Mika Hisoka it's your instincts telling you something isn't right. In some cases it isn't instincts but "negative self-talk".

Mika Hisoka if you're going to quote someone, use the entire quote, not just the part you like I don't have to if I don't want to- I was just pointing out that sometimes it isn't instinct, sometimes it's people creating problems where there are none. In this case- it wasn't for a good reason, it was because he was using his previous heart ache as a measure for another boy- and that's unfair. Good on Rose for working up the courage to ask instead of letting that kind of paranoia stir up drama.

Aaaanyways. None of the people who post in here are dating experts or psychiatrists, so the best thing to do is go with your instincts. You don't have to take anyone's advice if you don't want to. But, always remember you are not a toy. You deserve to be treated with respect and deserve the to know the truth.

Mika Hisoka None of the people who post in here are dating experts or psychiatrists, Some people have taking the beginning courses needed for degrees in psychology or at least the ones needed to be a licensed councilor. Quote: so the best thing to do is go with your instincts I think balancing questions your instincts raise with a rational approach is better. That way you can get more than a gut feeling's take and instead check in with reality. cat_3nodding I mean- instincts can cause you to hurt people because you don't understand them. Plato talks about this in Crito, and in Civil Disobedience Thoreau says "They are the standing army, and the militia, jailers, constables, posse comitatus, etc. In most cases there is no free exercise whatever of the judgment or of the moral sense; but they put themselves on a level with wood and earth and stones; and wooden men can perhaps be manufactured that will serve the purpose as well. Such command no more respect than men of straw or a lump of dirt. They have the same sort of worth only as horses and dogs." Instinct without conscience makes a man a tool, not a person.

Mika Hisoka wow. this topic went from advice to debate in less than ten minutes. I think advising someone to run on their instincts alone is bad advice. *shrugs* It turned out it was- because Rose thought things through and talked to his boyfriend and things worked out and they're happy. No argument needed.
