Fleurette soared through the skies on her Altaria, looking for a place to land and take a break. Altaria was a bit too small for both her and her Roserade to sit on, so Roserade was back in her Pokeball for the moment. Spotting a familiar flower patch below, Fleurette's face brightened, and she touched Altaria gently on the neck. "Right here, Altaria, right here's good."The humming pokemon chirped in response and started to descend. To the people below, it might've looked as if a cloud had suddenly started to drop. That's what most people compared Altaria to; a fluffy cloud. It probably looked weird when people saw a girl sitting on the cloud, too. Altaria's feet lightly touched the ground, right in front of Floaroma Town's pokemon center. Fleurette jumped off and called Altaria back into its pokeball. "Thanks a lot, Altaria. Take a good rest."A group of people immediately went up to Fleurette. A small boy of about six years old ran up and jumped up and down in front of her. "Fleurette, you're back! Will you be staying for longer this time?" Fleurette smiled and ruffled the little boy's hair. His name was Cain. He was a sweet little thing, hyperactive and generous. He yearned to be a Trainer and to receive his own pokemon one day. "I'm afraid not, little one. I have to go attend to some things over in the East soon."Cain's grandmother hobbled up and smiled at Fleurette. "Not too soon, we hope. Won't you stay the night, at least?" "Of course. I'll be staying a couple, actually. My Pokemon are all tuckered out. Do you mind if I bunk with you for the next few days?""Of course. Good people such as you are always welcome." --- "Medicham, use Focus Punch!" The Medicham charged forward, fists at the ready. Nesrin waited in contempt. She tossed her hair, and said simply, "Fire Fang."Houndoom leaped forward, mouth full of fire. Just as Medicham was about to collide with him, he twisted and bit fiercely into its waist. Houndoom shook it, then threw it to its Trainer's feet. Then it growled, waiting further instructions. Nesrin barked a laugh and stared at her opponent. "You call yourself a Trainer? How could one so weak be a Trainer?"The Trainer ground his teeth. "Why, you --" "Houndoom, use Flamethrower."Houndoom opened its jaws, and a large stream of fire burst out, engulfing both Trainer and Pokemon in its flames. There was a large explosion. Nesrin called Houndoom back into its pokeball, turned sharply, and continued her journey into Eterna Forest, not bothering to see the results. She knew what they were. One annoying wimp down, a million more to go, she thought.

"Gengar, use mean look!" Without hesitation Gengar grabbed the other trainers Emboar and stared it down till it couldn't move. Desert just yawned as the other trainer began barking orders to try and get his pokemon moving again. "Gengar use hypnosis." Gengar's eyes turned blue and then the Emboar started to drift into a sleep, a really deep sleep. Desert looked at the other trainer with a small smile. "I will give you five seconds to call your pokemon back and walk away. Five...four...three..." The trainer began to shout out the orders but the Emboar continued to sleep with a smile on its face. Desert smiled. "It ust be having a good dream my friend. Sorry that I have to end it. two...one!" Desert sighed. "Use nightmare." With a wild cackled Gengar jumped into his opponent's shadow and proceeded to cause a horrible nightmare to the pokemon. It didn't take long for the pokemon to fall to the ground motionless. Gengar came out of its shadow with a villain like smile. Emboar's trainer ran up to the pokemon trying to call out to him. Desert walked up to the trainer and spoke,"Hey, its still alive. At the moment it is suffering mental trauma from the nightmare it had. It just needs to rest a few days." He tossed the trainer a bag of berries. "Use these if he doesn't wake up in a couple hours. It should help a bit." He then turned around and walked towards Eterna Forest.
"Tch, that battle was no fun." Gengar was floating on top of Desert's head nodding with its arms crossed. "Still, I hope that pokemon is ok. By the way, what kind of nightmare did you give it?" Gengar looked away for a minute then show Desert a small vision of a beach filled with nothing but old women in bikini's. "AGH STOP, STOP YOU LITTLE FOOL!!" Desert shook his head back and forth till Gengar stopped the vision. "Geez that would cause anyone head trauma. Let's not do that one again." He sighed and continued to walk down the forest until he saw a battle between a Medicham and Houndoom. It looked really one sided and he though the battle was over. Then the one with the Houndoom called a Flamethrower injuring both the other sides pokemon and trainer. "What are you doing?" He pushed past the girl and went to the trainer and the pokemon. He tried to nurse them back the best he could. His Gengar tried to feed berries to the Medicham while Desert tried to wake the trainer up. He then looked at the girl. "That was going a little far don't you think? Or are you so weak that you have to kick someone when that can't fight anymore?"

