“I'm surprised you didn't mention Danny,” Edel said sarcastically, making a mental note of those names mentioned. Inside, she could feel her stomach churning at the thought of approaching those few, but she couldn't just back out now. She'll muster up the courage then.
“Lizzy, huh...” Edel hadn't spoken to any of her group mate since they got back. Which was quite a while ago. She still felt bad, for some reason, but the hurt and indignation was just as strong. It didn't help that the entire trip's conclusion made her decision then a little justified – to her at least. But then again, if she had gone back then, she wouldn't have known as much as she did now.
It felt hard to mend burnt bridges – perhaps just charred actually. But out of all of them, she guess she could start with Lizzy.
“And you? Any plans you've hatched recently? I can't be the only one thinking about them even in my sleep.”

He looked at her blandly, a hint of amusement in his silver eyes. "Do you know, of all the students in the school, practically, I would probably be the easiest for the boogies to get rid of. A punk from the wrong side of the streets, only two family members, one that spends most of his time working, the other runs a shady little place in town. I disappear? No. One. Would notice. So I'm watchin' my a** and workin' on the music for the play."
He might have come off as paranoid, but it wasn't paranoia if someone was really out to get you, y'know? "I jackin' hate them, but I got one goal, and one goal only. I want off Croost Street."

The ghoul returned his look with the same expression. “Perfectly reasonable.” she commented, her tone while dry was non insincere. “I wish I could be like you,” she uttered passingly, taking the last few scoops of the ice cream.
“You shouldn't think like that though, your music, your sense for it, it could really get you somewhere.” Edel pointed the spoon at the punk reaper accusingly. “And don't you say I'm just buttering you up, I've actually practiced those rearranged scores alright?”
“I'm sure there are ghouls out there who would fall for someone as musically talented as you. Serenades are the epitome of romance. It should apply for most ghoul's I'd like to think,” she teased.

"Not always," he said quietly, thinking of his failure chasing Xiu. "Sometimes nothin' you can do can get you what you want. But hell, maybe in that case it was better off for me. But wait, was that a hint? I'll play for you if you want," he teased.

Edel grinned at the reaper, raising her eyebrows and dropping them apologetically for his implied failure.
“Sure,” she played along.

"Okay," he said, summoning his guitar. "I don't know if I've played you this one," he said with a slight frown. "Hell, I know I gave you the sheet music, but you probably haven't heard my part." Then he started playing March, right there in the middle of the ice cream shop.

The frost demon placed her arms on the table, resting her chin on her hands as she watched Roch rock it out. It would be pretty obvious by now that there was nothing going on between those two with that choice of song. Edel took her eyes off the punk reaper to look at the other patrons in the shop. The owners looked a little surprised, but there were a bunch of ghouls at the other side that were giggling and staring.
Edel raised her eyebrow as she turned back to Roch, as if to say: see what I told you? Too bad the boil was too busy concentrating on his song to notice.

"I gotta admit," Roch said as he finished up with a grin. "It's still a freakin' fun song to play," he added, quite pleased with how it was going. "But it gets stuck in my head, which is part of why I can't sleep," he told her with a frown. He was completely oblivious to the fact that girls were watching him from all around. He was actually really used to being watched.
"But yeah, I don't want to rely on my guitar skills to make it through life. They'll be making me into a four chord mockery before I can blink. That's like... Hell."

Edel's respect for Roch had gone up a notch yet again. Not only was he talented as arrangement, his skills and his passion for music were most admirable.
“Use it to woo the ghouls then,” she commented dryly but cheekily. “So what is it you aim to do?”

"I thought I'd start out with one ghoulfriend, then if it worked out, move on from there," Roch said seriously, except his eyes were laughing. "Hey, if my granddad is as lucky as he is, and he's jackin' old, I'm sure I can at least find ONE ghoul--"

“Well, I guess I'm sorry I can't help you with that,” she hit back, charmingly. “You'll find one alright, but I'd say when it comes to ghouls, less is more.”
“You wouldn't want an angry flock of them coming after you don't you think? And their maintenance fees, along with all those children you might have to feed. Might be tough.” she mocked him with a laugh.
Honestly? The ghoul thought the reaper was still too good a person for that sort of thing. But it might be too soon to say, so she kept that comment in anyway.

He laughed. "No way, no kids for me, EVER," he told her, grinning. "And yeah, a crowd of angry ghouls might be a bit off-putting. But hell, I got no luck getting ONE, so I ain't too worried. It's more fun to run around and goof off anyway. But if you ever feel like getting serenaded, call me up," he said shamelessly. "I should have someone post my number in the ghoul's bathroom or something."

"I'll take you on that offer," she replied, grinning back. "I'd suggest not though, it would just make you look dubious. Go door to door instead." Edel was feeling a little high from all the ice cream.
"Oh, and for those bruises," she said, sliding a bar of ice across the table to the reaper.

He took it, grabbing some napkins to wrap around it, and placing it on his stomach. "Maaaan, that mallet of yours," he complained again. "But yeah, thanks, I appreciate it. Door to door, huh? Or what about an outside concert or something?" he asked, grinning.

“Well, Desiree wasn't too kind on me either,” she laughed sheepishly, wincing as she rubbed her back. Edel nodded her head and continued, “That could work too, I'd be willing to provide the accompaniment if you wish so.”
“Unless of course you wouldn't want me to steal your thunder,” she said with a laugh.
