"Mmm...ice cream. And reading, recently Yukin has gotten me hooked on a new book series. I enjoy most things, but siblings say its because I'm too cheery and could make anything fun. You?" She really hoped that they could find something they both enjoyed, so she'd have even more of a reason to ask him to hang around more often. She really liked Trey, and the more they spent time together the more she found she liked him.

Trey chuckled and nodded. "I would believe that about you." He smiled, imaging an activity Vynn might not actually like. Trey knew he did not really know her that well yet, but he had a hard time picturing her as unhappy. Or maybe he just didn't want to.
"Well, I really enjoy gardening," Trey said with a smile. "I believe I mentioned that before." He blushed lightly, remembering their introduction to each other. "And after giving it some thought I realized I also like to read or simply 'day-dream', I think it's called, after finishing up my chores." Trey laughed while looking embarrassed. "I haven't really allowed myself too much free time since leaving my family. I feel I owe it to the ladies that took me in to help take care of the house." Trey heard how down he was sounded and forced out a cough, cutting himself off.
There was a heart beat of silence as he was not sure what next to do in this sort of social situation. Trey then remembered something Vynn had said. "So, uh, what's the book you're reading? Is it any good?" He grimaced, realizing she had mentioned she was "hooked". That usually meant the series was good enough to continue reading. "I mean, would you recommend it?"

She wanted to say something to comfort him as he spoke, but kept silent for the time being. Vynn smiled privately to herself as she decided that she would try and make a habit out of inviting him to spend the day with her at least once a week. She was certain that the exposure to the wider world outside of his comfort zone would do wonders for his clearly wounded confidence. At the very least it would be an excuse for her to see him frequently. The thought brought a blush to her cheeks and she forced herself t focus back on what he was saying next.
"Ah...its just a fantasy series that my sister showed me. I think its amazing. Its about a young boy who loses his parents in a raid on his village. They're taken captive and he chases them down to save them. Along the way he joins forces with a disgraced knight who only wants to redeem himself before his death. If that's your kind of thing than I would DEFINITELY suggest checking it out." She smiled wide as she finished. "What kinds of things do you like to read?"

Trey became genuinely intrigued when Vynn described the book. The fact that it involved a boy trying to rescue his family really caught his attention. He was curious and would have to remember to ask Vynn its title before parting ways. Trey will then stop at the library to see if it is available.
He thought on Vynn's inquiry for a moment. "I usually just read what ever is already around the house," Trey admitted absently. He returned to his thoughts and tried to remember the types of books that usually really caught his attention. "Adventure, I think, when it comes to fiction. As for nonfiction I like a good D.I.Y. project book." Trey nodded, content with his answers. He almost seemed to be beaming with pride.
"What about you? Or, better yet, favorite story of all time?" Trey couldn't exactly place it, but these questions were starting to feel like a game. The goal of the game, no one knew. It was sort of fun, though, and Trey liked getting to know Vynn more.

"I'm not good with non-fiction. My father says I don't have the attention span for it." She laughed a bit before shaking her head. She thought for a while, trying to decide what her favorite book was, or even if she could narrow it down to only one. "I'd have to say that my very favorite has to be anything from The Lord of the Rings. I've always been partial to Tolkein's work." She grinned in pride just thinking about it. "Do you do alot of D.I.Y projects?" She herself wasn't any good at that sort of thing, but it might be nice to know someone who was. Of course the questions back and forth where just too fun to stop just yet.

Trey could not help but watch Vynn while she pondered her options, a content grin gracing his face as he quietly took sips of his coffee. It was hard not to enjoy himself in the presence of such a lively and considerate girl. He then found himself impressed by her decision. Trey had once picked up one of The Lord of the Rings book, but soon found he did not have the time for it. "I think the fact you read them proves to your father you have more concentration than he gives you credit for," Trey remarked with a short chortle.
"A lot of the things inside my current home were made by me, actually." Trey felt embarrassed to admit that. The females he lived with loved every last thing he made, much like a bunch of moms, but he never felt like his work was up to par. "Like the coffee table... if you recall it." He wondered if Vynn would remember and what she would say about his rough carpentry. Trey was simply thankful his comrades were not getting splinters from it.
Trey looked around as if trying to find a new topic. It wasn't that he disliked the idea of talking about his D.I.Y projects, but that he wasn't sure where to go with it. "Oh! What's your favorite movie?" His housemates were always doing movie nights when ever more than two were home on a Friday night. It seemed like it was happening a lot now a days. Perhaps he could invite Vynn to one.

She had never thought about it in that way. Vynn smiled and blushed at the hidden compliment in his statement. As he mentioned his work on the table she screwed her nose up trying to recall the item in question. She frowned as she realized that she wasn't able to picture it. "I don't remember it, but it's neat that you do that. It must be fun!'
When the conversation turned to movies she smiled wide and leaned in. "Its silly, but I like the animated kid movies best. Or a good kung-fu movie. I can't really single out just a favorite movie though. You?"