┏━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Darena Zanover Pokemon researcher┗━━━━━━━━━━━┛ • • • • • Darena walked into Floarama Town from the east, feeling bedraggled and worn. She'd gotten word of a rare Pokemon that appeared every once in a while nearby, and had flown here from Sandgem on her Swellow to find out if it was Mew. It had only turned out to be a regular Drifloon, though, which she'd let float on its merry way once she'd realized it wasn't what she was looking for. The flight had been long, and she didn't know yet where she was going to spend the night. Her Swellow needed a rest from flying so quickly, so she didn't want to force the Pokemon to work any harder unless she had no other choice.
A cloud floated out of the sky, carrying a girl. Darena blinked and realized she was looking at an Altaria as the girl dismounted and recalled the fluffy Pokemon. She was obviously well-liked, as a few people ran up to her to talk. More importantly, she was standing in front of the local Pokemon Center. Darena thought she might be able to start there for finding a place to stay and headed for it.
It'll probably be best if I don't mention my research to anyone. It's hard to tell these days who supports what, and I'd rather not be chased out by Anti-s. Anti-s was the word she'd made up for those against Pokemon-human gene splicing. She'd made the mistake of saying why she was looking for Mew in a town that was mostly populated with Anti-s and they'd risen up and chased her out of town, attacking rather viciously with their Pokemon. Her own Pokemon had become badly injured in that escape, and Darena had decided not to mention her purpose to anyone anymore. She didn't plan on lying or anything, she just wasn't going to say anything. She didn't know what she would do if asked directly, though. Lying was something she wasn't good at, unlike her mafia cousin Zabre.
That one's definitely an Anti. And a hypocrite. And a liar. And... The mental list went on of all the things her previously beloved cousin was as she continued to approach the Pokemon Center.

Fluerette listened patiently as Cain rattled off the list of things he had done the past few weeks she'd been gone. She was nodding patiently to everything he said, when she looked past his shoulder and spotted a ragged girl walking up. Was she a resident of Floaroma? Fluerette didn't recognize her. Just a normal Trainer maybe? No, she didn't look like it. The way she walked, the way she just looked, Fluerette could just tell she wasn't just a normal Trainer. Shushing Cain with a light tap on his shoulder, she turned to his grandmother and asked, "Grandmother, that girl - is she a new resident?"Cain's grandmother turned and squinted. "No, I don't think so. It looks like she's just passing through." "Looks to me like she's a bit too roughed up to be 'just passing through,'" Fluerette frowned, and walked quickly over to the girl. Her clothes were all dusty and wrinkled, and her face was covered in grime as well. She sure could do with a bath, Fluerette thought. She didn't sight any Pokemon traveling with her, but she did spot a few Pokeballs at the girl's waist. Definitely a Trainer. Of some sort, at least. She didn't look unfriendly, at least. "Hey, are you alright? You look like you've traveled here from a long ways away." Fluerette said, stopping in front of the girl. She held out her hand to shake. "My name's Fluerette. Fluerette Lavergne." --- Nesrin did not expect a random person to come running through the bushes. The boy and his Pokemon pushed past her and knelt by her former opponent. Nesrin turned her head. She raised her eyebrows slightly. "Oh? So they're still alive?" she murmured. "Pity."Nesrin's eyes then rested on the new person. A young man, around her age, give or take a few years. His clothes were slightly covered in dirt, suggesting that he'd been in the wild for a few days at least. And she noticed that he wasn't like her former opponent. No, this person -- this person was strong. He seemed strong, she could tell just from his posture. She could probably take him on, of course. He turned to her, an accusing look in his eyes. He proceeded to reprimand her, accusing her of being weak. Nesrin turned slightly to face the man. She smiled, just a tilt of her lips, but it never reached her eyes. Her gaze switched to the man's partner: a Gengar, who was currently trying to feed the injured Medicham berries. "You have a Gengar too," she said simply. "As your starter Pokemon, I presume? Interesting. A pity you let it become so soft."Nesrin's hand went up to her waist, where her belt holding her Pokeballs were. She pressed the button on one of the Pokeballs. A Drifblim appeared, floating behind her. It started to rise into the sky. Nesrin held on to its tail and let it lift her up into the sky. "I have a feeling that we will meet again," she called down to the man. "And until we do, I will thirst for the moment when we can finally battle." She remained staring cynically down at the man until Drifblim lifted her higher and higher and the two vanished in the clouds.

