"I missed you too Benny~," She cooed up at Ben and even leaned giving him an affectionate little peck and then her wings spread and she moved to fly her way up to her perch on Kettil's shoulder.

Kettil gave her only a light tug to help her on her feet and then let go so she could go about recollecting her hat smiling a bit when she told him to stop nagging her the smile turned into a pout in short moments when she threatened that she was never going to cook dinner for him, "Unfair," he protested.

His stomach also grumbled its own protest. That or it was just complaining to complain.

Lark just chuckled and bumped her shoulder against Kettil's, though she was careful not to dislodge Endzela from his opposite shoulder. She crossed her arms over her chest and slowly moved forward with Ben loping behind at a more comfortable pace.

"Where they got ya stayin' at, then? Gonna have t'get y'a room real close t'mine," Lark joked, "like y'promised when we chatted. I got m'room all set up nice. S'real big, I think I toldja that." She fell silent. Lark had never been much of a chatter.

She sent a pointed gaze to his talkative belly and shook her head before laughing, reaching forward with a pointed finger to jab at his torso.

"S'awful chatty, innit?"

He lightly bumped at her back not one to be outdone via playful bumping. Kettil walked along with Lark thoughtfully, "I picked a dorm at random. Once I know for sure what is going to happen I'll see if I can sneak into one closer to ya. It's more like I'm a squatter than anything. Hope they don't catch wise," he said freely with a small shrug.

Being so unsettled didn't sit well with him but he would deal with it. It is all he could do.

"Hey you'll show me your room, right? Also what's the real estate like around there? The rooms free?" Kettil asked in a chipper tone.

The jab caused a small giggle followed by an attempt to hold her hand back to prevent further jabs, "Hey now!"

Lark laughed loudly.

"'course I'ma show ya m'room. If y'can't get a room straight away, y'can sleep on m'couch." She grinned at Kettil. "Y'know, th'one I shoved y'off when we was kids and y'fell so hard y'had a bruise on yer arm what was so nasty and big that yer ma got right pissed?" It hadn't been the first time one of them had bruised the other, and it likely wouldn't be the last, either.

She shrugged at the mention of free rooms.

"I'unno. Assumin' th' oldies pay fer mine. Don't matter none t'me."

"Maybe I'll just move in with you forever," he teased lightly with a small chuckle. As she reminded him of the couch he just laughed loudly, "Oh Jack. That old thing? Yeah. I remember that couch. Good times on it," he said smiling fondly.

He tilted his head a bit to the side and shook his head, "Nonono, what I mean is are they open? Anyone else livin' in them? Can't live in the room next to ya if I can't get in the room cause someone else has takin' it up."

Lark snorted loudly at his comment about moving in with her forever.

"Jack off, then! With th' way y'snore I'd hafta smother y'with a pillow, too right!" She was kidding. Mostly. Lark wasn't even sure that he snored anymore -- it'd been a long while since they'd had childish fort-making sleepovers at his house.

"Aw, right, ehm." She floundered a little. "I'unno? I ain't think I got someone livin' next t'me? I think it's open, most likely. First floor, though, cuz Ben don't like stairs or skelevators." Lark grinned.

Ben snorted.

"I don't snore!" He insisted with a loud laugh, "You just want an excuse to smother me with pillows you little murderer," he grinned as he glanced back at Ben, "isn't that right, Ben? She just wants to end me."

Honestly he knew she didn't but that didn't mean he couldn't give her crap about it.

Endy just gave a small snort, "My darling Lark would never hurt anyone."

"Bah, La-la, it is just a joke," he assured quietly as he reached up rub at the side of Endzela's head which she leaned into lightly after nipping his fingertips.

Kettil seemed thoughtful at the moment, "That'll be mine. Be ready for invasion once the dust settles."

Ben cackled loudly, shaking his head as he slowly plodded along behind the others. He dared respond with a cocky, "Aye!"

Lark, on the other hand, cooed softly at Endzela. "Ach, Endzzzzela," she almost purred, her attention locked on the beautiful, soft owl. "Y'know me too well." She wrinkled her nose in a smile before turning her attention back to Kettil.

Oh, Kettil.

"Hah!" She dug her phone out of her pocket, unlocking it with a quick swipe. "Might as well check t'see if there's any news onnif yer goin' home, then." With slender fingers she aptly made her way about the mobile interwebs, chewing on her lip as she read what little information she could find.

And then her face lit up.

"Ket. The school is stayin' open." She looked dumbfounded for a moment before she shrieked and threw her arms around his neck, likely dislodging Endzela in the process.

"Yer stayin' here!"

