring down the sentry once more. Finally, the silver male spoke.
"Agreed," Txopu nodded his head in assent to the conditions. Funny business? Pffft? If only he knew...he wondered just what species of familiar this Jeppe was...or was he another azrein? Eh, time would tell. He followed closely to the male's flank, careful not to be too close nor too far behind.
When they reached the well, the smell of water was sweet in the air, and Txopu gratefully stuck his nose into the water of the well. It was bitter cold, and clear as a cloudless sky. He had to exert all his will power to not gore himself on the liquid, instead drinking it slowly, letting his body get used to it once more. Finally satisfied, he raised his head to carefully shake the water off of it before looking once more to the silver male.
"Thank you...eh...what, may I ask, is your name?"

"My name is Avalanche. You should get settled in for now. In a few days it will be council time. I think you should attend...after we have deemed you worthy enough." Avalanche grinned at the blue. Poor bugger had no idea what was coming. "I'll leave you to your thoughts.. the sentry's familar will watch over you for the moment." And he left. Just like that. There were important things to be done.

Jeppe X Avvy Excerpt
The Duke "Promising new stallion dont you think Jeppe?" Avalanche drawled. After his meeting with the blue stallion. "I think he will go on the front lines when the time comes."
Prof.V Delim Jeppe's ears twitched first the right then the left, he clicked his teeth before looking at Avalanche. "I dont like him.....something....something is off.." Jeppe turns to stare at the blue stallion.
The Duke "Off you think so? Perhaps I am too excited but he seems determined in some way and goodness knows we need some determination among the ranks. We can't run the entire thing by ourselves you know."
Prof.V Delim Jeppe lets off a low growl his body twitching as it normally does. "He smells wrong Avvy so wrong I don't like him. Something isn't right Avvy I know it I do I know it!" Jeppe said with a stomp of his hoof. "And what ever do you mean? Jeppe can handle it all." Jeppe gave a nod of his head truly convinced he could. The Duke "Jeppe darling no mangling the guest until you have proof of his in justice. But if he is false you can chase him right off the property and he better hope you don't catch him." Prof.V Delim 8:46 pm "Master Jeppe is always right Master Avvy you should take him seriously." Smeck the little slave of Jeppe spoke up from his masters heels. "Shush Smeck." Jeppe said giving Smeck a kick. Jeppe gave Avvy a more serious look. "Avvy I've got my reasons for ripping and tearing flesh before asking questions...the damage could already be done, couldn't it...." Jeppe's head and eye twitched several times. "Maybe put the new recruit under me....I'll make him stay with me and I'll watch his every move....call it....probation...." Jeppe said grinning wildly.
The Duke 9:05 pm "You may watch over him but don't dismember him. Not yet. He may be worth more than we give him credit. Did you see the muscles?"
Prof.V Delim 9:09 pm Jeppe raises a brow and growls a bit. "Mark my word he can't be trusted...I'll find proof.......I will....Jeppe ain't crazy despite what others think." Jeppe snorts before kicking Smeck out of frustration. "Good kick my master." Smeck says with a whimper the kick was a bit harder than he was used to from Jeppe.
The Duke 9:11 pm "I know you are not crazy but until our forces are gathered I am in dire straights for warriors. You and me despite a good try would not be able to overtake the Greater Herds and the King all by our lonesome."
Prof.V Delim 9:27 pm Jeppe twitches and glares a bit. "What good is a warrior that may not fight for us.....no matter Jeppe will see where his loyalty really lies....." Jeppe said with a growl turning his neck to eye the stallion. "Let’s see how he likes fetching food for the Nightwalkers..." Jeppe laughs in a most crazy manner. "Smeck go let the Nightwalkers know we will bring them dinner tonight." "Yes master." Smeck said before taking off towards the vampire territories.
The Duke 9:28 pm "The Nightwalkers? Really? You cruel devious being how I love you so." Avalanche snorted with a touch of glee. Well there was more than one way to skin a fish... Jeppe was just more creative than most.
The Duke 9:30 pm The Nightwalkers were a herd made of mostly Vampires. Txopu would have to be carefull that he didnt end up as breakfast as opposed to the deer or some such other mammal he found to bring to them.
