Six...cups of coffee..? Candace's eyes were wide as she stared at him. Six cups.

Well..she supposed it was better than six cups of booze.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 04, 2012 12:50 pm

"Six cups?" Marcus sounded agitated. "Were you the one who finished off the coffee pot and didn't bother to set it up for anyone else?" Marcus had wanted coffee. He wanted coffee now. But there had been no coffee left. Jerry.
Jerry, Marcus was about 10 shades of jealous right now. That and maybe your smiling so hard was making him go 'HNNNG STOP BEING CHEERFUL THERE IS NOTHING TO BE CHEERFUL ABOUT'.

He was ready if not planning to just punch some one’s face in if he could. Agitated Marcus was not a friendly Marcus in the slightest, and even Cass might need to be wary of his bite and bark. Mostly it was bark and no bite but right now if his right triggers would hit, Marcus would definitely bite. Jerry was hitting a few buttons but not hard. Not yet anyway. Hit them long enough and you might as well have hit them hard and fast sun hunter.
Granted, Jerry kicked Marcus’s a**, but the moon trainee didn’t give a s**t about that right now. He was focused on his brooding.

Such a broody boy.

Clarice stepped out of the pod room and whispered softly to her leader, who turned to Caelius and tilted his head in a silent shall you do it or will I gesture. The Death leader gave him a narrow look before turning to glare at the trainees, "The senior, more capable hunters, will be leaving now on a mission. It's time for all of you to prove your promotion is more than just a new coat." His expression and tone were nice a combination of obviously thinking they were going to ******** this up while at the same time threatening the group with unspoken consequences should they fail him in this.

Basically he was already thinking of all the s**t he would be putting them through once they returned.

The doctor simply nodded along, admired the cut on several of the ladies' uniforms, before adding, "As intermediate trainees, you'll be in charge, so do avoid letting the kids run wild, though it would be best to avoid a mutiny as well. Power has a balance, you know."

The blonde assistant's head popped out of the room again, and whispered to H. He smiled and continued, "Right, we're off."

Caelius waited until the Life leader was through the door before following. This was possibly an age before beauty thing, or a reluctance to show the doctor his back. But more likely he just wanted a few extra moments to glare at the trainees, as if he could force them into being reliably competent through sheer will and intimidation alone.

The OOC

Your hunters are now the active authority in the divisions, with a few exceptions, such as the Mist's Lance, all senior hunters, assistants, and leaders, are in the pod room, going to Halloween. ICLY this absence won't last longer than 12 hours. You may turn this thread into an ORP if you so wish.

"Now, Marcus. Coffee can be made later. We should be glad he had six...cups of coffee..." Just keep telling yourself it's better than having had six glasses of alcohol, Candace. Just keep that mantra.

Caelius spoke up and Candace's eyes narrowed. I'm perfectly capable, damnit. Atropos chuckled and cooed softly in her head. Yes, her promotion was definitely more than 'just a new coat'. She earned this! a*****e. She was already well aware that anything they did would never be good enough for him. Even if they did well he'd come up with a reason they failed and punish them in some way. She'd just like to take Circe one of these days and shove her handle so far up his-- You will not be touching Circe ever again. Atropos snapped in reminder, making Candace sigh. She didn't mean...fine, fine.

She caught H's looks toward the women in the room and pursed her lips around a smile, giving him a small wave before he spoke.

...They were going to be in charge?!

Candace's eyes widened again and her jaw dropped. Holy s**t..they were going to be in charge! This...this was incredible! "Yes, sir...come back safe." She said in amazement, watching Clarice disappear into the room followed quickly by H and Caelius.

"...We're..the highest ranking hunters on the island now? That's...kind of surreal." She paused a moment as she seemed to remember something, looking Cass' way. "Oh wait. Maybe Lance is still here."

But now what?

"I'm glad you're getting good use out of that coffee machine, Jerry. I felt like it might have been a..needed..installment.." she grinned, glad to know her hunch had paid off. Though it seemed Marcus was a bit..fussy. She looked up at him with a slightly furrowed brow, but kept her hands to herself.

"I'll start a pot for you when we get back." she offered, then fell silent when Caelius began to speak.

.....

Responsibility.

It took a moment for this to settle in, but she tried to not look to excited about having such responsibility on her plate, eyes dilating excitedly in betrayal of her inner thoughts, however. "Yessir!" she said, pondering if she should have saluted, but instead figured just acknowledging his words was the best she should do. Caelius was..particular about the habits of the trainees, she'd noticed.

Still.....

Cass looked to Candace and gave her a thumbs-up, before looking to Before, who seemed uncomfortable in his new coat. She seemed to mull about it for a moment. Hmmm.

"Well....... what do we do first?" she asked, moving to link her arm into Marcus's.

