She looked like a cookie? O…kay. That was a compliment…she thought. “Ah, alright!” The reaper replied, “I look forward to it, then.” Wait…the balls sang too? Hel looked confused as the ball the Psychopomp summoned seemed to be trying to hate-serenade him, though what had her even more puzzled was when Mac suddenly seemed to be in a bad mood because of it.
The ghoul took the bat, eyeing the boil for a moment before she stepped on the switch, and this time, swung the bat before the ball had a chance to say anything. With a bit of satisfaction, she watched it land near the machine and then roll the rest of the way. Not as powerful as Mac’s first hit…but definitely better! She held the bat back out to him.
“What is wrong?”

Mac took the bat back without a word; he didn't comment on how good her hit was (though if he did, finally might have been a word he used to describe it), nothing. He took his spot at bat, hit the trigger, and threw his body weight into his next swing.HOSHEET! The ball shrieked, moments before it was smashed and sent back to the machine, whipping past it instead of hitting it.
"Nothing, why?" He said slowly, rolling his shoulders and handing the bat back to her with a little smile.

Stupid Mac getting another good hit in. Stupid Mac thinking she didn’t know something was wrong. Hel puffed out her cheeks as she rested her hands on her hips, glaring him down. Even as he held the bat out, she still glared at him for a good long minute before she snatched it out of his hands. Distracted she was, as she smashed her boot on the switch, and when the ball came out, missed it entirely again. U MAD, BRO!? Stupid balls. The reaper huffed, and rested the bat on a shoulder as she resumed glaring up at the psychopomp. “ Let us made a bet.” She announced. “ This next round…who ever hits the ball the hardest will be the winner. If I win, you have to tell me what is wrong…if you win…well…you pick whatever you want, ya? Deal?” She held her hand out to him. Sure, she could try to goad it out of some through the power of nagging…but something told her that Mac would be a tough nut to crack that route. This one seemed more direct.

Mac didn't seem to notice - or care - about the stare she levied on him. When she missed he chuckled and when she started to talk, he paused. A bet? He liked bets, damn that woman. Damn her! He frowned, but behind his frown he was pondering his options.
"If I win, you drop the subject. For good." He informed her, grabbing the bat from her. "Deal" His back was to her then, stepping on the switch. The ball flew, but...he missed, entirely.
The ball didn't even say anything to him.

Oh that Mac drove a hard bargain! She crossed her arms as he took the bat from her and then stepped on the switch, and missed. Well…things were looking in her favor…she just hoped she wouldn’t miss as well.
Hel snatched the bat back from him and stepped on the switched, her brows furrowed as she worked on concentrating. She needed to win. Out the ball came, and Hel wasn’t even paying attention if it did say anything. She swung the bat, heard the satisfying sound of the ball meeting the bat, and turned back to Mac with a wide grin. She placed the bat on her shoulder as she stared at him expectantly, tapping her foot.
“So Mac. What is wrong?”

...Damn, did she ever hit that ball. Mac flinched at the ding of bat and ball connecting, watching it nearly hit the machine. Well, damn. He didn't anticipate her luck to turn around! He mulled over his answer, looking at her from under the brim of his hat.
"I'm in a bad mood, that's what's wrong." He said simply, holding out his hand. "There's nothing to discuss, bat please." Couldn't fault him for trying!

Mac thought he was getting away with that? Ha! Yeah right.
The ghoul angled herself away from him, but kept her dual toned gaze on his. “Why are you in a bad mood, Mac?” Hel asked. She definitely did not intend on handing the bat over until he started talking. This was like the chop stick battle. She’d keep it away from him!

The look on Mac's face suggested he was about to get very angry, or ragequit. The chances of it being both were rather high, though. After a moment or two he sucked in a deep breath, sighed it out heavily, and then pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Lizzy and I broke up." He said, gritting his teeth. "Happy? Can I have the jackin' bat now?"

Hel just raised a brow. You wanna get mad, Mac? You got for it, Bro. “It is not healthy to keep it all in, you know.”
At his confession though, the valkyrie couldn’t help but looked stunned. Broke up!? Why? But... “Why…?” The ghoul questioned, staring up at him. Last time she had spoken to Lizzy she had just been….over the moon. How could this have happened? “And I do not know…can you have it?”

"That's nonya yer jackin business." He informed her flatly. "I came out here to vent, not to spill my guts to you. Now hand it over." As always he was irritated; he didn't want to explain to Hel, he just wanted to go have fun, that was why he was out here! That was probably why he lunged for the bat, trying to take it from her.

“Maybe I am going to make it my business.” Hel shot back, puffing out her chest at the challenge. “And isn’t venting and spilling your guts verbally the same thing?” The reaper’s eyes widened as Mac lunged for the bat, and out of instinct, the ghoul spun to the side, keeping it out of his reach still.
“I thought you two were happy.”

"No, they aren't. I came here to smash things, not to talk." About that stuff, anyway. He did his best to grab her as she spun away but alas, he missed. It didn't stop him from righting his stance and trying again, though. He would have that bat, Hel. Either the bat, or a bone-breaking hug to the ghoul keeping the bat from him.
"We---nngh, I am not going to discuss this with you!"

“I think you can do both. I will hand you the bat if you smash and talk ~” Curious and nosey she was, definitely. As Mac lunged for her once more, the ghoul spun in the opposite direction, and a wicked grin crossed her lips. Oh hay…Mac was kind of preoccupied and she had a terrible idea. A foot tapped the switch, and she wondered if the Psychopomp would dodge the incoming ball in time.
“We…what?”

"No, Hel." He said, hearing the definitive click of the switch and hearing the telling scream of a rather loud ball, aimed for him. He did manage to dodge in time, in more than enough time, but...
"YOU CRAZY LITTLE---" He yelled, gritting his teeth and straightening again. That was the final straw.
"That's it, I'm done here" Mac growled, turning roughly on his heel to head out of the cage, turns left or not.

She snickered. So immature it was, but she couldn’t help it. As Mac seemed uh…ready to leave though, the reaper quickly changed her tune, and scrambled in front of him, wedging herself between him and the door to keep him in the cage. “Bah! Here you big scareling!” She shoved the bat at him. “Do not go wasting your seeds, okay? But I still want to know why!”
Stubborn ghoul was stubborn.
