He was egging her own and encouraging her to do terrible things and it was working. Rage was boiling up within her. She wanted to punch that pretty face until it was black and blue, and she wanted to chop his hair off with her feet. Candace's fists clenched and her eyes narrowed as he walked up to her and slammed his hourglass against her chest, grunting and stumbling back with a hand over where he had just hit her. ********. CANDACE. What are you doing? Candace winced at the sharp voice in her head. It was certainly enough to throw her off her groove and knock a little sense into her head. I...he..he... Atropos snarled. Don't stoop down to his pathetic level. Or I will end you.

Pathetic...

Candace was rubbing where she'd been hit as narrowed eyes turned toward Jude. He really was acting like her when she'd had Circe. She had to admit it was interesting to see it from the point of view of the trainees she had essentially attacked that day. It was unsettling. He needed some sense knocked into him.

She sighed, smiling sweetly. "While your talk is cute, it's just not how I operate with fellow trainees." Candace suddenly kicked a leg out and hit him square in the chest, forcing Jude back away from her. "I'll shittalk and piss off one of those monsters, sure. But I don't need more hunters hating me than I already do." She wasn't Robert. She wouldn't beat someone within an inch of consciousness just because she could.

"Yet here you are reacting and jumping around like a little circus midget," he teased simply. He was just continuing on with his little spiel simply either because he could or he just didn't really mind. "There's a difference between me and the other Hunters, Candace."

He stumbled back a bit before he finished his train of thought and once he recollected himself he marched toward her with speed and purpose suddenly the Hourglass came swinging at her repeatedly several times in a row. The points seemed sharper than before as he shoved the hourglass in to her chest, and even her arms before he finally backed out of the attack once. Not to give her breathing room but to try and avoid retaliation.

"I would never hate you. Not for what happened in the past or what happens in the future. The only part of us that would matter at any point after this? Is our ability to move on past a spar and the few jibes to get the other worked up." Jude wouldn't have hated her if he had known what happened at the island. He wouldn't have hated her if he knew what happened with her and Circe more recently. Jude despite his attitude and bittersweet nature ... didn't hate at least not his fellow Hunters.

Don't let him get to you. Don't let him in your head. He's just some cocky fool trying to get a rise out of you. It's pathetic, Candace. Just pathetic. "I like to think I'm taller than some common circus midget, thanks." Candace rolled her eyes. "And what is this difference, hm?"

Damnit! Candace grunted and stumbled back with every hit, hissing with pain and repeatedly attempting to just knock him away until he hit her chest again. Damnit, damnit, damnit! He was going to break her ribs or something if he kept that up! What the hell!

She was catching her breath when he answered her question. Ah, so that was it. It was nice to hear but it was a bit difficult for Candace to really feel terribly excited when he'd just attacked her. "Never, huh?" Candace panted, rubbing her chest where she'd been hit and shaking her head. So he wouldn't hate her? Really?

Not even if she..did this? Candace whipped around, knicking him with the talon on the back of her boot. Damn. That wasn't good enough. Ow. "Good to hear, I guess. So you wouldn't hate me even if I accidentally almost killed one of your friends, but you refused to find out the entire story before passing judgement on that person?" Bitter? Candace? Never~.

He felt the knick but his expression didn't show it other than just a faint flicker across his eyes acknowledging it. He walked up and brought his Hourglass forward to firmly hit her in the gut, "No. I wouldn't hate you. I'd just find you and get revenge but there'd be no hate. Just eye for an eye but I would at least try to get a story out of you first."

A small twist of the Hourglass, "I love story time."

"But I certainly wouldn't judge your character based on the murder of my friend." He said idly as he pushed away from her to get some distance.

Jesus christ! That thing hurt! Candace grunted and doubled over, a wave of nausea hitting her after she was slammed in the gut with the hourglass. No one could ever underestimate that thing, she wouldn't let them after this. ********. She coughed, stumbling back and wiping at her mouth with the back of her hand. Ow.

She coughed. "One? I didn't kill him. He is very much alive. And it was an honest accident. Two, <******** hell what is that thing made of?!" She aimed for his arm again as she struck out and kicked at him with the bladed edge of her boot. Maybe if she knocked it out of his hands she could get the upper hand!

"Oh I know." He stated as he almost lost grip of his weapon and as a result he tried to swing his weapon down against the offending leg as a way to repay her efforts, "It is made of dreams and fairy dust, what you think?"

"That explains it. What painful dreams I must be having, then." Candace laughed.

She made one last ditch effort at victory Candace aimed for his middle now, kicking her leg as hard as she could.

"Yeah, must be having some wicked ones," he replied and then she came in and hit him rather firmly and it knocked him to his knees. He desummoned his weapon and just held the trinket in his hand to where it was unseen for now.

He let out a deep sigh almost like contentment, "You win this round, Gadget."

It took a lot of effort for Candace to stay standing. Her chest hurt, her head hurt, her stomach hurt. She wanted to just curl up in pain or throw up. One of the two...possibly both, even. Fuuuuuuck. "Good match." She breathed out, rubbing her chest and hissing with pain. She'd won. She wasn't a complete failure anymore.

"Thank you, Jude. I needed that." Despite the pain and the annoyance she'd really needed this spar after what had happened with Robert. That a*****e.

Jude nodded a bit, "Back at ya," he muttered as he forced himself on his very unsteady feet it was unsure if he'd get to his dorm but chances were he was stubborn enough to force his way there and make it mostly on to his bed.

"Not a problem. It is what I am here for," he said while the young man tried to straighten up into a proudly standing posture and started to move past her, "Let's do that again one day, okay?" he muttered and then started to head out bumping a bit into the door on the way out.

He really, really needed some sleep.
