Planning to see the movie?
Yes. I love all things MiB, and watch both existing movies and the cartoon series every year.
If it gets good reviews, sure.
No way. MiB sucks, and I am ashamed to be in an organization loosely based on them.

That didn't work, because guilds are Gaia's red-headed step child.

Still, thanks for posting the trailer.

Hmm.... not sure how I feel about it. xd

There wasn't anything I can put my finger on as "bad," per se ,but it doesn't have me feeling pumped for the movie.

Sorry, Zi. It's just not gonna happen. sad

Also, I love the Columbia Pictures lady with her shades and neuralizer. xd

I really hope my theater shows it in non-3D. I'd love to see it in the theater.

Yeah, I thought the Columbia Pictures logo was quite clever. In fact, it... might have been my favorite thing about the trailer. >_>

I don't know, I was just unenthusiastic for the trailer, for some reason. neutral

I'll still go see it, though. Prrrrobably.

I think 3D is ridiculous and adds nothing to a movie. It actually takes away from most movies because it's usually added after filming and it just makes everything look slightly darker and blurrier. But it pops out of the screen! Whoop-dee-do! I saw one movie in 3D and was not impressed. Definitely NOT worth the extra $3.50 I paid for it. xp

Also, you made me wonder how my uncle (who had one of his eyes removed when he was three because of eye cancer) feels about the 3D fad. I wonder if he's ever tried to see a 3D movie and what it looked like to him... I'll have to ask him about it sometime.

You should probably try more than one movie before you decide to hate 3D. Some movies make much better use of it than others. If I recall correctly, Avatar and Drive Angry both had some good 3D effects. The way it makes the screen darker does definitely bug me, though.

And, as far as your uncle goes, the movie would look like a normal 2D movie to him (though a bit darker of course, as all 3d movies are) provided he wore the glasses.

Well, to clarify, I disliked the idea of 3D long before I ever saw a movie in it. Seeing one just reinforced my feelings. I admit, I probably would have been more impressed by a movie that had been filmed in 3D, like Avatar, but I feel pretty strongly that most 3D movies are not worth the extra cost of seeing them that way. They are just as good, if not better, in the less expensive 2D version. I hardly want to waste extra money to see every movie that comes out in 3D, just in case it's actually good (movies I wanted to see anyway, that is, of course). Also the glasses annoyed me because I wear normal glasses, so the 3D ones kept falling down and I eventually had to just hold them on with my hand for the whole movie.

Hm, that's interesting. I guess it really is a waste of money for him, then, heh.

Really? Why did you dislike the idea of it?
Yeah, as a general rule, only pay to see movies in 3D that were filmed in 3D. Otherwise it's a waste.
Odd that you had so much trouble with your glasses. I wear glasses too, and the only problem I've had wearing both sets is that I have TWO sets of glasses to get popcorn grease on. >.<

Yeah, the way that the 3D works, is that there are two slightly different pictures projected on the screen. It's set up in such a way that one of the lenses on your glasses filters out one picture, and the other lense filters out the other--so one eye sees one picture, and one eye sees the other (slightly different) picture. This creates the 3D illusion. So, if you were only watching the movie through one eye, you'd see just one of the two pictures--so it would look like a normal movie.

I just think it's totally unnecessary. Like I said before, it doesn't add anything to the movies (imo) and it just feels like a gimmick that won't die. I mean, people act like it's this huge new leap forward in technology, but it's been around practically since the invention of movies. Sure, it's been improved upon, but still... I feel no great need to see movies popping out of the screen at me. It seems incredibly hokey. Plus it seems like EVERY movie is being forced into 3D and, at least at my local theater, they only want to play the 2D version for like, the first week or two that the movie is out (if at all). So if I miss out on that, I'm out of luck till it comes out on DVD.

Also, like I said, I would probably have been impressed with something like Avatar. My brother saw it and he told me it was more like things were going back in the screen instead of popping out for the most part. The reason I didn't see it was because it just looked like a lame, preachy, guilt trip movie about the white man being a jerk to the Native Americans... in space. neutral

But anyway... I guess I'm coming off as pretty cynical right now. My point is just that I don't see the draw of 3D and it continually irritates me that it's so hard to see a movie in regular 2D. Oh, and I dunno what the deal was with the glasses. Maybe it's just the style of my real glasses that was causing the problem. Or maybe it's because my nose is kind of small. *shrug*

I really don't nhave a glass eye.

If I did I'd wear a monocle instead of glasses, though! How amazing would that be!

Juuuuust checking.

And, would it really be amazing? How do you keep a monocle on your face, anyway? It seems like it would take effort, unlike glasses, which just sit there.
