"Oh?" She couldn't resist chuckling, although she was happy at Amphi's words; it would be nice to actually be able to call the mermaid a friend, "Well, lying isn't nice anyway! I think your honesty is a good trait of yours! What are your sisters like? I'm an only child, so I love hearing about other people's siblings!" Every family was so different!
"You're welcomed to play with it anytime! Ohhh, we have to change that and get you to know more people... Oh! You should meet Junko! She has lots and lots and lots of pretty black hair! We could do each other's hair one day," She nodded, smiling away as she giggled, taking the ghoul's hands and giving them a comforting squeeze, "And thank you for talking to me about it... I really appreciate it. I feel like we could be good friends now!"

"Eh?" She stared with doe eyes before looking down. She had heard that her honesty was very refreshing, from the few people she did associate with. She was pleased to know that...something about herself was likable. It wasn't that she lacked self confidence really, but because she was so uncomfortable out of water.
"Your an only child?" She pulled back with a little surprise before smiling, eager to talk of her sisters and to show Lizzy what its like. "Well sometimes..." She began, thinking of her sisters before her face fell..."No your lucky, good gracious, sister's are a handful! We aren't really blood related....at least in the sea we aren't considered blood related. We're part of a small clan of mermaids that dedicate ourselves to the worship of our mother goddess of ancient. I assume we call each other sister's because well, we all share that one mother." Amphi smiled again, "I have many that I can tell you about, at least ten or more. But I'll tell you the one I am closest to though." Her face scrunched together.
"Her name is Undine. She is the oldest of us mermaids, considered our leader, queen some may say." Amphi cocked her head in thought, "She has one of the saddest songs and story. She was a mermaid once very dedicated and in love.....with a land walking demon." She looked around before nodding, "Such as you. I do not remember what he was though, I was too young. He was killed in the human world and my sister never saw him again. It broke her heart and made her song, her Siren's song all the more powerful. She could even entrance her own kin, other mermaids." She nodded, "She's bitter to the landwalking world now, because she doesn't have her love anymore but.....she loved me very much and treated me very well. It was only cause of her that I was allowed to come here." She shook her again. "She said that while she didn't want me tainted with the influences of Landwalkers, that she wouldn't hold me back in ignorance. I think she hopes I learn from this and become as powerful as she is." She smiled. "Though I am never going to be as powerful as her." Amphi nodded sadly. To achieve what her sister had, she'd have to suffer something terrible. She never wanted that.
"Really!" She perked up at the idea of playing with the girl's flurry of pink hair and smiled, she liked to braid and to wrap them, it was too bad her hair was not long enough at the moment. "Oh...oh more people." She flushed, "May..Maybe! Junko?" The name didn't ring a bell with her but it sounded like a pretty girl, and to have lots of hair, it must be pretty if Lizzy thought so.
Her head instantly nodded before she looked down. "No matter what, I think.....I think we'll be great friends." She laughed. "I feel...A lot better now." Amphi nodded.

"Ten or more? That's amazing!" She had been meeting students who came from huge families, and it was just so hard to imagine that! If it was anything like living in school though, it couldn't be that bad right? She had always wanted a big, lively family, after all, "Aww, but when you're the only one, it gets a little lonely when there's nobody to play with or talk to."
Her mother had always tried to be there, but she wasn't omnipresent; there was no way she could be there all day.
She listened quietly, a slight frown on her face; she couldn't help feeling sad for Undine; the thought of loving someone so much, and then knowing you could never see him again? That must be terrible; so terrible that she couldn't even imagine the pain one must feel from knowing about a loved one's passing... She was sure that her mother felt that way too, when her father passed away. While she was too young at the time to remember her reaction, Lizzy was sure her mother was heartbroken.
"Well... Sadness is one thing, but I hope your song is filled with happy memories instead," She smiled, giving a firm nod, "I'm sure you'll be powerful in your own way." She would hate for Amphi to suffer the same fate... Some sadness in life was inevitable, but to be bitter and sad for the rest of her life? She did not want that for anyone.
... Well, anyone but those hunters.
"Yes, Junko! She's the current Student Council vice-president!" Her smile widened; she could go on and on about the ghoul, but didn't want to bore Amphi with details. It would be best if the two could meet face to face!
"Me too," Amphi's laughter was somewhat contagious and she found herself laughing along, "That's good to hear! I'm glad this talk helped." It helped her too.

"Yes...Um ten...or more." Amphi flushed at the ghoul's enthusiasm before thinking, what would she do without all her sisters? Could she handle being alone? No, she really couldn't. "This is true and I'm sorry you were alone...at least you have friends here now." Amphi generally wasn't a touchy feely person but she hugged the ghoul, cause she felt like it needed to be done.
"Xiu said the same thing to me when I first met her." Amphi smiled after talking about Undine before waving her hand, "Though I love my sister very much, It was better for her that it happened the way it did. Otherwise we would be a very elusive clan of mermaids, and probably not very nice to other kinds." Amphi hated to phrase it that way but it was true. "Though it would've been better if he hadn't died at all." She frowned before slapping her knee, "I'm not sure how I feel about the situation after all."
Her frowned deepened more before shaking her head, "I have nothing to be sad about now, nor will probably in the future. At least...as long as those damned hunters do anything." She whispered the curse at the humans before her eyes widened and she covered her mouth. "Sorry! I hate them so much! Oh sorry! Okay subject change!"
"She sound's like she'd be nice to meet then." Amphi smile returned full force before getting up. "I...I hate to cut this short but I promised a friend a swim and I don't want to disappoint. I don't want to be a stranger so....so I will try to talk to you more often okay?" She wrung her hands together before thinking, "And I want to hear about your family! I'll tell you more stories about my sisters if you like when we talk next." She smiled once more.Dragain All the tags for you 8D We can end this if you'd like and make one in the future for more Lizzy/Amphi friendship~~

Lizzy, on the other hand, was a rather touchy-feely person, which might be why she readily returned the hug, giving the mermaid a smile, "Yeah! I love school... It's like a home on it's own, and friends are like family." A little on the mushy side, but she had gone through enough with her friends to know that they must feel the same way.
"Well, we can't change the past, but we can change the future," She nodded; it was sad that her sister's lover passed away, but it's not like anything would be able to bring him back... Even magic wouldn't be able to bring back those who were truly dead and gone.
Reaching out to give Amphi's hand a brief squeeze at the mention of hunters, she shook her head, "Oh, don't worry about it... I'm not too fond of them myself." She frowned, remembering everything they did, and how they made their lives miserable... It was depressing, and the topic switch was eagerly welcomed.
"I would love that!" She started to smile again, standing up after Amphi to show her to the door, pausing briefly at the doorway to wave after the ghoul, "Enjoy yourselves!"
