Rolling her shoulders with a slight grunt River gave a brisk nod towards Shina, she wasn’t exactly sure where her errors were originating from all she knew was that when she performed the sideways tumble it caused her ribs and hips to ache far more than what it should have.
“Alright,” softly muttered the red haired girl, her gusto seemingly dissipating by the second as she addressed the aristocratic woman before her. “Really I have no clue what I am doing wrong, eh. Here I go.” Sucking in a deep breath before clacking her teeth together noisily the athletic tomboy physically winced in anticipation before throwing caution to the wind and allowing her body to flip to the left.
The contact caused tears to swell in the corners of her icy blue eyes, no matter how often she tried to alter the technique she could never get it right. Hissing softly the nineteen-year old uplifted her cold stare towards that of the other trainer, a thin veil of shame masking the charming sparkle that glistened from her only moments prior. “See… ow… I think I bruised it this time. Damn.”

"Oh, oh dear." Shina crouched next to the other girl. "Well, the good news is, I can see what you are doing wrong," Shina said with a sympathetic wince. "You aren't turning your shoulder quite right, and your hip is all out of alignment. I'm guessing there is also some strain on the muscles over your rib cage from the twist in your hips."
Standing, Shina moved over to a clear area. "Here, like this." She threw herself sideways onto the ground, landing in a much less painful manner than River had. "See?" Shina climbed back to her feet. "Would you like me to guide you through the motions and spot you for a few falls?"

Rolling her shoulders with a twinge of annoyance playing across her angular facial features, oh sure make it look easy why don’t ya? Bringing her hand up River pawed at her cheek and nose, the morning sun was causing her body to perspire ever so slightly and the grass was causing her skin to itch and crawl as if tiny invisible caterpies were traveling across her exposed flesh.
Blink.
She wanted to spot her? A faint shade of pink flooded her facial features making her already bright blue eyes even more noticeable against the darkened skin. Running her fingers through her messy scattered bangs the former dancer lowered her gaze towards the ground, if she didn’t know any better she would have sworn this stuffy rich chick was putting the moves on her.
“Yeah, if you wanna,” River muttered in a pitchy voice that cracked ever so slightly. Clearing her throat the nineteen-year old trainer pawed at her jaw and cheek again trying to wipe away the grime that was clinging to her skin irritatingly. “Only if you want to, that is.” Airily continued the redhead as she flexed the muscles in her abdomen as if trying to make a show of her lean figured body, stretching on the tips of her toes the youth readied herself for the next set of falls.

"Of course!" Shina said brightly. "Here, watch carefully." Shina tipped over a couple more times, letting River see what she was doing.
"Okay, now your turn," Shina said, turning to the other girl with a hand out. Shina had little bits of dirt clinging to her arms and clothes. While she wiped off the worst of it when she stood, there were streaks on her bare arms, and one high on her left cheek. Shina was messy, dirty, a bit sweaty, and quite disheveled, and didn't seem to notice at all all, let alone care. Her eyes sparkled with high energy as she waited for River to move towards her.

Icy blue eyes took in the maneuver each time it was demonstrated, with the performance of the socialite it was easy to spot where she herself was faltering. Wriggling her muscular shoulders River took in a deep breath, held it for just a moment then allowed herself to exhale as she executed the fall in a manner that was far better than it had ever been before. Tucking her knees up the youthful boyish trainer sprain to her feet then drew her fingertips across her solid core as if inspecting her abdomen.
“That felt, a lot better,” she mumbled rather absentmindly as long fingers pressed into pale, milky white flesh. “I can feel the difference in my ribs,” again River prodded at her exposed middle, the glistening crease in her stomach highlighted the twitching muscles that resided under the tight skin, standing in awe the teenager slowly dropped her hands away then glanced up at Shina. “Thanks babe.” Sweetly murmured the redhead in honeyed voice, mirth clouded her icy hues just for a moment before they returned to normal.

"Great, I'm so glad!" Shina said brightly, and to all appearances, completely sincerely. "You will want to practice your side falls whenever you get a chance, to help your muscles learn the proper way to do it." Shina giggled suddenly. "Be glad you aren't learning from my teachers!" Shina drew her eyebrows together and puffed her chest, before speaking in a much deeper tone, clearly an imitation of an older male: "Now Shina, practice that fall twenty times perfectly! Then we will do fall drills! Front fall! Back fall! Side fall! Side fall! Att! Why did you do that? You started to do a front fall and twisted into a side fall, it made you land wrong. I said side fall! Don't try to anticipate what I will say next, just do the falls as I call them!" Shina couldn't keep her face straight and giggles bubbled up, one knuckle pressed to her lips like she was trying to hold the laughter in.

The bwahahaha that escaped from deep within the boyish teenager’s chest boomed loudly as it caught in the wind upon exiting her lips, she couldn’t resist, she couldn’t hold back the laughter that plumed out from her mouth so readily as the dark-haired woman in front of her mimicked a former male instructor. “You are so cute Shina. Ya know that? Gah, that isn’t even nearly as bad as when I was being taught how to do ballet,” drawing her hand up to her chest River straightened to her full height then elongated her slender neck and angled her face so her nose was upturned and her overall appearance was somewhat snotty and brash.
“Miss Kingston! You must stand perfectly en pointe! Suck in that floppy gut of yours, hold yourself like a swan, take shallow even breathes, you are a living painting, a moving piece of art,” breaking off from the stuffy accent and regal positioning the girl gave a mirthful laugh then blew a raspberry into the air. “You wouldn’t believe how many times I have broken my toes or taken a yardstick to the face for being ‘sloppy’ ugh!” Stepping forward River wrapped one arm around Shina’s waist, her hand loose on her hip, drawing their bodies closer together the fiery redhead grabbed at the hand which resided near the other trainer’s lips, snaking their fingers together River smirked. “Care to dance?”

