Blue eyes blinked in earnest interest as the mare retold a glimpse of her past. To even imagine wanting to separate from one's parents so young....well, it hadn't been something he wanted to do. Hell, if he could go back for second chances, he would have loved to have stayed with his parents. "Haha, so the family tree of yours isn't too terribly large. At least that gives you freedom from not babysitting others, eh?"
Casually stretching his legs, the outsider stallion walked a few more steps. It was more of a muscle memory and habit, rather than forced action. Manjii' was just an individual who was used to being in motion. And so he strolled slowly through the grass, nodding at Lovelee to join him as they spoke. "Hah, I suppose that be the reason many travel in herds. The safest and smartest mode of transport, both against predators and mother nature, especially the winter seasons." But on the other hoof it did help strengthen individuals to travel on their own, enhancing their survival skills. That is, if they did survive at all.
Then Manjii' laughed aloud while shaking his head, the mane in question also shifting back and forth. "Eh, well in the very least tha' color is a family trait." Then he peered up with an afterthought. "The orange hues especially, from my father's Troll lineage. Most of 'em though have very thick manes, long and bunched in dreadlocks." Lifting a brow at the mare, he shrugged at her own unique locks. "And you? A family trait of blended colors too?"

She was quick to smile around this stallion, for he just seemed to radiate friendliness, normally she was the prickly pear of her family, but as the years passed she had become pretty calm. " Nope, not large at all i'm sorry to say, it would have been nice to have more siblings, I used to be itching to get out from under my parents legs and not have to share with my siblings, but now, ah, I guess time rewinds for nobody." She smirked, following casually aside him, figuring, as a traveling stallion he never stayed put for very long. " True" She agreed " A herd was but a pipe dream for me at one point in my life, but luckily I ended up where I am today." She chuckled warmly " sometimes all the trials and bruises you face in life make you a better soul for it."
" A family trait, that makes lots of sense" She inspected his hair from her position, always curious, but never too much so. " Trolls and their oranges and purples, that relative i met had a lot of red, but just the same amount o purple." She smiled " It's pretty awesome either way I think, I could never get my mane to do that, short and simple works for me i guess" She laughed, flicking an ear in response to his question " You could say that, I always thought I was the odd one out, my mother had some very bright green in her hair, while my father had blond and short...My brother and sister of course look like both of them, I look like someone messed with the paints." She shrugged " But what can ya do huh?"

"Haha, you wished to escape and yet still gain more? Family can be a tricky thing, and it's not always easy to appreciate what one already has." Manji himself used to tire of his sibling's antics all the time, but after being away from them so long, he learned to overlook such petty concerns. However, he'd also learned that in his years of gruff wanderings, he had missed out on seeing many of his growing family. It truly was difficult to balance your own desires along with family needs.
Giving a friendly nod, the half-Troll couldn't help but to agree. "I could relate to that, taking on quite a few bruises and scraps myself. And most of them from my own errored ways." u,u Such was the past.
An ear lifted as the stallion wondered which of his kin Lovelee had met. Sometimes it could be an obvious guess, but with his family line and jumping genetics, it could easily be two individuals with similar traits. "Eh?" He glanced back at the details of Lovelee's mane, wondering how she could see it as nothing but simple. The short curls were endearing and held a gloss that would make any Soquili proud. So why shrug it away? Manji gave a small laugh, the sound not at all scornful. "Well then, you were blessed with a marvelous painters palette, if I do say so myself. Sometimes the odd ones out are the ones that survive and blossom against the norm."