┏━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Darena Zanover Pokemon researcher┗━━━━━━━━━━━┛ • • • • • Darena's mental rant was interrupted by the Altaria rider, and she looked down at the shorter girl. She shook the offered hand and said, "Darena Zanover. Yeah, I flew in from Sandgem when I heard about a rare Pokemon that's sighted every so often. I don't actually live in this region, though. Nice to meet you, Fluerette."
She gestured to surrounding town, so brightly colored with all the different flowers blooming everywhere and people and Pokemon wandering about. "It's actually my first time to Floarama. Is this your hometown?" If the girl was a local, she might be able to tell Darena where she could find an inn or something to spend the night in and maybe get a good meal. It would be nice if she could get a shower, too. Darena also thought the girl might be able to point her towards the local historian or library so that she could go digging through the area's folklore for mentions of the elusive Pokemon.
Maybe I'm going about my search all wrong. Maybe I should be looking for folklorists and looking for mentions of Mew instead of haring off after rumors of rare Pokemon. I guess it would make more sense to look for legendary Pokemon in legends, after all.

Darena, huh? Interesting name. I feel like I've heard it somewhere before, though, Fluerette thought. Feeling that it was safe to move a bit closer, Fluerette walked alongside Darena as they continued on into Floaroma Town. Darena said how she'd flown in from Sandgem after hearing about a rare pokemon sighting. Fluerette's eyes brightened and she smiled and Darena. "Oh, you're interested in legendary Pokemon?" she asked naively. "Are you one of those scientists? Those researchers? I'm sorry to say, but the most legendary Pokemon you'll find here are Combee, or Drifloon."She watched silently as Darena quickly surveyed the town. Fluerette felt a little surge of pride at her adopted home. She was proud of the beautiful flowers that bloomed all over the town. Darena asked her if it was her hometown. Fluerette bit her lip. "Well, not exactly," she replied. "This isn't my hometown, nor am I a resident here. But I do spend a lot of my time here, and I consider it home more than anything else." Fluerette wondered why she would ask that. After a few moments, it finally came into her mind that Darena was probably hoping for a good guide to point her to the right places. Fluerette would do exactly that. "Are you perhaps looking for a place to stay tonight? We don't exactly have any hotels here, but you're welcome to stay at one of the resident's homes! It's where I'm staying, and the people are very nice. And the food is spectacular."

┏━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Darena Zanover Pokemon researcher┗━━━━━━━━━━━┛ • • • • • Darena smiled as the girl asked if she was a scientist. "Yeah, I'm a Pokemon researcher, actually. I don't have my master's yet, but I'm working on it right now. Unfortunately, I picked a rather difficult Pokemon to study." She gave a little laugh and tried not to look embarrassed as the girl told her the rarest Pokemon around were Combee and Drifloon.
She felt relieved when the girl suggested she stay with a resident. "Oh, really? I'd be happy to pay, of course, but I will definitely take you up on that offer." Darena received a regular allowance from her mother, and supplemented it with delivering small packages for other researchers during her travels. There was also the grant she'd received for researchers looking into the disappearance of legendary Pokemon to help fund her journey. It wasn't a lot, but it was enough to keep her research going, her Pokemon in good shape, and herself fed and bunked.
Darena stopped in front of the Pokemon Center and said to Fluerette, "I want to get my Pokemon checked over really quick. My Swellow's pretty tired from flying all the way from Sandgem, and I just want to be sure she's alright." With that, she walked in towards the desk and handed the nurse her Pokeballs. It didn't take long for the Pokemon to be examined and returned, proclaimed to be in good health. Reassured, she turned the Fluerette and said, "Why don't you lead the way?"