Trey felt a twinge of disappointment that Vynn could not remember the table. He shrugged, though, and pretended that it didn't. "It's easier than trying to find pieces that everyone in the house can agree on." Trey replied as if it really was nothing special. "But I do find a sort of peace working the wood from the dead apple trees."
Trey mimicked Vynn when she leaned in. It felt as if she was telling him a secret. "I don't think that's silly." He smiled softly at her, his eyes showing tender affection. "Movies meant for children allows you to believe that good things will come at the end; even when things seem dark." His eyes darted down as if contemplating sadder trains of thought.
"As for me," Trey started before clearing his throat, "I go with action, usually. I think my favorite movies so far have been the Pirates of the Caribbean series." Trey chuckled softly. "I am sort of confined to what my housemates chose, but those were very amusing."

"We should see a movie together! You could even pick one out that you want to see. As long as it isn't too scary I'm up to seeing anything!" She waited patiently for his answer, even as she fervently hoped that the answer would be yes. As she waited she drank the last of her coffee and looked around, cheered a bit too see that the shop was slowling down as the rush came to an end.iMoony I didn't get the notice for some reason that you had tagged me XD

Trey felt very happy to be given yet another chance to meet up with Vynn. "That would be great." He smiled fondly at his friend. "Well, since I do not even care for scary stories, I think we can agree on that."
His eyes cast down as he thought on what movie to see. He almost wanted to laugh when his mind came up with nothing. "I think I'll problem would be that I do not know what movies are out at the moment." He chuckled lightly while shaking his head. "I do not keep on top of what's going on in the entertainment side of the world too much. Do you have any suggestions?"
Trey realized he was sounding very presumptuous about their time line for the next meet up. "That is, if you're available sometime in these next few weeks." He coughed to clear his throat and took his final sip. "Or I can do my own research for the next time you're available."DarkHikari That's okay, I understand. Sorry for my delay.

She supressed a squeal as he seemed to want to meet up soon. She smiled wide over the table at him. "In the next few weeks would be great. Maybe on a Thursday night? I'm usually free then, and the theaters won't be as crowded." Vynn pursed her lips as she thought on what was out or coming out soon, and; with one of her normal careless shrugs she looked back at him. "I'm not really sure myself. We could just set a day and meet up, if we decide before then cool, but if not we could always just pick at random when we meet." iMoony Wanna wrap this one up soon? Seems to be headed that way XD

Trey returned Vynn's smile and nodded easily. "That sounds good. I'm available most evenings so that works for me." He laughed casually as she came up empty on movie titles as well. "It seems we are in the same boat at the moment."
Trey thought on her suggestion a moment. His first instinct was to decline such a "up in the air" plan. Trey was used to knowing what to expect. He then thought better of it. Even if they ended up watching a bad movie, at least he'd be seeing it with Vynn. That didn't sound so bad.
"Okay. That sounds like fun," Trey said without worry.

Vynn suppressed a happy giggle as he agreed. She had been worried that he would turn down her airheaded half-cocked plan. "Great! We'll meet up at the theater next Thursday evening? Around 7?" She checked the time before frowning sadly. "I should be leaving soon. I promised Chouko I'd go shopping with her later." To be honest, she'd have been content staying and talking with him the rest of the day. The thought of leaving soon was saddening. Especially because it meant leaving him until they met next. She blushed at the thought.iMoony Somehow I missed that it was my turn. sweatdrop

"Thursday at 7," Trey repeated with a small nod. His smile fell a little as Vynn's did. He couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed to see her leave already but he knew her commitment to her family.
"I understand," Trey said fondly. "It was nice to see you again, Vynn." He waited for her to stand so that he could follow her out and hold the door for her, hoping for a few more moments beside her.DarkHikari I think maybe one more post each? Probably could get away with you ending it in next post, but I'm not sure what Trey muse might want. xD

Vynn stood up from the table and took her time to gather her things and clear it off as best as she could. In truth she was dragging her feet for just a few more moments with him. She waited for him to be ready as well before throwing away the trash in a nearby can and slowly meandering to the door. "Today was...really fun. Thank you for this. I can't wait to meet up again." She blushed suddenly at how bold and obvious that had come out. "What I mean is...that spending time with you is really fun." She shifted getting more flustered by the second. Finally she chose to simply shut up. "Anyway...I should go. See you Thursday Trey." Slowly she backed away before turning and walking off. She'd see him again soon, and until then she would look forward to it. She giggled suddenly and uncontrollably, unable to contain her joy.iMoony At like 3 years too late, I think a word more appropriate than 'late' should be invented. XD I am just made of suck. Sorry
