Roch just looked at them blankly. "Seriously guys, metal toed boots," he told them before kicking Ben in the thigh.

Lark snorted loudly, pointing to her feet. "Got some!"
Ben thumped Roch with his tail across the stomach. He seemed to be taking a little too much satisfaction in the spar.
Lark was a little busy investigating Roch's boots.

He was really wishing he had a tail... that sucker was a b***h and a half! Accidentally as he was flung back, his metal toe'd shoe caught Lark on the chin.

Lark reeled back, her eyes full of shock at the clip to the chin. She certainly hadn't been expecting that, though she probably should have. After all, she had been pretty close to his feet.
Ben, however, was on the offensive still. A slash, a slash, and a light kick to Roch's torso.

"Enough!" Roch said, holding up his hands. "Jack, as if I wasn't bleeding enough as it was," he said, jumping back from the irate roo. "Getting beat on by two, but only willing to hit one of them, that ain't smart, and I ain't that stupid when it comes to fighting. Next time I'm sticking to my original level. You two are badass together," he praised them.
His poor vest, he thought, looking at the bloody leather with a slight frown. Maybe Hel could fix it...

Lark was swirling her tongue around in her mouth, checking for broken teeth. Finding none (thank Jack!) she offered Roch a brilliant smile. Ben looked a little disgruntled by the fact that Roch was surrendering, but he smiled too when Roch offered the compliment.
"Tch, y'hear that, Lark? Badass!"
Lark reached forward and flicked one of the shredded edges of Roch's vest.
"Aye! Too bad I never learned 'tsew!" She rocked back, exhilarated. "Thanks so much, Roch." Her voice turned a little somber. "I really 'preciate it, mate."

He grinned at her. "It's alright, I'll ask Hel," he said with a shrug. "She does great stuff with leather. She's another one you need to meet, actually," he said. "Mot, too," he went on, letting his guitar dissipate as he headed for the door. "But..."
He turned, looking at her. "Your friend, he's jackin' around some very dangerous territory, and Freya might not realize it. Her boilfriend? He's jackin' scary, and extremely possessive. I looked at her a** once, it was right in front of my face, and ever since then he swears I'm tryin' to take his ghoul." He looked at her, dryly.
"Really, Lark, d'ya think I'm so desperate for feminine companionship that I'd chase a taken ghoul?"

Ben fell back on his tail, falling silent as he watched the interaction between Lark and Roch. He wouldn't be silent for too long, especially when the topic of Freya came up.
"Ket might have t'make his own mistakes. It just don't sit well w'me that he's yappin' with this ghoul that has a boilfriend, yanno? Like... t'me? Yer with a boil, yer with a boil. Ain't no flirtin' w'nobody else, right?" She lifted her thin shoulders in a shrug.
"Freya ain't that bad, Lark, ya never gave her much'ova chance is all."
That earned Ben a dark glare. Ben fell silent again.
"And Roch, seems t'me that yer swimmin' in ghouls." She grinned. "I ain't go no doubt that y'have ghouls swarmin' round ya.. but that boil'a Freya's... I'unno. I jest dunno."

"I DO know," Roch said, bluntly. "I know you say he's got to make his own mistakes and all that, but I still think you should take some pictures, show him EXACTLY what he'd be going up against. I took him on, sure, but I cheated my a** off, and he still almost broke my jaw. But hell, after this warning, I ain't gonna give him another."
Then he grinned at her. "Or if you choose, I won't have given him one at all."

"They talked on groanspring a long time ago. Back b'fore I even came t'the school." She shrugged. "I'm pretty sure that Ket knows exactly what's goin' on. He says he just wants'ta be friends w'her? Don't believe it. I think he could do heaps better." She shook her head.
"And I don't think th'Freya puts a stop t'it, either. But... I'm not sure." She shrugged and looked a little annoyed.

Roch snorted. "Then I'm washin' my hands of it," he told her. "Let him die, it'll be a learning experience for him." Then he headed out the door, intent on getting some food and a nap.
