He chuckled at the mention of hippo gladiers. "Yes, that does sound amusing. And I agree with you. It's natural for their nature to speak like that. But not for you."
Hearing Souppi's talk about his siblings brought back memories into the wanderer's head. He could imagine Souppi's siblings more better now, their personalities too. Wait." he said surveying the scene. "Are you hungry?"

After Souppi finished laughing, he said, "You're right."
He hadn't eaten, since he left home, so he was definitely hungry. He had been looking forward to going over his sister's, because every time he went there, she had food or was making a meal. She did make him help cook and clean, but he didn't mind it.
He didn't want to impose on Gramtaro, but he didn't want to lie either, so he reluctantly said, "Yes."

Nodding, he remembered something. "Good, because I can remember spotting a bush of berries on my way here. Maybe we'll be able to fins it once again?" There was a spark of hope in his eyes and knew that they actually would spot the berries soon.

Souppi was glad that Gramtaro seemed happier now. "I hope so."
He wondered what sort of berries they could be. They had to be the kind that grew on a bush, not a tree or vine, so mulberries and strawberries were out of the question. They could be cranberries. He didn't like how hard they felt, but he loved the way they tasted. Or blueberries. Those were good too, even if they were rather sweet.
Really, he'd be fine with anything, right now. He was so hungry, he could eat a horse.