Desert watched her as she floated away. Her last comment didn't sting, instead it made him burn with rage. "How dare you comment on how I raise my pokemon." He took out his pokeball. "Hydreigon, come forth!" His massive dragon pokemon soon popped out of its pokeball with a roaring tone. Its voice carried throughout the entire forest. "Hydreigon, Hyper Beam directly into the sky." Hydreigon charged and soon released a large hyper beam lighting the forest for miles. People from the next town over would be able to see the lights.
"When we meet again, you will be sorry." He returned his dragon pokemon to its pokeball. Then he looked at the trainer and her pokemon. "Come Gengar, lets take these two out of the forest." Gengar nodded and picked up the unconscious pokemon with ease. Desert did the same by picking up the trainer and soon the two were off trying to find their way out of the forest and back to the city.

Fluerette listened as Darena told her that she was a Pokemon researcher, but didn't have her master's yet. She could've guessed that without her saying so. The woman looked a bit young to have finished all her studies already. Unless she was a complete genius. Maybe she was. Fluerette found it wise not to judge. After offering her a place to stay, Fluerette noticed Darena's shoulders drop slightly in relief. She smiled faintly. The researcher than said that she'd be happy to pay. Fluerette smiled at her. She knew that Cain's grandmother would never accept money, but she also knew that their family was in need of some. Not exactly; they had a quaint house, and they had enough to live on, but Fluerette felt that they deserved a few luxuries. Perhaps she could tell Cain to pass it on to his grandmother once she and Darena have left. That way, she wouldn't be able to return it. Fluerette followed Darena to the Pokemon Center, where Nurse Joy quickly examined her pokemon and healed them. She almost forgot about her own Pokemon, and how tired they were as well. She handed her Pokeballs over to the nurse, and she healed them as well. One of the Pokeballs opened, and Fluerette's partner pokemon, a Roserade, popped out. She touched a bouquet-like hand to her head, as if saluting Fluerette. Fluerette chuckled and saluted her back. She then led the young scientist out, where Cain and his grandmother were waiting. Cain squealed happily and ran over to Roserade, hugging her and jumping on her. Roserade tried her best to make sure Cain didn't accidentally land on one of her thorns. Fluerette turned to Cain's grandmother. Her name was Ava, but she was always just Grandmother in Fluerette's mind. "Grandmother, do you mind housing another rowdy, rebellious explorer tonight?"Ava laughed. "I'm sure I could handle another one. No rough-tuff kid has bested me and my famous herb stew! Let's go, it's ready right now!" Ava turned and started to hobble to her house. Cain followed, scampering after her. Fluerette smiled, and looked over to Darena. She then remembered how strange an 'herb stew' must have sounded. "Don't worry," she murmured with a wink. "It's actually quite delicious. It's a ... whole new experience." { Time-Skip } Cain and his grandmother had gone to bed already. Fluerette sat in a big armchair. Her willowy frame made it look as if the chair was about to swallow her. Her Roserade stood straight as a soldier faithfully by her side. It was silent, other than the small fire that crackled in the fireplace. Fluerette stared at it, eyes full of sadness. "Good people such as you are always welcome." Grandmother Ava's words echoed in her mind. Fluerette sighed. "Good people, huh? If only that were true." --- It was night by the time Nesrin and her Drifblim touched ground. She had seen the huge Hyper Beam tear into the sky. She'd smiled at that. So the man had a temper. Good. People with tempers made for better opponents. Nesrin called Drifblim back into its Pokeball. At the same time, one of the other Pokeballs opened, and her partner Pokemon, Gengar, replaced the other Dark Pokemon. Gengar smiled at Nesrin, although not a kind one; a scheming, nasty, plotting one. He'd heard what had taken place in Eterna Forest, and he loved every bit of it. The drama, the violence, the challenge. Everything. Nesrin smiled back at him, a smile as nasty and plotting as the Gengar's. "He had a Gengar too. A soft one. It was a disgusting sight."Gengar snarled and stuck his tongue out. "My thoughts exactly."She then looked around her, trying to place where she was. Lots of rocks. Oreburgh City, most likely. Or Veilstone. But she didn't see the the flashing lights of the Game building, so she deducted it down to Oreburgh. Finding a small inn nearby, she quickly got a room. It was quaint, somewhat small. At least it was clean. Nesrin opened the windows and looked at the starry night. Her Gengar crept up beside her and tapped her arm, showing her his vicious smile. Nesrin grinned back. "Right. We start training tomorrow."[ooc: @ichibi: god-mode much?]

