Dakota didn't have much time to retort to being left alone with the intermediary hunter before some giant thing....crashed through.
He just barely managed to roll away when Petra swung in for a attack. Sadly this moon hunter was to busy trying to get a handle on what was going on before he even thought of a attack.

"No s**t the barrier shouldn't have- is it down??" Harrison demanded, B0nez materializing in each fist as he swung both blades into what he could only assume was a really big gorilla.
A gorilla that was...decaying around the edges. And drained of color. With glowing, blue eyes.
He wrenched B0nez free, taking a fist to the gut as he was caught off-blance and slamming backwards into the coffee table.
"If the barrier's down with us alone in the facility, we got bigger problems."
You've got bigger problems than that, B0nez said. Look familiar?
"...It looks like the dragon. From the haunted house," Harrison gawped. "Maybe...maybe the barrier's not down. Maybe somebody's weapon...." He hesitated.
"Hey," He tried. "You- anybody I know?"

Petra flicked her eyes from where they'd been on the creature to Marcus, giving him a sharp nod in response to his game plan. Sounded like a good idea to her -- although the creature didn't look all that aware, it had all but destroyed the common room, splintered wood and crumbling cement littering what had been a place for the trainees to relax and unwind. It was time to end its miserable life. The intermediate hunter's compliment earned him a slight smile, just curling the corners of her lips in an appreciative, albeit distracted 'thanks' but her eyes snapped back to the monster as it suddenly swung one of its massive arms, sending Marcus flying. Immediately her expression sobered again, eyebrows furrowing as she clenched her teeth, her fingers tightening on her mace again. Kicking off the ground, she took a running start towards the couch, using the back as a springboard to vault herself into the air. Momentum, when it came to a heavy weapon such as Cain, was a beautiful thing -- the spiked head smashed hard into its head, knocking it forward enough that she could use its back to try to push away. The retreat was only moderately successful, unfortunately. Not really appreciating the likely splitting headache it now had, the white gorilla thing flailed its arms, batting at her like a fly and knocking her onto her side to tumble a little on the floor.
This thing was no laughing matter. Already she was starting to feel the wear of its attacks, trying to control her panting as she straightened up, glancing over at Harrison as he spoke. "We'll have to assume it is, and that this might not be the only thing that got through," Petra replied grimly, "Marcus is right -- we should rendezvous with the other divisions as soon as we neutralize this enemy, organize a full lock down sweep of the perimeter. The Life hunters will have to get the barrier back online."
She didn't respond to Harrison's theory. It would only make it harder to hit the monster, even considering it was one of their own.

oh yeah, he was impressive now. Finally caught up on the game, the.boy leaped up at to attack, bring Chaka to....graze along the sides of the beast.
Needless to say, he kinda felt that the damage he was taking did not equate to the damage he was giving.

In truth, the boy wasn't happy about his last hit and so made sure to hit it hard this time, attacking with Chama's engrossed in flames.
Bad thing was that he was now down in the battle and exhausted.
"Mannnnnnnn." Figures he'd do more then a simple workout today.
What was with this place man.

The creature paid no heed of Harrison at all, though for a second, even though its eyes were staring forward, the corners of its eyes seem to flash a strange sickly yellow.
'We are....lonely....'
Opening its jaw slightly in a silent roar, it continued to plunge itself forward, breaking everything in its path, including any Hunters that got near it.

"He talked," Harrison said. "Now, hold on one second. We can't assume it's the barrier. Doesn't make any sense somebody managed to take the whole barrier out. We saw this before, Petra. You were there."
He put both blades in his sash, hands open in a conciliatory gesture. His health was pretty good. He could take a few hits.
"He said he was lonely."
Whatever it was, it didn't remind Harrison of a calculated attack."You...you okay, buddy? You don't have to be alone any more. Where you headed?"

Instead of turning around, it just continued to plunge forward, muttering the same words over and over again, at first a low tickling murmur like a whisper in the back of their mind, and then growing, the closer they got to the creature and most of all, the fog left behind by it. There was something about the fog, a stench, a feeling, a horrific prickling sensation, like continuously scratching an itch that just continued to persist, that seemed to seep into the brain and leave a sense of excessive discomfort.
'we are lonely. We are lonely. We are lonely. we are lonely. We are lonely.'
The mantra was getting louder now, the more the fog curled around the trainees. It was painful, it was loud, and most of all, it was extremely unsettling, insatiable.