Shina ducked her head, and glanced at the other girl through her lashes. "S-sure. Um," reaching into the V of her top with her free hand, the one not being held by River, Shina pulled out the MP3 player that was connected wirelessly to the speakers. Spinning through her choices, she selected one. "My friend Mindy sent me this one. She said it reminded her of me." Shina cued the music, and laid her hand on River's shoulder, her back pulling up and head tilting just so as her weight shifted to the balls of her feet.

The lightly hip-hop song that suddenly pulsed the air to life brought a coy smile to spring across the boyish trainer’s face, it wasn’t a slow song which proved to be a bit of a disappointment however at the same time it was a welcomed choice. This girl had class, grace, poise, and beauty, someone of her upbringing would never fall for someone like her, but she would enjoy testing the waters. Loosening the formal grip on the other girl’s hand River allowed for a space cushion so that she could lead Shina but allow for enough room so that she herself could choose her own steps. Rocking and swaying her narrow hips the redhead swerved in a half-circle around her dark-haired partner stretching and arching her back in such ways that it was obvious that she was indeed a very skilled dancer. Pumping her legs and arms to the beat and tempo of the song blue eyes closed before tugging Shina back against her body almost roughly, the lyrics of the melody that played floated around in her mind, the message of the ballad was crystal clear.
Shina didn’t want to be saved or treated like some object to be won. She was happy just the way she was and more than likely didn’t need anyone to ruin it for her. Stepping down hard and away from the slim-figured trainer River offered up a somber grin, just like math, music was also a universal language. If she had any chance at getting with this regal fleur she would need to be subtle, then again, why would she be interested. This song rather clarified everything for her. This one was waiting for a man that would be her equal, not someone that had fallen from grace. She was no one’s equal, especially not Shina’s. “Thank you… for the workout… it…was nice.” Lifting slender fingers to the base of her neck the former-dancer brushed damp tresses of clinging hair away from her skin, even though she was smiling her best, the expression didn’t reach her eyes and left the willowy youth looking discouraged and sheepish. “Miss Shina.” The formality that dripped from her lips was low-key yet completely uncharacteristic and seemed to lack the flare of her normally over the top personality. Her heart completely crashed the party.

Shina followed River's excellent lead. The other girl gave her enough space that she wasn't being drug along like a doll, and didn't step on her toes, something Shina appreciated. Her hands told Shina where to go, gave her direction. When the song ended though, River seemed to change. "River? What's wrong?" Shina asked her new friend with concern. Was it something about the song? Maybe...River thought she wouldn't want to be friends with another girl if she was only on this trip to find a worthy husband? The song did suggest that the "Cinderella" in question wanted a prince, just not a patronizing one. Shina didn't want a prince at all. "I...Mindy said the song reminded her of me because of the way I refused to wait around for some male to tell me what to do, and the way I left. But...I'm not looking for a prince. I left to get away from the suitable boys. My most determined suitor was a little monster who wanted me for my money. I just want to get away, That someday? I'm not looking for it. If I have to, I'll adopt before I let one of those greedy, socially acceptable boys have my hand. I don't care about the scandal, the shock that I won't settle down. My happily ever after doesn't have a prince in it. But it does have friends." Shina smiled and held out a hand. "Want to help me go find a dragon to slay?"

(that was so sweet---)
River simply stared intensely at the other trainer in front of her, icy blue hues softened and a faint gathering of moisture at the lower lids. “Sorry--- I just,” a shaky breath escaped slightly parted lips. “I dunno what is wrong with me sometimes, I get overly sensitive when it comes to certain things. Music tends to pull at my heartstrings, I tend to over analyze songs since---they have such deep meanings and music has always been in my life. It is a quirk really.” A faint blush settled into the lanky figured redhead’s cheeks as she spoke candidly. Reaching out towards the extended hand in front of her River was all too quick to lace their thing digits together and give an affectionate squeeze.
“I keep trying to saddle up my white horse and find a princess to ride beside me, maybe I should just stop looking in towers, maybe my princess has already freed herself,” a tiny grin played at the corners of her lips and the blush at her cheeks spread to her ears and danced down to her slender neck. “A dragon? Well I have always wanted a dratini or a bagon, but I don’t know about slaying one.” Winking playfully River couldn’t resist her basic impulse, lifting Shina’s hand to her lips she kiss the middle knuckle then smiled sweetly. “Adventure!”

(Thanks, I try! Shina is a sweetheart, even if she is a little a lot oblivious to some things!) Missing a good portion of what River's phrasing suggested, Shina laughed. "I think you are right. I would rather tame the dragon than slay it! To adventure!" Glancing around, Shina noticed that it had gotten lighter. "Speaking of adventure, we should probably head back to the caravan soon, if we don't want to delay the group."

River rolled her shoulder in a nonchalant manner, the shrug was airy and somewhat pompous. "Yeah you are right, can't have people loosing ground because of us. Plus they might talk. I would hate to hear rumors buzzing around about us being secret lovers," especially if it isn't true, bitterly thought the redhead to herself. Folding her arms over her chest River let out a small sigh then forced an impish grin. "You go ahead, I will catch up, I still have a few things I have to take care of before I head back." Allowing a wink River spun on her heels then jogged back towards the area that she have originally came from, throwing a wave over her shoulder the teen disappeared without another word.

Shina laughed at River's joke before gathering her things and heading back to the caravan. It was wonderful making new friends!
