"Just, um... just let me..." Taryn stood and went to the end of the bed, pulling off her handmade blanket and holding it to her chest. "Alright so... um. Goodnight..." At least her cough was comfortable!

"C'mere," he muttered, irritated that he had come ALL this way, just to sleep, and she was ruining it for him. "I won't do nothin," he promised, looking at her. "I just need sleep. Please, Taryn?"

Taryn looked surprise, eyes wide and lips parted.
"...what?"

"I shared my bed," he said. "You share yours. And it ain't like we're sleepin sleeping together," he added. "Please? Just for a couple of hours--um... unless you're worried about the snake. She can bite me, it's okay. Jove bit me tons of times." He yawned, his eyes slowly closing.

Look at him...
This was the most peaceful Taryn had ever seen Roch, and her heart ached for how much he had been suffering lately. Maybe she could stay with him, at least until he fell asleep. The poor boil looked absolutely terrible... and so sweet, almost innocent...
"Alright..." she said finally, trying to hold the blanket around her as she slipped out of her day-clothes and returned to her night gown. She sat on the edge of the bed, realizing now how heavy her had felt, how early it really was. Maybe she'd nap herself...

He kept watching her. But slowly, ever so slowly, his eyes closed and his breathing evened out. He'd been right! Taryn had special sleepy skills!!
He had no clue how ridiculous that thought was at the moment. Seriously, man. Not enough sleep makes you totally moronic.

Taryn was glad that she could keep some room between them, even if it wasn't much. For quite some time her nerves were on end and sleep was impossible, but once she had grown comfortable enough with the almost motionless body in her bed, she began to drift herself. Within the hour she was asleep herself, above the covers wrapped in her blanket and breathing softly, a hand up by her face.

Hours passed, Roch sleeping heavily in her bed, not touching her, just as he'd promised, not that he was even aware that he was keeping his promise.
And then, at almost noon, he woke up. Slowly he looked around. "Taryn?" he asked. "Where you at?"
And what the jack had he just done? "Jack," he muttered, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "What was I thinking?"

Taryn was in her room, as per usual, bent over her coffee table from the floor with a pencil to her lips. As much as she liked Roch, she didn't want to leave him alone in her dorm all day. It was mostly based on a fear for him, not for her things.
"In here!" she chimed, looking toward her bedroom doorway and waiting for Roch to appear. She saw his lower body move, at the very least.

He climbed out of the bed, still fully dressed, and stretched. "I'm sorry, Taryn, seriously," he said as he headed into the room she was in. "I was so jackin' out of it, I guess I did something stupid," he admitted. "It was either come here or take Xiu up on her offer of tea, and... well, I don't trust drinks and stuff that's supposed to make you sleep much at all."
He frowned, thinking for a moment. Had he told her he was no longer crushing on the other ghoul? He probably should, but this seemed like a really awkward moment for it for some reason. "Thank you," he said, instead. "Jack, I haven't slept that solidly in weeks."

"Stupid? You kept your word," Taryn said, but she sucked in her lips and brushed at her hair. Did he remember anything? "There's no reason to thank me, I didn't do anything... I'm just glad I could help?" Now she smiled up at the boil broadly, playing with her pencil in her free hand. Abigail was watching Roch carefully, looking him all over and making eye contact on and off.

"Word?" he repeated blankly. "Oh, to not do anything?" he asked, his attention on the snake that was looking him over. "Yeah, um, Dad said that that sort of stuff is only for people who've been dating for six months or longer," he said, a bit confusingly.
Then he sat on the ground, summoning his guitar. "But I DO remember wanting to make friends with your snake," he told her. "So I'm gonna try something, okay?"
Then, not giving her a chance to explain, he started playing a simple snake charmer song on his guitar.

Six months? They weren't even dating, what was he on about?! Taryn did blush at the idea, but shook her head to clear it and opened her mouth to speak again... and stopped abruptly. What was he doing...?
"Roch, I--"
It wasn't worth it. The chimera just smirked and shook her head, letting Roch go on and do it. Abigail looked between him and his guitar in what seemed like confusion.

"Too boring, huh?" he asked the snake. He would have told Taryn to go on with her work if she hadn't been already. This was between him and-- "It's Abigail, right?" he asked Taryn. "I think you told me once." At least he hoped it was Abigail, otherwise he might be bit for being such an a** as to not remember her name. "But gimme a second, I can do something better," he informed the snake before thinking a moment. Then he started playing his favorite laid back song, Perfect Waves.

Wow, he was really into this snake charming thing, wasn't he? Taryn rolled her eyes again and pretended to go back to work, but still she was mostly just listening.
"Yes, it's Abigail," the ghoul nodded, tapping her pencil on the desk a bit. Her tail, meanwhile, stuck her snout very close to Roch's hands, watching him manipulate the strings, and then appeared to be moving with the music. It was at perhaps half-pace, but the snake was clearly listening.
