As Kathryn watched from underneath the table a blue blur shot into the kitchen making all sorts of ruckus. That blur had come in from the dining area of the cafe. Had Benitoite not even tried to get food for himself? Had he actually gone and driven the other people inside to distraction so that she could have time to snack? Kathryn was touched. Usually she would have been the one to show someone that sort of compassion. Straightening up from her hiding place - Kathryn made a swift decision. She picked up her package to go and made a dash for the still open door. Her sprint ended up behind a garbage can in the alleyway and she waited for Benitoite to reappear.
A loud sound of a cat hissing and spitting in annoyance and of a human's voice scolding had Kathryn ducking even further behind her hiding place. The sound of something impacting the ground and the consequent sound of a door slamming had the feline wonder exactly what was going on. It was Benitoite's whisper that brought her out from where she stood. She picked up the package with the roast beef slices with her mouth before padding over to the figure that was just getting to his feet. She placed the food at her feet before her keen gaze locked onto Benitoite's.
"I did make it out. Thank you. I guess you ran interference for me so I would have enough time to grab food. That was a very generous thing that you did," Kathryn looked down at the slices of meat she had stolen before pawing open the package. Considering the closed door of the cafe's kitchen Kathryn didn't think that they'd be checking the alley out anytime soon. She nudged the meat over to the other cat before sighing, "If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have had the opportunity to grab this. I insist that you take some of it for your troubles."

Smiling as he saw the female cat, with food, his head bowed lightly. "I'm glad you made it out. I'd hoped I wasn't caught too soon." He was happy to see her prize, she would eat well tonight and he had helped. He was doing good, even as a cat. Shaking his head, tail curling about his back legs as he sat himself down.
"No, no. I have a place I'm staying, a friend, who is feeding me. I'm perfectly content and well fed. You eat, you need to." It was obvious she didn't have it as easy as he did, and he wasn't going to take a meal from her mouth. She needed it. Leaning down he nosed the food gently, toward her. "It's yours, I told you that I'd help. I didn't intend to have anything unless it was something I grabbed on my own, I didn't." He'd been too busy to, and he didn't regret not getting himself a meal. It was worth it to make sure she would be eating.
"Hopefully this ends soon and were back to normal."
