Well, eventually he'd find some--...someone.

Oi, carajo...

Of course he would run into a mountain of a man. Really, of all people for him to find to try to steal from... Ugh. He honestly had no desire to be beaten to a pulp today... Maybe he could just go back to the van and take whatever punishment they gave for fa--

During Inigo's internal monologue, Bonnie had bounded over to the huge man, stopped near his feet, put one tiny paw on her hip and pointed the other directly up at her target's face, then stood there menacingly. "Whimsi!!" Clyde was following after his cousin, and a string of Spanish curses started twisting through Inigo's head as he jogged over to the pair of grass-types. Maybe they wanted him to get beaten to a pulp or something..

"Well it's plum nice t' meetcha too, Sandy, Sebastian..." Tambrey kept up the accent, fighting the urge to flinch at her own voice. Just... why had she decided that was a good idea? She didn't even remember deciding to do an accent.
"Thanks f'r lettin' us join; we don't know a soul around here and 't is far more useful t' be trainin' along wid a pardner..." She smiled and looked down to where 'Brandon' and Sebastian were greeting each other. "So, what ahre ya workin' on t'day?"

'Brandon' was going to feel really bad about this, he could tell! He didn't know why; it was for his trainer and Tambrey was good to him and he wanted to do as he was told, but he just knew that he was going to feel bad.
Well. He had to do what his trainer said and play his part. Which meant presenting himself as his usual happy, smiley pokemon self.
"Reeta chee!" He returned the grin with equal wattage, extending a vine to meet the Wigglytuff's paw.

Steal Pokemon from other people? Alba silently scolded himself. When he had signed on as a Rocket, he had known he would eventually be faced with doing things he didn't like. This was one of those things, and he would just have to deal with it.

As everyone dispersed, he almost considered following after Inigo. Then he thought against it. If the kid wanted help, Alba would gladly give it. Otherwise, Alba was about to face his first major defiance of everything he had ever been raised to do. And he really, really didn't feel like letting anyone else see it happen.

Picking a direction separate from the others, Alba headed out into the more forested area, away from the city. Maybe some trainer out here would have Pokemon that were newer and not yet so heavily attached.

When the Togepi started crying, he stared at it, expression blank. That had been unexpected, but he wasn't going to let it deter him. When the girl came over, Shadow got to his feet, keeping his calm countenance. It was more difficult with the baby pokemon in his possession making a racket.

"Your Deedee?" He repeated, sounding unperturbed. "I think you might be mistaken. This is Triptic." Shadow held up his empty pokeball, as if it were proof of his ownership. "See?"

Valentine
"Oh! You haven't heard?" One of the girls spoke up, "They're talking about holding another contest in Kodo!"
"Yeah in Sandalwood." The blond girl in the group commented.
"But, what if Team Rocket decides to crash that one too?" The only guy in the group of four piped in.

-----

Inigo
The large man glared at the two tiny grass types intensely for a very uncomfortable moment, which was suddenly broken by boisterous laughter from the mountain of a man. "Ha! Aren't you two just the most precious little things! These belong to you, pal?" He bent down to try and pick Bonnie up.

-----

Tambrey
"Alright, back to work. Sebastion, Gyro ball and ice beam." The wigglytuff was off, it waddled into a free space and began shooting beams of ice around itself like ribbons, twisting into a cone. It seemed that it was supposed to make a pillar of ice and then spin up the strands of ice to reach the top with gyro ball... but this was still a work in progress, and the wigglytuff ended up trapping itself in a block of thick ice.
"Oh no! Sebastion! Not again..."

-----

Alba
"Hey!" It didn't take long for someone in the forest to notice Alba. "You a trainer?" A young woman stepped into his path. "Cause we're looking for a fight."

-----

Shawn
"What?" The girl eyed Shawn skeptically. "Then where is Deedee, and why is that togepi crying?"
To make matters worse, the little egg pokemon started struggling and reaching out towards its real trainer.

Though he probably should have been more concerned than he felt, Shadow couldn't resist a small smile at the Togepi's attempt to reach toward its trainer. He held it closer as it started to struggle, trying to make it appear as if he were warming it with his coat.

"He's just cold. And hungry, which makes him cranky. Told him we'd reach a city soon." He raised a brow, scanning the girl's form for her pokeballs. "I'm guessing Deedee is a Togepi too? Maybe it got scared and went back inside its pokeball. Did you check?"

Tambrey began to realise a slight potential problem with her plan...
Treestar had /no/ real training for any attacks that would would look all that good for a contest. He hadn't even had practice in combining any of his attacks.

