This whole flying through the air was not agreeing with the pup, he struck the far wall even harder than he had before! But instead of falling to the ground and bouncing, he seemed to fall into a larger form of himself. And instead of a cute little puppy charging towards him, Roch was now faced with a collie-sized dog, pale and streaming tendrils of wispy fur, tearing forward for his next attack.
And if that wasn't a frightening enough image, the coat on his left side began to turn a dark red, like blood seeping through the glowing white fur. It was a natural reaction, but it gave the ghost the impression of a vengeful specter running forth to avenge it's death. Jove's eyes glowed, he snarled, and then darted in to sink his now palm-length teeth into Roch's thigh.

"Sonofa--" Roch stumbled back, letting out a bellow of pain as the teeth sank into his leg. How the hell had Jove turned into that FREAKIN SCARY THING?? He almost fell, but he wasn't going to go down that easily--
He brought the butt of his guitar down hard, right on the dog's neck, feeling blood trickling down his leg. It was no longer a matter of monitoring Jove's level of FEAR, it was a matter of trying to keep his own.
Who woulda thought that the pup would give him this good of a fight? Although, seriously, that second form was gonna try to give him nightmares.

Jove had never before equated the taste of blood with success, but there it was. A good solid attack. Success. His eyes lit up with triumph, not only had he gotten in the attack, but Roch had looked scared! The little wisp savoured the feeling. At least, until he felt a fierce crack against the base of his neck that dropped him like a rock. And not just flat onto his belly, but right back into his usual pup-form.
He lay there for a minute, completely stunned, little paws sticking out of the fluff in all four directions. Jove had taken worse hits during the course of the fight, but not when he was so low on FEAR! He would have been hard pressed to remember his own name at that moment let alone attack again.

"And we're done," Roch said, dropping onto his butt next to the pup and looking at his thigh. "There goes another pair of pants..." He didn't seem that bothered about the gigantic bite out of his thigh, though, when he brought his right hand up and looked at it with a twist of the lips. "And a weeks' worth of playing, at least," he said quietly.
That one he was almost tempted to go to Cricket over, even if she terrified the living crap out of him. He moved his fingers, wincing as blood trickled down his wrist.
"You okay, Jove? Or do I gotta carry you out of here?" he asked, his tone still quiet.

The little ghost was slow to come around, and when he did he let out a growl that petered out into a whine. It was almost as though he were saying "Nah, I've still got fight left in me! Just give me a minute and we'll finish up!" Certainly calling it a day was not on his mind, even though he looked like he had gotten freshly run over by a car. The blood was starting to mat his long, fluffy fur, and he might have been missing at least one additional tooth after being beaten around by that guitar.

"You're gonna be like that?" Roch asked, looking down at him with a raised eyebrow. "Okay, then I concede," he said, raising a hand and summoning his pin. "You win. I lose. This is yours now," he finished, dropping his emblem in front of the puppy.

Jove inched forward just enough to put his nose against the pin, pressing his nose against it, taking in that particularly 'reapery' smell. But it also smelled like Roch, and that was okay.
Suddenly he frowned. This wasn't how things were supposed to go, Roch couldn't just give up while he stood over the pup like that! But... Jove couldn't quite pull himself up to finish the battle himself. It looks like he had been beaten after all.
With a big sigh he made a mumbling noise, not out of displeasure, but acceptance.

"You and me, man, we'll do this again," Roch said. "Okay? That was a blast," said the guy that had been bitten WAY too many times during the fight. "And that bigger dog form? You scared the PISS out of me!" he told him, grinning.
"I mean, sure, I'm a bit squeamish around ghosts to begin with, but that was terrifying! Jackin' GORGEOUS work," he went on, more proud of the pup than he was of his own actions. "You got any more forms? Or are you gonna keep it for the next time we fight?"

Jove made a little cough, a weak attempt to summon his own pin, but he was too beaten down to manage it. Instead his tail began to wag. So all his work over the summer had paid off! He was scary for real! Terrifying even! He didn't get up, but Roch might have noticed him fluffing up proudly.

Roch limped over to the clothes the pup had discarded, scooping them up and hiding his scowl from the other boil. He was about to willingly touch a ghost, which was sort of NOT on his list of things to do for the day, but on the other hand, this was Jove. And he'd beaten the poor guy to the point he couldn't really get up.
So he walked over, scooping the pup up on top of the clothes. "C'mon, man, let's go recover," he said to the pup before limping out of the gym. "I think we both deserve a spookie or somethin' for this one," he added with a grin shot down at the pup.