Endzela preened happily as Lark turned her attention to her and seemed happy, "Of course I do! You're my Lark-bird."

Kettil tilted his head as he watched her get out her phone falling silent. He wanted to see what was going to happen and thus he got obnoxiously close to Lark as he stood behind her his head coming to rest on her shoulder for a brief second when it seemed that the Good News was found and read he backed up a bit and laughed loudly as his arms wrapped around her firmly and he swung her about, "YEAH!!" Endzela safely took to the air for a moment landing in a nearby tree.

"I'm glad I'm stayin'! And you're stayin' too! And..." Kettil paused a bit. Freya had wanted to know as well she'd mentioned it the night before but...

He shifted his weight from one foot to the other as he hesitantly let Lark go, "I'm gonna let Freya know too, she'd be excited to hear."

The boil got out his Eyephone and sent out a text to Freya.

Talk about insta-killing Lark's excitement. In. Sta. Kill.

The moment that he let Lark go, the very second that name came out of his mouth, Lark clammed up. It was so stupid. He'd said that he was just going to try and be friends with her. Why was it bothering her so much, even now? It was so annoying, and Lark's fist instantly itched to smash into that pretty face again. That pretty face with the pretty long hair and the big boobs and curvy hips and Kettil's heart and everything else that Lark didn't have. Whatever. She was over it.

She crossed her arms over her chest and shot Kettil a glare. A heated glare. He was so stupid.

"Ask 'er how 'er eye feels, mate."

Okay, maybe she wasn't over it. Hah.

He knew he did bad as soon as Lark went quiet. Kettil tried to ignore it for now.

Don't start a fight. Just let it go. Don't start a fight. Just let it go. Don't start a fight....

Kettil gave a small indifferent grunt and now pulled all of his focus into the Eyephone, "Why don't you ask her?"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 15, 2011 4:39 pm

Lark was outwardly fuming. Her eyes flicked from his phone to his face five or six times. Her mouth was pulled down in a taut frown, brow creased in deep lines. She jerkily tugged her hat down a few inches before crossing her arms over her chest.

Lark refused to cry. Nope. Tuck those tears away until she was alone. No way. It was how she'd been coping since she first heard about Ket's feelings for Freya. Alone with not even Ben to hear her. She'd cry and scream into her pillow when the emotions overcame her, and then she would pick herself up and carry on like nothing had ever happened. It'd been easy when he wasn't blatantly yapping away with Freya, but Lark was a determined ghoul.

"Yer such a jerk, Ket."

She was half-tempted to snatch the phone from him so that she could throw it to the ground. Smashing that blasted thing beneath her booted heel would feel so good.

His head jerked up toward Lark's form and he just stared at her for a long time and his dark green eyes narrowed at her and suddenly he turned his back to her fiddling with his phone a bit more. Now he was texting his mother letting her know he wouldn't be coming back home so soon and ...

Augh. That Lark. Just ...Guh.

"I'm a Jack damn jerk just because I wanted to let a friend know that the school isn't closing?" He said his voice had turned cold, he didn't want this. Kettil wanted this to stop. Stop right now. Just no.

He bit down insults. He wouldn't do that to her. He wouldn't call her names.

She was feeling utterly and uncontrollably irrational and she hated it. Lark despised feeling this way. With those words he'd uttered, he'd thrown her crap right back into her face and Lark hated the bitter taste. She wanted to be able just to shut her hateful mouth and just ... get over it, get over him, but it was hard for the ghoul to do. And it was so stupid. So, so stupid.

Lark narrowed her eyes at the back of his head. He knew she hated it when he did that crap, when he talked to her without looking at her.

"Why y'gotta do it now, though? Y'gotta jest.. I was givin' y'a hug, Ket. Sharin' m'happy with ya, n'then y'jest.. grrrghh, ferget it. We goin' t'get some food or what."

She wanted to sock him in the arm, but she refrained. Build a bridge, get over it. She just had to keep reminding herself.

He'd look at her but he could never stand to see her when she's this upset with him. He was barely able to withstand the force of her glare that came at the back of his head and then she spoke again and Kettil's shoulders slumped and suddenly he turned on his heel to face her his expression somewhere a mix between just guilt and uncertainty.

He should just drop it. Just let it go but he walked over to her tucking his eyephone away now to grasp at her arm, "Lar. Jack damn it. I wasn't meanin' to kill your happy and s**t. I just..I thought maybe Freya'd like to know...so ...she could be happy and tell her friends and...whatever, I mean.."

What did he mean? He didn't know. He just didn't want to 'ferget' it .

"I wasn't...doing it to be a ... whatever." Moron he supposed was a good word for it.