Oh.. well, she could watch what this 'Sandy' did with her Sebastion and just say they were curious to watch for now. And... Just in case, maybe she could mix 'Fly' with something.
Tambrey brought Pygi out with a little flash of red light. The Pidgeotto could also be very useful when it was time to go... Fly, Sand-Attack... Useful.

"Time f'r contest practice, Sugah." She explained. "We're just watchin' f'r a moment, though."
Pygi tilted her head and looked; Treestar, a Wigglytuff and another trainer in a red coat- a stranger. She knew something was up, especially with such a bizarre accent from the grunt.

Treestar beamed happily at his bird-friend, but quietly watched the display put on by the Wigglytuff. Ooh, that was pretty.
A sentiment shared by Tambrey; if it worked, it would be a very nice contest move and she was impressed right up until the normal type got himself frozen...
"Ah. 'S a good try... An' 's good for me."
This was probably the best chance they had.
"Treestar, now." She gave the instruction "Pygi, sand-attack her! Sorry about this." The grunt slipped an apology to the woman on the end of her commands, as Treestar bolted toward her, with the intention of grabbing the Wigglytuff's pokeball, while the bird type prepared to try and sand-attack her.
She really hoped this worked as she got ready to run.

Alba jumped at the sudden appearance of another person. Just what did they teach young trainers these days? Ninja stealth?!

"Oh, um... actually..." Oh Arceus, what was he going to do? A faint glimmer of an idea came to him, and he decided to run with it as it. More like winging it. "I'm sorry. You said 'we?'" Would this woman be as eager to show her hand as she was to demand a battle? Hopefully that plural pronoun didn't mean she had other battle-happy trainer friends lurking around, and was only referring to the Pokemon she had.

Valentine laughed and rubbed the back of her head. "I travel too much to hear news." She tapped her chin in time with her booted foot. "Well...if they do crash it...Surely they'd be stopped by all the tough trainers. Right?" She inwardly cringed at the thought. Yes she was playing a part, but still, to talk like Team Rocket could be stopped...

"Any of you going to be participating?" Okay. Keep them talking. Get them relaxed, then go in for the kill.

He noticed a few things as he scanned around in mapping out this unknown aria to him. Already he saw two people, one was a little girl having what looked like a picnic in the grass with her pokemon.
She was some distance away, but he could hear the faint noise of talking, clearly there was someone else involved that he couldn't see, that much was made apparent as she stepped over to some bushes.

And then there was the girl sitting on the bench, with a Jolteon sitting by her feet, a second stage, so she was probably more of a trainer then the little girl was.
He studied what he could of her for a moment as he took in a breath around his cigarette. Pulling it out of his mouth and exhaling a breath of smoke and steam from the cool winter air, considering what he could do.
Nothing fancy really, It would be much better to have someone more... normal looking be the first to approach the person, but seeing as he wasn't checking what gang this person belonged to, he could just take whatever approach he needed to get this job done.

The gangster walked over, jerking his head toward her in a sharp greeting before he spoke once close enough. "Yo, you a trainer?" he asked, with a glance down at the pokemon by her feet, making sure that the pokeballs on his belt were easily seen, Trying not to come off as a threat right away. "Don't happen to know if I'm near a city do ya?"

Bonnie continued chattering on at the large man, gesticulating with her tiny paws, but froze with a look of horror on her face when he actually put his fat hands on her. So much so, in fact, she didn't even move and her inaction allowed him to pick her up and lift her into the air. A look of pure rage crossed her face, and she started flailing her stubby arms and legs around. "Whimsi!!!"

Clyde stopped at the large man's feet and peered up, his mouth formed into a tiny 'o' behind his paws. Oh no! "Whimsicott..." With a concerned look, he jumped up and latched onto the first thing he could reach - which just happened to be the huge man's belt. Hopefully it had pokeballs, but to disguise his true intent the blue-tinted Whimsicott occasionally released his grip on the belt with one paw in order to wave it up at the man.

"Ah, si, they're mine," Inigo said hesitantly as he slowed to a halt a few feet from the large man. He looked extremely concerned, keeping his gaze on Bonnie. "Uh, I'm not sure if you should do that, she tends to get.. a little cranky..." Which was a total understatement if there ever was one.

Shawn
"Oh. Um... Sorry..." She hadn't checked, actually. Sometimes pokemon did that, and this girl was young and easy to trick. The little girl reached into her pocket and pulled out a little pink pokeball. "Deedee?" The latch on the ball opened but nothing came out. The togepi shouted and flailed around louder when its trainer said its name.
-----

Tambrey
"What the hell? AH!" The coordinator covered her face to shield herself from the sudden onslaught of sand, which was fortunate for the rocket, whose pokemon would have easy access to grab said pokeball. Tambrey wouldn't be able to get far before a flash of light came from the cloud of sand and a Munchlax stood defiantly in front of her. "Munch!!"