┏━━━━━━━━━━━┓ Darena Zanover Pokemon researcher┗━━━━━━━━━━━┛ • • • • • Darena was kind of surprised by the boisterous kid and how fearlessly he jumped on the Roserade. The Roserade was very gentle with him, managing to keep the kid from impaling himself on her thorns. It was very sweet, and Darena smiled as she followed everyone into the old woman's house.
As Fluerette had promised, the herb stew was a whole new experience. It was extremely delicious, and Darena had seconds. Dinner had been exciting with the young boy, who was introduced as Cain. He'd kept asking questions, mostly of Fluerette, and generally involving Pokemon battles. Darena had been a disappointing prospect after revealing that she preferred to avoid battling as much as possible.
Now it was after dinner, and the old woman and Cain had gone up to bed. Darena stayed up outside a little longer, letting her Pokemon out for a bit, and watching them play in the moonlight. Her Sawsbuck was especially pleased by the amount of flora in the area and would gaze at particularly beautiful specimens intently for long stretches of time. Kadabra was happy to stand by Darena and use his psychic powers to tease the other Pokemon.
Finally, she recalled her Pokemon and walked back inside to see Fluerette looking melancholy by the fire place. Her Roserade stood nearby, looking intimidating with the light of the fire playing over its features. Darena coughed politely, not wanting to scare either of them and end up with a collection of toxic thorns decorating her skin.
Something in Fluerette's face made Darena come sit down on the couch across from her and ask, "Is something wrong?"

End of the Night
During the evening, a group of scientists had gathered on an uncharted island, looking for an herb that went along with the legend of people being able to transform into Pokémon and vice-versa. They set up camp for the night and went to bed for the night, as the search for the herb would not be able to be completed during the latter hours of the day.
Anybody watching the news would get the same basic story, that more people were murdered as a result of Pokémon battles gone too far. More cities were partially destroyed, millions of yen in property damage had been done.

During the night, Andrew and the entire town was woken up by large explosions. Andrew got dressed, returned his Pokémon to their Pokéballs and ran out to see what was going on. There was smoke rising from the mountain just outside the town. He released his Metagross and hopped on top of it. "Let's go, Metagross! Up to the mountain!" Metagross charged along and began climbing the mountain until it got to the gaping, smoking, smoldering hole that cut into the side, and then jumped inside. Inside, Andrew turned on his flash light and looked around. There were other cones of light moving around and lots of shouting at each other, but Andrew could not see the source of the voices. "Let's go, Metagross, toward the lights." He released his Rhyperior and Tyranitaur and ordered them to follow. When they got to the source of the lights, Andrew saw that it was Team Galactic digging into the mountain, looking for something. "What are you guys doing to the mountain, here?!" There was no real response, just a savage yell that issued forth from the various members of Team Galactic as they sent out their Pokémon at him. "Go forth and destroy their spirits, team!" Andrew sent out the rest of his team and within minutes, all of the members of Team Galactic had been demolished. The Galactic grunts started running away, swearing their revenge and whatnot. Andrew rushed after the slowest one and tackled him to the ground and began questioning the man of their intentions. As it turned out, he did not get much information about their plans because the guy was too terrified of being pounded to death. Andrew got a jumbled tangle of "legendary Pokémon, fossils, Deoxys, and genetic experiments." After being dissatisfied, Andrew let the man go, returned all his Pokémon except Metagross, whom he hopped on and rode back into town. After getting back to the inn, Andrew thanked Metagross and returned it to its Pokéball, then went back to his room and to bed.

