Gale gave a sort of half strangled cough, spitting onto the ground before he could reply again. The tables had turned, it seemed, which was starting to frustrate him.
"Another mission?" he repeated, and shook his head. "No. I was there for the first mission. The one before the one everyone else went on."
He swung the rifle around, slamming it into the backs of Marcus' legs in the hopes of knocking him down.

What was Gale talking- OWCH. Falling and then rolling to avoid another hit, Marcus got back up, wincing from the blow. "First Mission? No offense, I have no idea what you're talking about." Was.. "wait, were you there when that thing killed people?" No way. Gale wouldn't have been- no way. "That's insane..right?"
A weak slash. He was a bit confused.

"No," said Gale again, darting sideways, out of the way to dodge the full brunt of Marcus' sword. "No, I wasn't there for - ouch - all of that."
The rifle slammed across Marcus' shoulders.
"I was there when that thing killed Ben."

s**t he- "that thing-" That monster that they had killed...That was the thing that killed- "So the hunter Caelius pulled from it's body.." Had that been Ben? he was too stunned to even attack.

Gale's fingers tightened around the rifle until his knuckles were white.
"I don't know," he said, through tightly clenched teeth. "I don't know if it was him."
Angrily he swung the weapon again, this time harder than he had planned to.

God damn it. This just was- Staggering back, Marcus was almost out of breath. "Why didn't you tell us?" It was slightly accusatory. Why hadn't he spoken up? Didn't the rest of them deserve to know? A bit upset he lashed out with the flat of the blade.

He hadn't ever planned on knocking Marcus fully out, Gale staggering backwards and breathing heavily. He leaned on his rifle, pushing his sweaty hir away from his face and looked over at the older hunter.
"Because," he said, in a hoarse, pained voice. "Because I didn't want to relive it all over again."
Because I already see that every day in my nightmares.

Marcus flinched at the tone. "..." Desummoning his weapon, He went over and put a hand on Gale's shoulder. "I- I'm sorry but.." Was it rude? maybe. "If or when you're ready...can you just like...tell me what happened?" It was a small thing but, he wanted to know.

There was a flash of light as the rifle disappeared, the silver, rune-encrusted ring appearing back on Gale's left index finger. He gave a small sigh, straightening, and pushed his hair away from his face again. It really was getting to be too long.
"Yeah," he said wearily. "Yeah, I'll tell you when I feel up to it."
Who knew when that would be, but Gale trusted Marcus, at the very least. He glanced up at the older hunter.
"What do you say we get fixed up and then go have lunch?"

A small smile. "Yeah." That was a good enough answer fro him at least. "lets' do that. You pretty much kicked my a** and..food sounds good." They could talk of the mission later. Maybe, they would know more then.