Ryan returned the smile. Despite the disastrous mission, if he could even call it that, he had already put it behind him. Not to say he hadn't been angry at the time, oh no, quite the opposite. He could have strangled Marcus for calling him that night, but after he had time to cool his temper and give it more thought, he had come to realize, that it wasn't exactly Marcus' fault. If anyone was to blame, it was Julie. Julie and her ridiculous request.
He was about to say the plan sounded good, when Clarice's voice echoed through the speaker, alerting them all of the problem at hand. Said problem which soon showed it's face and took up half the room.
"Did a specimen escape from the labs or something? I mean, damn--it's huge!" He gawked up at creature and quickly summoned Locke. He had no idea what this creature was, or why it was here, but it looked as though talking was going to get them no where. The creature was a broken record.
Moving forward, Ryan curled his fist into a ball and struck the creature on the nose--or what he thought was it's nose. Unfortunately, it did a little less than he had hoped and the result was the creature knocking him back with brutal force.

Marcus looked ready to beat something, and it might not have been the abomination. "Harrison, stop talking to the thing and kill it. Even if this isn't because of the barrier, we need to secure the area and make sure nothing is amiss. If one of these things hits the pod room, or hell gets to the barrier, we are so ********." The senior hunters were as far as he knew, we either in pods or whoever ******** knew, but others were still in sleeper pods, not yet qualified to be hunter trainees yet.
Not to mention that they plain had no ******** idea what was going on. Marcus liked taking action and even if he liked having answers...sometimes like now, he was okay with just dealing with the issue at hand. As he went it to slash at it, it had a better idea, which was to sent Marcus flying back into a wall.

Cursing under his breath, Ryan steadied himself and prepared to strike again.
This creature was strong. Not all that surprising, considering it's size, but... would they be alright? With the few hunter trainees present, would they be able to take it down on their own?
With a grumble, he shoved his doubts to the back of his mind and lunged for the creature again. Now was not the time to worry about it. Thinking about it was only going to feed his doubt and that would only make him distracted, and right now, he didn't need distractions.
Reaching the creature, Ryan was successful in only scraping his claws across the creatures cheek, before it hit him hard again and sent him skidding back across the floor.
"Think there are any others like this one on the island..?" He asked, slowly getting back onto his feet; wincing at the fresh bruise that was already starting to show on his arm.
The first of many, he was sure.

Petra's eyes narrowed a little in disapproval -- if she hadn't had her weapon in her hand, she might have folded her arms. But there was no way she was dropping her weapon. "A lot of Hunters are going to be lonely if their friends die as a result," she retorted, sounding unconvinced but not without some consideration to what'd he'd said. There was just the slightest tinge of sympathy edging into her conscience, the pathetic thing earning her a hard look that more had to do with how she was scolding herself for feeling any sympathy at all. It was a monster, and if it had been her whom had become something like that, she'd have wanted them to end it quickly. The thought strengthened her resolve.
She was about to tell the other moon hunter that they couldn't take the chance when next thing she knew, he was already putting his weapon away. "Harrison!" she half-gasped, half hissed, reaching to grab his shoulder to pull him back. The screech, however, brought both hands to her ears, the voice ricocheting painfully in her mind.

Giant confused hairy thing he could maybe deal with. It wasn't any worse than some of the calls they got about drunks. But the fog, the weird, queasy feeling of gradually losing it...Fog meant home, didn't it? Here on the island. Where there was plenty of fog. Petra's hand was on his shoulder, and he stumbled backwards, clutching his head with one hand and a sword handle with the other.
B0nez was doing most of the thinking for him, at this point. AoE Damage, he's hitting you with a status effect.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THAT MEANS, Harrison thought back, mentally shouting over the increasing charge of LONELY, LONELY, LONELY.
B0nez provided some scratchy backup music, and said philosophically, Who cares what he was.
SHOULDN'T WE...SHOULDN'T WE AT LEAST...
He pulled the smaller sword out, holding it in uncertainty at the fog, the blurry figures. Something huge and smelly swept past, the gorilla, and maybe it brushed his sword for a brief instant, but he felt another fist and was pressed back again into Petra.
"Something's....something's really wrong," he groaned, dizzy.

Seriously, what was the bigger moon hunter thinking??
"There for what? What are you talking about dude?" Dakota was a fresh hunter, a new recruit before any of the island events so he was curious. He didn't have time to really think of asking any other questions as the fog started to set in.
"What the ******** is this." Dakota didn't feel well, he didn't like this and most of all, he was scared.
The sounds started to get louder and annoying.

Harrison turned to Dakota, still gripping only one sword and trying not to reel.
"We fought a dragon like this, with no color and blue eyes, and it was because there was this Hunter, and her weapon just...just ate her, and then she turned into this thing. And there were...there were voices like then too, it's gotta be the same thing, B0nez thinks- s**t where is all the fog coming from?"