-----

Alba
"Yeah, we! Me and my pokemon! What are you, daft? You gonna battle or what?"

-----

Valentine
"Yeah!" The blond girl agreed with Valentine.
"No way, there were tons of strong trainers last time, and Team Rocket beat them all!" The other girl chimed in, which started an argument between the male and female as to whether or not coordinators were actually strong trainers.
All three of them had at least one pokeball on their hips, and they were fairly easily distracted by conversation.

-----

Jerome
"Ah- Oh... um. Yeah." The Jolteon's fur bristled as Jerome approached, and the girl shrank back shyly. "Um... yeah, there's one... further up the road, if you keep going that way." She pointed the opposite way that Jerome had come from.

-----

Inigo
The man laughed boisterously, not even noticing that two of his pokeballs had fallen off of his belt t Clyde's flailing. "Ah-right, ah-right." He put Bonnie back down and pat her on the head, unphased by her fit of rage. "Woah there, little guy." He reached down, trying to pluck Clyde off of his hip. "They're a lively bunch!" He said cheerfully, which was odd considering his size and manner of dress.

If Valentine dared, she'd have a look on her face like that of a pleased Persian. Oh how perfect. An arguement. Focused on each other. Valentine could just be invisible now, having said her peace. Now...who would be her target? The male? No. Val would admit it. She was a wimp. She never would claim it was because she was smarter and knew when she was outmatched. Valentine just never dared try to go for anyone bigger than her. He might be able to over power her; and the whole point of this mission, besides stealing a Pokemon, was to not get caught.

So that left one of the others. There were four people in the group she had approached total, although it seemed like three of them were the more vocal. Valentine would have to make sure that the fourth didn't notice what happened.

Which of the females then should Valentine target? Did it really matter? Valentine supposed not. Well, here goes nothing.

"Hey! My girl here's right." Valentine strode to stand next to the blonde. "I may not know a whole bunch, but surely one instance doesn't make them all, right?" With one hand she pointed at the male, while the other she held at her side, near where the other female's Pokeball was. Valentine shifted slightly to hide what her other hand was doing. "I mean, did you know the trainers at the last contest personally? Have you seen them in action to know that they were strong?" Valentine shrugged, allowing the movement to cause her hand to snag onto the Pokeball. "But again, what do I know?"

Well /of course/ she had another pokemon.
Frak. She didn't really want to battle unless she had to; it would be better to just make a clean escape.
Well...
Where was Treestar?
He, of course, had been doing what he was told; grabbing the pokeball in his mouth and then skittering away, doing his best to return himself, and his prize, to Tambrey.
She skidded a little to a halt to allow the little pokemon to catch up to her so that she might take the Wigglytuff's pokeball, with intent to return the normal type to it.
This meant that she needed to occupy the Munchlax in front of her though, of course.
"Keep up that sand-attack on her, Pygi!" Keep that trainer busy while she reached for someone rather more experienced than Treestar.
She'd return him upon dealing with the Wigglytuff and ball, but right now she needed... Lasi.
"Confuse this thing," She told the pink bat "Supersonic, then get the both of you clear and catch up!"
The grunt intended on trying to run on and find a place to hide if she could get everything to work out. At least with flying types, she could rely on them even if she got a little distance away.
Yes, things hadn't gone pear-shaped quite yet; she still had a couple of reliable pokemon left unused so far if she needed them.

Bonnie huffed at the pat on her head, but at least the fat lump had put her down... Her golden eyes narrowed when they slid to the two pokeballs laying helplessly on the ground, and she nonchalantly sidestepped to stand between them and their owner. Clyde, on the other hand, squeaked when the large man grabbed him and he immediately let go, his mouth forming a tiny circle of surprise as he was lifted into the air. "Whimsi? Whimsi! Cott!" He waved cheerily at the human, quite opposite to his cousin's reaction, but if all worked out well the gesture would catch the man's attention for a brief moment while Bonnie grabbed the two pokeballs and shoved them deep into her pink-tinted cottony fluff. She'd had plenty of practice hiding things there - as had Clyde - before Inigo found them, and pokeballs were no stranger to the pair. Just as long as the man didn't see...

"Yeah, they really are," Inigo agreed with a nervous chuckle, his eyes flitting briefly to the pokeballs as they dropped to the ground and then to Bonnie as she hurriedly stuffed them into the fluff on her back. "We were just looking for some berry bushes though, they love berries. Their favorite food, actually," which was entirely true. "Would you happen to have seen any nearby?"

While Inigo was speaking, Bonnie quickly - and very carefully - returned to his side, and proceeded to peer up at the large man suspiciously from the safety of the back of Inigo's legs.