A little more than surrel Candace, it was mind blowing. They seriously.. were just going to... Yeah hopefully they didn't all die horribly. "I don't know who Lance is, but if they've all gone, no one will be doing the training runs since no one will be there to operate them, and it's probably not that safe to spar if the medics are gone too." He wanted his coffee. He was fussy and HNNG CASS HE REALLY WANTED COFFEE. Or joy cookies. Hell, Cass kisses might stave off his b***h mode but it was working in over time right then.

"Might be good to figure out who above us is left, and we'll call in the other trainees to let them know so they don't end up flipping their s**t if they can't find anyone. I guess... for the most part we just go to the observation areas, maybe do some research? I might ask the other moon guys to go to the town and help me repair some stuff. Get some training in that way."

He wasn't sure if he'd heard them correctly.

"They're leaving us in charge?" Gale murmured, mostly to himself, but since it was spoken aloud, anyone around him was likely to hear it. He reached a hand up, absently rubbing the back of his neck as he watched the senior hunters disappear one by one into the room beyond, Caelius trailing behind. The Death Hunter was the last one to leave - but not before he'd given them all a look that clearly said Do anything stupid and I'll kill you.

There were somewhere between forty and fifty hunters on the island, Gale surmised - or rather, between forty and fifty trainees - which meant that out of them, these few were the highest ranking of them, the ones that had been promoted.

<< A scary thought. >>

Hush, you.

"Maybe we should divide up into our divisions," suggested Gale, his gaze sweeping across the room. "Sort of...get ourselves acquainted a bit with who we'll be working with in our own divisions."
PostPosted: Wed Jan 04, 2012 2:35 pm

Candace frowned at Gale's suggestion. "I think Cass and I already know all the mist trainees..." She said somewhat sadly, still ignoring Before. She refused to acknowledge him as a Mist trainee right now.

"But yeah, we should let the others know we're er..'in charge' right now. Damn, it's weird saying that. Sparring does sound like a bad idea though, as long as we don't skimp on other duties just because everyone is gone." This wouldn't be so bad after all! They were all (mostly) adults here! They could handle this.

"Well, I didn't mean reintroduce ourselves or anything," replied Gale. "I mean, I know Ariane and Jude are both recently promoted as well - I just meant with the rest of the trainees in our divisions; let them know their superiors are gone and we're in charge."

He pushed his hair away from his head, quirking a brow, but said nothing more. It was a basic step, perhaps, but informing the newer trainees seemed rather important anyway - just in case.

Gale's eyes flickered towards Jude and Ariane briefly - the other two death hunters besides himself - before he settled back against the wall he was leaning on.

Responsibility.... WE were in charge! Jerry's eyes sparkled with the endless possibilities of a position of power, no matter how short a period of time it would be. "NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME!" He suddenly shouted, just barely able to curb his enthusiasm.

"Ah, okay. That makes sense." It took everything Candace had not to turn around to Cass and go 'by the way the leaders and hunters are gone'. Somehow she didn't think Gale would find that amusing. Uptight little Chipmunk. "Yeah, a bad id--"

"NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME!"

The outburst startled Candace into laughter, doubling over and snorting. "Wh-what the hell, Jerry!"

Perfect time..? Anything Jerry considered as perfect could only mean trouble for Robert.

"Perfect time for a nap, maybe." If he had a cowboy hat, he would put it over his eyes and fall asleep.

"Excited...Yes we'll go with that." Between feeling like he was being robbed of everything due to 'withdrawals' and dealing with this strange longing for a life at sea Jude found that he was rather depressed about things lately. More than he was before. He reached up and rubbed at the left part of his chest to make the uncomfortable ache go away before he fell silent again and turned his eyes toward the superiors as they spoke.

Apparently they had been left in charge.

He looked around at the others to see their reactions before Jerry's sudden outburst caused him to physically jump a bit as he stared over at his rather excitable friend, "...Perfect time?"

Should he be worried? Was Jerry going to start a sudden Moreau-style experiment on the island? Was he going to turn them all into Jew-imals?

Jude's imagination just suddenly ran off with him and Yom uttered a sigh.

"P-Perfect time for what?" He asked with his eyebrow raising.

"Just... just gather people together! Whatever room would be best! YOU!" He pointed to Robert especially, "Don't go anywhere!" To Candace and Jude's looks of anxious distrust, he merely grinned, "I'll go get my guitar!" And he turned to do just that unless someone stopped him.

Gather people together? What...for...

...His guitar.

Candace stared for a long time.

"I shouldn't have gotten him a guitar..." She knew exactly what he was up to. Candace's first instinct was to run. She should run. It was every trainee for themselves; she had already told Jerry she didn't sing.
