"HAH!" Freya's bright persona returned in a heartbeat. "Whatchyeh thinks yehr crazy or somethings? Yehr not stayings in no inn, yeh little brats! If yeh don't has a dorm, yeh can stays at mine until they kicks us all out in two weeks."

She paused, thought about it for a moment, and regretted her offer - if only because she realized he'd have a better one awaiting him. Plus, upon thinking about how she would feel if Herryk had a ghoul staying in his room..

..Yes, this second idea was probably better overall. "Or, yeh knows Lark will lets yeh stay with her, too. None of yehr ghouls would ever lets yeh stay at an inn, Hooter. Not even Endy."

Freya stuck her tongue out at the owl, cooing gently. "Oooh, so goods teh has yeh backs in my arms again, little love."

Freya breathed out a little sigh she had been holding in, and nodded sharply. "There's lots of rooms in theres! Trust me, even if they don't assigns yeh one, we'll sneaks yeh in." She snickered and bumped against him playfully. "The walks there is a little bits long, I'd offer teh fly yeh but I'm not strongs enough just yet to carry a strapping boil like yeh. So walkings it is!" She slid the handle of the bag through to her wrist, and then snatched his hand, pulling him along. "Besides, I don't knows why yeh thinks yehd trouble anyones by staying with them. Didn'tchyeh already promise me we'd have sleepovers? So what's the difference?"

Clouds passed overhead, leaving shadows that drifted on and off of them. Freya smiled wistfully at the owl, her eyes fluttering when she spoke to her. "I'm still not used teh hearings yehr beautiful voice, Endy. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside."

"OH HO, that's right! Yeh better be savings a lot more moneys for that endeavor, friend. 'Cos yeh ain't gots no chance beatings me at that!" Freya snickered, linking her arm with his despite the bag she was holding. "And I has no plans. Though.." Her eyes looked just a little doubtful. She eyed her phone in her pocket, considering. "Might needs teh makes sure of that, actually. Yehr right - yeh DIDS gives no warning! Who knows-" She winked cheekily. "I mights be busy after all."

When Endzela questioned her, she gave the owl a scandalized glance. "Endy, yehr voice is so beautifuls, it would makes the strongest valkyrie cry." She murmured lovingly, bending her head in to give the owl a kiss on the head.

"Now, let me takes yeh both homes with me and never, ever lets yeh go." She gave Kettil a soft, satisfied smile. "Welcome home, Kajika." She murmured, leaning in and pressing a chaste kiss to his cheek. "Even if it's only for a little whiles."

"I am free right now, Hooter! I will shows yeh all the corners." She laughed freely, thoroughly enjoying their time together as it settled on her heart like a warm blanket. Everything seemed just as comfortable as she'd hoped it would be, even though it was their first time meeting together. It felt like they'd been friends for their entire lives.

And then he had to go and say one of the nicest compliments she'd ever received. Perhaps not the nicest, but it certainly was enough to make her sure steps falter and slow, if only for a moment.

Her thoughts went into overdrive as she figured out the best way to handle the situation. She sounded confident, and even cheeky when she replied, but she was unaware of the telling blush that bloomed on her cheeks, and crept down to her pale neck, flushing it with color. She was oblivious to it even as she turned to give him a big, cheesy grin.

"Of course I am! Don'tchyeh remembers, I tolds yeh! The school picture, I don't likes it. Very unfetchings. If I wasn't prettier than that pictures, Hooter, I woulds be very disappointed." She straightened a finger out from the hand under his arm, and poked his rib. "Wotchyeh didn't tells me is how much handsomer yeh are than yehr pictures. Yehr gonna breaks some hearts at Amity, my Hooter. I can tells already. Breakings my heart right now just standings next to yeh!"

"Ooh, yes," She nodded, making an exaggeratingly serious face as she nodded sagely. "You has a very pretty face, Kettil. Is prettier than my face, which is somethings. So pretty, yeh should models for the magazines. Puts some flowers in your hair and make yeh looks like the princess yeh were meants teh be!" She stopped in her tracks, put the bag down, and reached up to pinch his cheek. "Ooh yeh makes me so jealous with that pretty face!"

"JEALOUS, HAH!" She had just /said/ she was jealous, but joking about it and having him say it were two different things. Her eyes dropped to look at her hand as it was pulled away, and her expression pinched brattily, until her gaze flickered back up to see him leaning in.

It wasn't a joke. Kettil was a beautiful man. It was hard to look at that, and the hidden emotion in his eyes, and not feel something when he leaned in to her. Luckily, the discussion she'd had with Herryk was fresh on her mind, and she knew above all that no amount of pride should get in the way of doing what was right. If she didn't know better, she would have called Kettil on his bluff instantly, and he would be choking on her tongue.

But she knew better.

And she never wanted to hurt Herryk the way it would hurt her if the situation had been flipped.

So instead, Freya leaned in - still hopefully an unexpected maneuver - and butted his forehead with hers, letting it rest there as she glared at him in a bold challenge.

"I can'ts." She murmured. "I'm not a lesbian."

OH SNAP KETTIL NOW WHAT.

Kettil was being outright scandalous. He was lucky she loved him so much, because if this was Mac, or some other skeevy scum, his face would be red from a slap to the face right now. Instead, her jaw dropped in a gasp of mock-disgust, which made his kiss just a little awkward, but no more or less inappropriate than it was meant to be. When he pulled away, her entire face was pinched up in the brattiest, most ridiculous expression she could manage. It did well to hide her still blushing face, because it was just a mishmash of facial features looking up at him childishly.

"HOOTER." She cried out, sounding scandalized. "Yeh don't talks to a lady like that. Yeh talks to a nasty ghoul like that. Not a lady!" She shoved him point back in the chest, picked his bag up in her hand again, lifted her chin in the air, and stormed off in a huff.

Bratty Freya was bratty.

Oh, but she could log off on him. In fact, she totally had. As he coaxed and pleaded with her, she seemed completely ignorant, stomping along with the owl in her arm and his bag in another. Her chin was high up in the sky, and she wasn't looking where she was walking.

This was headed for disaster.

But at least now Kettil would get a taste of what was to come when it came to dealing with Freya's .. more impudent side.