Fleurette stared deeply into the fire, images of her past seeming to flash in its flames with each crackle. Roserade, sensing her master was disturbed, looked to Fleurette worriedly, but didn't say anything. Fleurette didn't notice, and continued to stare. Battles, battles, battles. Past battles flashed in the fire. One extra gruesome battle seemed to linger longer than the others, and the fire grew with the intensity of the battle. Yet all Fleurette could stare, stare at the damage that she had caused... Someone coughed behind her, and Fleurette looked up. Darena came around and sat in front of her on the couch. "Is something wrong?"Fleurette took a moment to answer, shaking off the effects of her daydream. "Oh -- oh, yes," she replied, giving Darena a shaky smile. "No need to worry. Sorry, just... got lost in a dream, or something." Fluerette cleared her throat awkwardly and stood up. "Well, I guess I... should get to bed. I'll be going first. Goodnight, Miss Zanover." Fleurette walked out, her feet dragging. Her Roserade trailed after her, but not before stopping to give Darena a sincere nod and her trademark salute. { Next morning! }Fleurette sat in front of the battered old TV, a cup of herbal tea in her hands. The morning news was on at the moment. Currently, the news anchors were announcing the reported deaths of trainers that had gotten into an 'accident' or were killed after taking a battle too far. The list was too long for Fleurette. Images of the Trainers flashed by on the screen, and their faces smiled at Fleurette. Every once in a while, the news anchors would report damages done to the cities in Sinnoh, and how much money it would take to repair, but they would always go back to the Trainers. Trainers, who, at the beginning of their journey, had set a goal for themselves and now can't fulfill it. Fleurette gripped her mug tightly. Cain, who was sitting beside her, looked at her worriedly, silent for once, for he knew that it wasn't the time to goof around. Ava was at the stove, cooking breakfast and watching the news with a horrified expression. "Poor kids," she said tearfully. "They all look so young."Fleurette looked down at her tea, gritting her teeth. Roserade, who was standing by her side as always, looked away, lost in its own thoughts about the whole human-Pokemon hybrid experiment. Tentatively, Cain tugged on her sleeve. "Hey, Fleurette... is this why you have to leave so soon?"She looked at him and gave him a half-smile, ruffling his hair. "Yes, Cain. This is why I have to leave. In a few days, though. I can't end up like them." --- "Mismagius, use Psywave!"The ghost Pokemon releast a blast of negative, hot psychic energy. The Starly had no way of escaping. It fell to the ground, defeated. Nesrin sighed, a sigh of boredom, and called Mismagius back into its Pokeball. Gengar scampered forward and bent over the fallen Starly, ready to unleash its Dream Eater on it. "As tempting as that seems, stop," Nesrin commanded. She massaged the bridge of her nose in frustration. "You're just wasting your energy. A weak one as that doesn't deserve your Dream Eater. Save it for one more powerful. Gengar scowled and backed off. Just then, an Onyx burst from the mine entrance nearby and charged at Nesrin and her Gengar. Nesrin faced it fearlessly, a grin appearing on her features. "A little bit more my speed. Let's tango. Froslass, go!

Andrew awoke early in the morning and set out to talk with Clair at the Blackthorn City Gym. She wasn't in, which would explain her absence at the little party in the mountain last night. He left a message on her cell phone and released his Crobat. "Crobat, we have to go north to Sinnoh. We gotta find out what that was all about last night, right?" He stood above Crobat and Crobat took off as Andrew held on. "We should be able to make it to Chaoco City in the Ittao region by noon, buddy, let's go!" Four hours later... Crobat landed right on the docks in Chaoco City and Andrew recalled him after thanking him. Andrew negotiated with a captain of a fast ship about going up to Sinnoh. Andrew ended up giving him 7500 yen, but there was going to be plenty of food for him and his Pokémon. They would leave in another hour and a half, so Andrew released his team so they could stretch and rest. "Now, everybody, I want you to be on your best behaviour, we're in a new place." An hour and a half later... Andrew recalled his Pokémon until they were completely boarded. He found out where the cafeteria was and headed down there. He released his team once again so they could eat, then got some food for himself, then sat down to eat. After everybody was done eating, Andrew recalled his team and went back to his room. Three hours later... Andrew disembarked the ship and went onto the docks in Canalave City. "Let's go, Crobat!" he said as he released his Crobat. "We have to go to Veilstone City, buddy. It's going to take us a few days, so let's make our first stop Floaroma Town. Maybe we'll make it to Eterna City before the end of the day." He mounted Crobat and they took off for Floaroma, which took them about forty-five minutes to get to.
