When the reaper took her hand, Riyo carefully helped him up enough to where she could sling it over her shoulders and assist him back to school. "That'll do." It didn't mean she liked him, or that she was even close to liking him, but at least with this, she wouldn't feel guilty. It was, however, a little embarrassing to be this close to somebody. Ah. Well. He was half dead anyways. She could almost pretend he was a rag doll.
The cling of a can caught her ears, causing them to stand at attention. She said nothing, only glanced back towards the cans. It could be as simple as an alley cat searching for a good meal, but this was no time to fawn over another kitty companion.

Riyo wasn't the only one who felt awkward about this. Being helped up and about by someone he didn't like all that much was rather strange, but he supposed it wasn't as bad as if it were Titus or Mac. Even so, he wasn't entirely certain how to feel about this as she took his arm around her shoulder to support more or his weight. At the sound from above the stairs though, he glanced up and narrowed his eyes.
"I think he went this way," said one voice.
"Are you sure?" Another asked.
The voices sounded a little ways off but they were still fairly close.
"As much as I appreciate being helped out right now, I suggest you head on back yourself," Shun murmured to her. She didn't seem like the type to be able to move around while almost carrying another too easily so he no doubt was slowing her down.

So old Shun was in a shitload of trouble. As Riyo heard the voices, she shot him an 'I knew it' look. See? If he had just told her about this in the first place, she could've run off and left him in the dust. But no, it was too late for that. She'd made a commitment to get him back.
"I've got an idea." Riyo whispered to him, completely ignoring his comment about leaving him to rot. For a moment, she leaned him up against the wall while she took off her outer coat and tossed it to the reaper. There was a smaller one underneath, of course. "Put that on." And before he knew it, there was a hat atop his head. Disguises. Riyo knew how to do them.

And so Riyo took off her coat to reveal... another coat underneath. Funny. Shun recalled something like this before with her. It made him wonder just how many layers she wore.
Or why for that matter.
Then again, he didn't care enough to actually ask about it.
Furrowing his brow as he took the coat, he threw it on. It fit a little awkwardly, since he was a bit shorter and had a different body type. He wouldn't be surprised if this was tailored to her either.
As the hat was placed onto his head, he adjusted it a bit while looking around for any immediate hiding places where he could duck behind. Running wasn't really an option right about now.
Just then, the two came running down the stairs, looking around.
"Oi! You two. See a reaper come on by?" one asked while approaching them.

Well, that was fast. Riyo was about to comment on how awkward Shun looked in that coat when the men she assumed he was running from showed up. Giving Shun a side glance, she turned towards the duo. "Yes! Some a*****e reaper knocked me down and ran that way!" Riyo pointed the opposite direction of school, a look of rage in her eyes. It wasn't hard to fake, really... If she was faking it at all.

The second one seemed to be staring at Shun for a few moments but the demon girl's words caught both of their attention.
"Come on let's go," the first said while pulling him along before rushing off.
The Reaper was mildly surprised that had actually worked. Then again, Riyo was rather convincing in her words, especially with that expression she held. A part of him had a feeling that while she pointed in the opposite direction, she really wasn't acting all that much.
It wasn't until the two were out of sight that Shun said anything. Even then, it was a low murmur.
"I suppose I owe you for this."

Watching the two run away, Riyo sighed. "Well. You saved me from a gruesome elevator death awhile back." Whether or not Riyo thought the reaper owed her, it appeared she wouldn't say. "C'mon. Lets get you back so we can both stop seething at the others presence." Or maybe it was because she both knocked him down a set of stairs and got an apology. Who knew with her?
Though, before they started moving, she immediately snatched her hat back and sat it on her head. "Much better."

Ah yes, there was that. Shun had pretty much forgotten about that incident. However, he couldn't tell if that meant that they were even right now or what. He had a rather hard time reading this girl.
Raising an eyebrow when she snatched her hat back, he shook his head and started to move on with her. He didn't remove the jacket just yet, should the two decide to double back around.
Moving in the jacket was a little awkward to say the least. But he wouldn't have to wear it for much longer. He hoped.
"I have to ask. Why are you helping me now when you seemed so intent on leaving me to my own devices earlier on?"

"C'mon. Lets keep moving." The ghoul groaned and offered to help the reaper again. She'd be glad to forget this night ever happened. At the very least, she'd tripped him down a set of stairs. That had been pretty satisfying.
"Here's some advice for next time someone who doesn't like you offers a hand. Wait until they're done helping you before you ask prying questions." That was strike one, though after a roll of her eyes, it looked like Shun would finally get his answer. "You wanna know why? Because if those idiots ever found out I left you to rot, they'd be on me faster than Deacon on an unconscious, drugged hooker." That was a pretty good analogy, and a harsher way of putting that she actually cared if people left her alone. A great deal, from the amount of hate she held for Shun.

Hesitantly, Shun accepted the offer of help. Though, his eyes narrowed at the bit of snide advice she gave. It didn't matter to him if she decided to drop him then and there. He never expected her to help in the first place and part of him still suspected there was more to this.
Her actually answer was an intriguing one. It sounded like she actually cared about how others felt. This contrasted with the things he heard when he first saw her and whatnot. She could have easily left him back there, especially with the way she felt about the Reaper.
"Seems that things have changed," he uttered quietly.

"Changed?" Riyo echoed, looking towards the silhouette of the school. Why couldn't Shun just shut up? "Not particularly the change I wanted..." It was a quiet murmur. What the feline really wanted, she knew her friends couldn't give her. And yet, it was something she couldn't do by herself.. But it was something she had to do for herself.
"Since it seems we're on a neutral ground for now, let me pose a hypothetical situation to you." The ghoul started as the two trudged towards the school. "Pretend you're in a very unpleasant predicament. There's something very important you need to do, but it may very well threaten your life. You could ask your friends for help, but what you face could very well be enough to drive them away for good. You don't actually know what's going to happen when you finally face the situation head on, but from past experiences, you're certain it's nothing good. What would you do?"

While they were moving closer to the school, Shun touched his side briefly, feeling it. He was having a hard time telling if he was still bleeding at the moment. It didn't feel like it but it was possible some blood was still trickling on out. Once he got to his room, he would have to take a closer look.
When Riyo shot out a rather odd question, he raised an eyebrow before taking it into consideration. It was a guess that she was presented with this situation in some shape or form.
"That would depend on the stakes. What would happen if the task was neglected."

"The longer you neglect it, the worse it becomes." Was Riyo's simple answer. "In the end, you really can't avoid it, but at the same time there's really no way to train for something you don't know what is. It's almost like you leave it up to chance."

"There is little sense in avoiding the inevitable in that case. Face it head on. Most likely I would not involve friends in it, unless I felt I couldn't get it done otherwise," he replied after a little more thought. Shun did not like the idea of losing Mitsu, but.. if there was something he had to get done, and it was for the better, then..
Well he didn't want to think about it too hard.

Riyo stayed silent as Shun explained what he would do. Yes. It always sounded so simple on paper. "Yes. I suppose that would be the best route. About the only route." Ah, looked like they were getting close to the dorms now. "Damned if you do. Damned if you don't. But... If you wait a little bit longer, there's a small chance of having something you want for just a short time."
For a brief moment, there was a look of longing that flashed through the feline's eyes. It was as if that very thought gave hope and took it away in the same instant. "Anyways." The ghoul stopped moving just in front of the reaper dorms. "I'm sure you can make it from here." Lest she risked being seen with the enemy. That would be awkward.
