Once again, the rattata spewed forth a blast of ice. Since he couldn't dodge the attack, it layered on, growing thicker with every passing second. The Joltik wasn't going anywhere soon. Jenk grit her teeth, waiting it out and hoping the rattata couldn't do too much damage before the ice melted.

Whew. That was close.
"All right, Leto, lower its defense with Rock Smash!" Genesis called, glad they had some time to recuperate now.
Leto instantly complied, and with a glowing paw she struck the immobilized Joltik.

The frozen Joltik couldn't move, but the thick layers of ice made it difficult to cause any physical damage. Jenk knew better than to think that the attack was without reason; the lasting effects could be detrimental to their win.
She waited, grimacing a little as the rocks hit the ice, and watched anxiously as it melted, hoping it wouldn't remain too much longer.

Hopefully, the preparations made would be enough to give Leto some leverage, Genesis thought.
"It's almost out; try to get it with Flame Wheel before it can escape!"
Leto chittered her agreement. Then, in a burst of flame, she ran to tackle the frozen Joltik.

A fire move on a frozen pokemon? Miiiight not have been what Jenk would've gone with, but hey! It had done damage to the poor little guy. Grimacing, Jenk watched as the ice began to melt faster. No doubt, the Joltik was beginning to twitch inside the ice. He'd be free to have his SPIDERY REVENGE soon. She just had to wait out the last of the ice as it melted in the fiery aftermath of the Rattata's attack.

Continuing along her momentum's path, Leto swerved after giving the first blow. She once again aimed for the sopping Joltik, ready to deal a second.

Jenk grimaced as the rattata swerved and rounded back, striking Joltik once more before he had a chance to get out of the way. "You okay, little guy?" She called, leaning against the railing with a slight grimace. Shaking it off, the Joltik chirped, bristling its fur and snapping its mandibles at Leto.
Clearly, being frozen and then flash-fried was not high up on Joltik's bucket list. Grinning at the agitated little spider, Jenk called out her next command, hoping he'd come back strong from the onslaught. "Alright, love, Electroweb!"
Chirping his affirmative, the Joltik rubbed its legs together, building up a charge before it began spewing webs in Leto's direction.

And now I keep automatically choosing 100-sided die LOL.))
Leto snapped her teeth angrily when she became caught in the electrified web, ears lowering in response to the pain. Hoping to destroy it, she readied another Flame Wheel and ran towards the Joltik, web and all.

Joltik tried to break the web and get away, but he didn't get far before Leto ran right into him. Fire singed his fur, Joltik making a pained screech as he skittered away. Jenk winced in sympathy for the poor spider, biting the inside of her cheek. "Hang in there, Joltik! You're almost there!" It was quickly becoming a close battle, but Jenk still held out hope in the form of another electric attack. "Electroball!"
Rounding to face Leto, the Joltik rubbed its legs together, generating static before letting out a loud Joltii! as it formed an electric ball, then launched it at Leto.

A skidding halt, a spring, and a backward leap was all Leto needed to dodge the next attack. She felt smug for finally having avoided those nasty shocks, but she couldn't gloat about them now! With a wave of "Tatatatatatatata's" that were less than subtle, she ran into the Joltik again with Flame Wheel once more.

Jenk grimaced as the flaming Rattata ran head on into the spider pokemon. It flew backwards, skittering to get away, and Jenk watched with trepidation as the Joltik rested for a moment, swaying on its feet. She clasped her hands together, biting the tip of her thumb, but finally Joltik seemed to shake it off. This was the determining moment, the defining moment in any and every battle. The win-or-lose moment.
"Joltik!" She said sharply. "We're almost there, sweetheart! Electroweb!"
Summoning its charge took what little strength the Joltik had away from him, but after enough of a charge was collected by the spider, it shot its electrifying webs at Leto again in one final hurrah.

The Joltik's fatigue was mirrored in Leto's slowed gait and her quickened breathing, but she wasn't about to give up just yet. The Joltik looked just about to fall, and in a desperate attempt to end the battle, she rushed at the spider-like Pokémon with another Flame Wheel, disregarding the web that clung to her face and sides for the moment.

Jenk watched the Joltik take the last hit and, with a pained shriek, the poor spider dropped. She sighed a little, clicking her tongue, but willed the disappointment away. If you win all the battles, it's not nearly as fun. She withdrew Joltik to the Pokeball he had, and grinned across the way at Genesis.
"That Rattata's a heck of a fighter!" She called from her platform, putting the Pokeball in her pocket as the platforms lowered so they could leave. "I want a rematch, if you're up for it." Grinning a bit, the blond trainer put her hands in her pockets and turned, walking through her exit to return the poor Joltik.
It had no doubt earned the rest.
